Hello teacher I want to tell you I never understand any teacher easily I have so many doubts and I have to understand by myself but you are excellent i understand every concept thank you 💗🙇🏻
Ester is also a good Electron withdrawing group but when compared to aldehyde and ketone the effect is less as the electrophilicity of the carbonyl group is partially satisfied by the lone pair of the oxygen adjacent to it.
@@iranafees1154 yes ethers does not have acidic hydrogens. You cannot generate a carbanion on the carbon adjacent to the oxygen atom because electronic repulsion takes between the lone pair of electrons on oxygen and the carbanion. For these reason in fact ethers are used as solvents in the preparations Grignard reagents. I appreciate your quest for learning. Keep Learning!
Clear cut explanation mam all my doubts about acidic hydrogen got vanished. Please keep uploading tricks and concepts in chemistry. Thank you so much mam Love from Tamilnadu But mam why not the electron in oxygen go into the benzene for resonance. Please explain mam
Thank you Sakthi bel for your wonderful words! I don’t know which molecule you are talking about but I will consider it as Phenol. Actually the free electrons (lone pairs ) of the oxygen do participate in resonance and makes the benzene ring electron rich! If you still have doubt pls let me know the actual structure of the molecule and I will clear your doubt! Keep learning.
@@chemistrydemystified9923 thank you mam for your kind consideration I'm asking the application question at the last Why not the electron in oxygen of acetophenone undergo resonance?

@@chemistrydemystified9923 Ch3-O-Ch3 does not undergo reaction with grignard reagent due to absence of acidic hydrogen kindly explain why ??

Mam are you from south india??
Yes
Ma'am if we add heat at x then the reaction occurs on alkyl halides will be E2( Dehydrohalogenation) am i rights?
Not only heat we need to add some base as well for the abstraction of the proton
Ma'am agar ch3 ch2 wala sp2 hua toh acidic hydrogen hoga?
But I have a doubt in last question in the y product why and how ch2 is attacked
Because CH2 is in between two carbonyl carbons which makes it very acidic in nature and thus reacts towards base.
@@chemistrydemystified9923 thank you mam now it is clear for me.

I'm asking the application question at the last
Why not the electron in oxygen of acetophenone undergo resonance?
@@chemistrydemystified9923mam I have one more question regarding this. Can I contact you?
@@SakthiVel-uv4zg you give your number I will contact you!
@@SakthiVel-uv4zg only the oxygen directly attached to benzene ring will involve in resonance! In acetophenone it is attached through a double bond.
