I am one with the IUPAC compounds, when finishing this video I can bend reality.. No I can change the intermollecular structure of time itself. This isint just a game. This is life. Call me Dr stone the way I name these compounds. ITS A BANDIT ERAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Heres a tip for you lot! Theres some tricks you can use with your cheat sheet. Most of if not all of these names are on the data sheet, on the absorbtion data side. A trick i use to remember order of importance is by looking at a few of whats listed in a certain order…. Starting with the infrared absorption table, first up is all the amines. Which aside from the alkyl groups are least in priority. Just beneath that are alcohols, which come next in priority. Then you go down to the bottom of the chemical shift data, you have ketones. Than aldehydes. Next one up, you have esters and then you have acid…which you can use to remind yourself that the top priority is carboxylic acids. Thats the order of priority! And one less thing for me to have to try and remember :) I,m not sure if this is helpful to anyone but me, but i hope this makes sense! I have a terrible memory, but i love chemistry…that data sheet you get is, while it may seem pretty useless…if you know how to use it to your advantage can be really helpful. Make some memory tricks with it!
Thank u so much , u are a true hero !! , it was really helpful, it did sort out all my confusions , u are the greatest human being , no words to describe your hardwork

I have a test tomorrow 🥲
Me too 😂
Me too 😢😂
THANKYOU SO SO MUCH. HUGE HELP FOR MY TEST TOMORROW!!!!! the prof only gave us the file without even teaching so i didnt get it right away -!! 😭😭
thanks you really simplified this
Thank you
Thank you for a detailed explanation!!
Thank you. Best video
in 14:15 isn’t it supposed to be an aldehyde instead of a ketone since it is between a carbon atom and a hydrogen
so the answer should be 3-formyl propanoic acid
please correct me if I’m wrong 😭😭I also think that the second one is wrong too since you didn’t include the methyl
@@chynnaabigaelsanchez261the methyl substituent is part of the carbon chain
@@chynnaabigaelsanchez261it won't become a substituent because it is part of the carbon chain
so im cooked for this…🥰
I'm writing in 20 minutes
bro me too im actually deep fried
Wow smart explanation...thanks
Amazing help thank you

Why its but-1ene not 1butene?🥹
Pent-1-yne not 1-pentyne?
both are correct ways to write it
