    Hey Cap! Thanks for the video! Don't be to bummed on yourself. Sometimes the worst races can result in the most growth. I didn't watch the whole video, but with respect I'd like to offer up a couple of thoughts. Its hard to tell mostly from the video if you are standing or sitting but seems like there may be lots of times where you are sitting when probably should be standing. Also, staying neutral on the bike while standing helps with control in the mud and through ruts/roots. I've found letting my legs/back support my weight (attack position), gripping with ankles/knees, and using my lower body to help with turning/aiming the bike has helped my riding. It also helps with arm pump, as you are not having your arms supporting your weight on the bars. Also looking ahead so you can set yourself up. Just a couple thoughts, based mostly on my experience. I'm a slow vet rider, and have had plenty of rides that made me want to quit riding lol!

      Thanks for the tips! I usually stand as much as possible, but there’s something about the mud. It’s hard to trust my traction for some reason I just really struggle in mud?

    I feel your pain in the mud dude. I am terrible in the mud...or more terrible.😂 Great video and thanks for taking us along for the ride it looked like a fun course, but kinda short. What was a lap length?

    I've been where you're at skillwise.
    The mud always put a hurtin' on me ! But I got better at it with a lot of riding. You will too.

    Hey guys it’s finally race season! Just for conversation sake let me know if you raced this event and which class et etc, I'll go first! I raced the 40B class for the first time and although I struggle I had a blast!

    • @Engrave.Danger
      @Engrave.Danger ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was my first hare scramble. C 35+ and the first lap was an intermittent traffic jam. It looked a lot more spread out in your class.
      As if the mud wasn't bad enough, it's hard to establish a flow when I ride below my pace. I got to rip a few decent openings but there were others where I was just whooped and had to dedicate all my energy to surviving. My hands were sore AF this morning.

    • @Captain250FX
      @Captain250FX  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Engrave.Danger awesome you survived! Getting a good start is so important in C class, good luck at the next one and thanks for watching!

    • @Engrave.Danger
      @Engrave.Danger ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Captain250FX yeah, I've got a kick starter and my 450 doesn't like to start outside of neutral, then I had a couple of guys fall in front of me 2 turns in so I stopped and went off the track to go around them because I didn't want to cut in front of someone and get hit. I was pretty close to the back of the pack after that. Still had a good time and managed 7th in my class. I'll probably do another race or two this season but I'm more interested in riding single track and enjoying the flow.

      30+ B and rode almost as good as you! Same thing I just suck (more than normal) in the mud, no trust in the front end at all. Good news is round 2 can't be much worse !

    they lay that course out too tight. Not enough area to pass in the woods so you end up with a single deep rut and 20 bike long "trains" in the woods where nobody can get around a slower guy
