    Corey, Rich Dad/Poor Dad is a good book to learn about budget and finance. For right now, get a notebook and write down every thing you spend everyday(and what you spent it on) for 6 months. You will be surprised at what goes out and have a realistic view of where your money goes. You are at a great age to start for your retirement. Thank you for the pantograph lesson. I have a few and am really excited to use them. I hope that all goes well for you and your family. Ann

    I missed you live for the last 2 weeks so I’m catching up on your recent videos..this is a great lesson...thank you. I’ve done ok with straight across pantos, but I have trouble with pantos that are interlocking...hills and valleys. I have a hard time judging it and have stitched over the previous stitching.

    Thank you guys so much. Was excited to see the heading of this video. Have had a long arm for 16 months have bought about 16 panto designs and never used them. So this really helped. Didn’t have a New Years resolution but now do. Use each panto.
    Now just a question..... could you do a demo with a panto in the main body of the quilt and another design in the boarder , telling us what we need to think about.? Love your videos. Getting on my knees now for your cross that you are carrying 🙏🏼

    Any suggestions on how to make adjustments when the original lines on the side no longer line up? Or even better how to avoid it? No matter what I’ve tried my quilts have a tendency to shift to the left. I thought it might be the quilt shrinking with each pass, but all of the videos I’ve watched never address what to do if the tape lines are off after a few passes. Hope all is well with your family. You did an amazing job and you wouldn’t even know there was an underlying “family distraction” going on. Very professional, but glad you shared.You are our family to many of us.

    This was a great video. Have a question about the length of the pantographs. I only have an 8 ft frame so i think those really long rolls ( up to 108”) might not work for me. I am really liking the pantograph process and would like to get some designs but not sure if its cost effective or efficient qui,ting for me to get such long rolls? Can you advise me on what I could use for pantograph patterns. Do you have something to fit a 15” throat space HQ longarm. Thank you. And my prayers will be with you and your family.

    Jan 12, Just watched this video. Question though on how to set up the pantograph so when you're getting to the bottom of your quilt you still have enough room between your needle and the quilt that has been rolled up to sew the complete height of the pantograph. In your tutorial, you have the pantograph lined up with the rail, but as you roll you have less height. I assume you need to move the pantograph farther from the rail, but how do you decide how far? Also, do you try to set up your pantograph so the design is centered both horizontally and vertically. So your first and last rows are about the same height since the panto cannot be repeated in even numbers. Panto is 9", but you quilt is 70" long'

    • @LindasElectricQuilters
      @LindasElectricQuilters  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Due to shrinkage along the quilting process, it is hard to determine what you will have left at the end. The more you quilt a pattern, the more you figure out shrinkage for that pattern. We teach for you to still line up the same as we showed in the video. Once you get to the last row, you would then secure your bottom edge of your top, then you would put a long piece of tape on the plastic thru the pantograph to match up with the bottom edge of your quilt. You would then make adjustments to the pattern with a pen to come in and out on tape. The stitching will come in and out at the bottom edge to show it is a continuous stitch still happening. It is very common when using pantographs that you won't get the full width of the last row, so its making adjustments at the end. We have a video on our channel by Linda Taylor and at the end of that video she will show you this process. It is called pantograph quilting.

    I have a question. I have a sweet 16 sit down machine, no frame. Can I get a panagraph and trace it onto tissue paper, then lightly-based glue the tissue paper onto the quilt top and quilt as usual? Or is there a better way to do to that. Or is there a product ment for this?

    • @LindasElectricQuilters

      You could try that, but we do have tear away patterns that we sell. You lay them directly on the fabric, stitch over the design and pull it off. Here is a link! www.longarmsupplies.net/collections/quilting-tear-away-patterns

    I'm a home machine quilter and have been doing my quilting with EGE patterns from JuJu on my embroidery machine, and they work nice. but the patterns are really dense because they are 5". My question is are your 4 to 5" patterns more spread out or less dense then a EGE pattern? My wonderful husband bought me the Grace Cutie frame for our anniversary and I can hardly wait to use it so I'm wondering how different the patterns are. I'm sorry for the bad news you two got and I have said a prayer for you even though its been a long time.

    • @LindasElectricQuilters
      @LindasElectricQuilters  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some of the patterns are loose and some are dense. You would want to stick with easy curves, patterns with open space. Pattern 700 is really easy at 4" and some of the other 700 series, these were made for the smaller throats.

    I loved your video! You were both great! I do have questions! I am a beginner with pantographs and my machine has a 17 inch throat. What easy patterns would you recommend for me to use for holidays from October to Christmas. Also, I didn’t quite understand the “top of pattern” and “top of next row”. I want to make sure that I don’t run out of space for the pattern when I get to the end of the quilt and that I don’t stitch over the pattern at any point. I was working with a panel, so the quilt top measures 65 inches wide, this one I need an easy star pattern for. Thanks so much

    • @LindasElectricQuilters
      @LindasElectricQuilters  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Stars and Loops for the star pattern you need. There are so many holiday patterns, I would pick one that doesn't look to busy, that has more curves then points. Trace it in your mind when looking at it on the screen if you get stuck a lot on which direction to go, that pattern might need to be a pattern used as you get more experience down the road. Practice the rolling with the tips in the video a few times, before you start stitching that normally helps. It just takes some practice, you got this.

    I just watched your pantograph video. I am being gifted a Q’Nique 15R machine and a Q - Zone hoop frame. I don’t even know what my sister’s machine and frame will do. My question is: will my 15” throat work with pantographs or templates/rulers?

    What do you do at the end of the quilt if pattern is to big ?

    • @LindasElectricQuilters
      @LindasElectricQuilters  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's hard to explain over chat, we do have a newer video that shows you how to do it. You basically have to take painters tape and adapt the pattern. If you have plastic that you put your pattern under then it makes it much easier to do this. Measure where the end of your quilt top is, like how many inches you have left to quilt, then take that measurement and put the tape all the way across the paper pattern on top of the plastic. This will cut your pattern say in half. Then draw in and out points on the painters tape adapting your pattern to fit and flow, then quilt.

    How do you do the last row if there isn't enough fabric for a complete pattern?

    • @LindasElectricQuilters
      @LindasElectricQuilters  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You would have to basically cut the pattern in half with tape. You would find your measurement of how much space you have left. So if you have 5" left and its a 10" pattern, you would put tape all across the length of the quilt on top of your pattern shield. Double check it will fit inside your 5" you have left before you start quilting. The reason for painters tape, is so you can connect the pattern back together, since you split it in half with the tape. I hope that makes sense.
