I am new to Longarm quilting and pantographs. This video is wonderful. I have been searching for weeks for this type of explanation on setup. She is a great teacher and doesn’t waste time with “chitchat” and teaches clearly and concisely. I know I will have to watch this several times to get all of her instructions, but that is because there is so much information here. I am no longer intimidated and able to start working with my new “toy”. You have made my retirement goal come true! Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for your clear and precise teaching skills. I am so glad I found your videos. I am new to long arm quilting also, and this is my retirement dream also. Again Thank you so much.❤😊
I have a long arm machine sitting quietly waiting for me to get enough courage to try quilting on it. I have spent the WHOLE SUPERBOWL watching your videos (of course I pause you every once in a while when the hubs is YELLING at the TV) and you have given me a glimmer of hope that maybe I can do this! I live hours away from quilt shops out in rural Utah….You Tube is my best friend. Thank You…I really appreciate your willingness to do these tutorials.
I cannot tell you what a blessing this is! I've had my longarm for 3 years and I bought some pantos right away and could not find anything about how to actually use them start to finish!! Tracey you are the best!! so glad I found your youtube channel.... will be going back and watching them all!! thank you so much!!
Oh Karen that makes me so happy to know the video is helping you!! I've been where you are so it feels really good to know that I've helped you move forward. Onward!! 😍😁
Wow! This is an excellent video. I followed your explanations without issue and used a pantograph for the first time. As others have said, you are an excellent teacher. Thank you for providing these instructions. You are greatly appreciated. 🤗😊
I just got my long arm a month ago. I decided to do a pantograph on my first quilt on the frame. I followed your directions word for word and it came out beautiful for a first one! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much! I recently started my small longarm business and this video has been so helpful. I haven't advertised yet because I had trouble lining up the pantograph design. Now I feel confident that I can start accepting customers. You are the best. I can't thank you enough. 🙂
Wonderful videos and instructions. I had a short arm machine which I loved and only did pantographs. I found that I could be more comfortable and precise if I sat in a free rolling office chair. Also for safety see if you can find a way to keep the cord out of the footpath. Look forward to watching more of your videos.
Thank you so much. I'm self taught with longarm. Your video on panagraphs is wonderful. I can't thank you enough. I use your method and its wonderful. I'm on my second quilt. Thanks again. Absolutely wonderful. No more stress.
I love your videos, this one made me excited about finally trying pantographs. I bought my longarm machine two years ago. You are so easy to follow clear explanations and hands on. At first I was very intimidated with the handles in the back and following a pattern. The owner of my local quilt store offered to let me try on the store demo machine. I am hooked , thank you for giving me the confidence .
Thank you so much Maryann for the kind words and I'm so happy the video helped you out! My apologies for such a huge delay in reply. I hope all is going fabulously with your quilting journey. :)
Thank you so much for the detailed video. I'm getting my machine next week and I can't wait to try this. I'll begoing back and watching all of your videos.
Excellent video. The only thing you forgot to mention is if you have a directional panto, you might have to load it upside down and quilt it upside down to get the orientation the way you want. Example: sailboats or rows of animals, etc. Ask me how I know. I now mark all of my directional pantos with a highlighted note to check the orientation to see if it makes a difference on the top.
What a great video!! It took very little time to learn how to do pantographs following this video!! The biggest help was the #1 stop and moving to #2!! My panto does not look like a row by row design because it interlocked using this method! Thank you!!!
Excellent video. This is such a clear explanation of the process. I have seen several other videos that just left me lost when it comes to repositioning after finishing a row. Your explanation makes total sense to me. Thank you for the video, and all your other videos, too. Hope you make some more!
Great tutorial Tracy. I have been considering a longarm but had been feeling a little overwhelmed as to whether I could do it 🤔. I now feel that I could definitely learn this art and improve with practice. Thanks so much for the help in this simplistic and confidence building video. 😊
Oh my! What a wonderful detailed yet not overwhelming video! Thank you so much! I have done pant is before but you highlighted some aspects I had missed! Can’t wait to do my next one!
Thank YOU! I really appreciate the kind words Jo! I'm happy you enjoy the videos. 2023 will see me focusing on regular uploads of new videos. I've got lots to share!
I have my first mid arm and have had a 5 second intro and I have been a lost dog. Finally got my first quilt done and have had my machine for almost 4 months. I found your instructions so much more clear than others I have watched. only have 7 more tops lined up and 4 more with material ready for cutting. I have to get good at this. Thank you for your help. I'm going to watch the loading video. Im sure I will learn something.
You are a very excellent teacher. I am new to pantos and am not to secure with doing them, but I keep trying. Th hank you so much for doing this thtorial.
Thank you so much for this demo best demo ever explained so well and so easy and everyone else makes it so hard I have a APQS Lucey so here we go thank you
I agree as there re very good general points on posture, lining up the laser and oh the pins! Been there and done many of the mistakes without any damage fortunately.
I just finished my first pantographed quilt (first quilt ever on a longarm, as well) with your help. Thank you so much for this great video. I referred back to it a few dozen times 😄
I have had my Lennie for 3 months and this is the first Pantones I have done. You made it so easy and I can't thank you enough. I have still to get to the last row but it looks very manageable. Awesome video.
Thank you so much for this tutorial!! It was so easy to understand and follow. I had been trying to figure out how to do this for a month!! With your tutorial, I finished my first one and am ready to try again! Thank you, Thank you!!
Just viewed this again. It is going to be my go to instructional video for pantographs. Thank you so much for putting this out there! I mention this to anyone who needs help with pantos.
I’ve had my Bernina Q-20 in a table for 2.5 years, yesterday I bought a frame and pantograph kit….I’m petrified to try it, now that I’ve seen this video I can’t wait. I think you’re going to be my new best friend! Do you teach lessons?
Very helpful video. Thank you! I just finished my first pantograph following your technique and it made it so simple. Just need to work on getting sharp points now....
Thank you thank you thank you! I have been searching for tips & techniques for a long time. You are amazing ♥️. You gave fantastic instruction that makes perfect sense. Happy quilting 🧵✂️🧵✂️
Whew! What a relief to find this. I gave up on pantographs years ago but I really wanted to try again when I found a lovely one recently. Your video solves all the problems I was having. Thank you so much for making it.
Wow! Thank you!!! I’ve struggled with lining up pantos and this video is awesome! I don’t feel so stressed out about trying pantos that aren’t straight across now…lol
Great tutorial. Very helpful. I'll be trying to get my quilt set up from your loading tutorial and from this one in hopes that I can remember everything myself and not have to ask Diana. Thank you for sharing sharing with us.

This video was soooooo helpful. Thank you so much for making these videos for us “newbies” who are just learning machine quilting. Your instruction is excellent. I learned so many tips from watching this.
This is amazing! I just purchased my first ever longarm (Millie), and this is extremely helpful. Off to watch your other videos now. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
This is a wonderful video. I’ve been doing pants for some time and you just gave me short cuts that I will be doing from now on. Thank you so much and it’s nice to see you doing videos again and especially in your new studio.
Oh you made it so much easier for me to work with a pantograph! I don’t have a longarm so I can’t advance the quilt Automatically. I have to manually move it. Any tips when I do this?
Very informative! I have a very different setup, a 15" throat machine with a Hoop frame (Grace products) but this is still very helpful regarding stops and starts. I am trying to consume as much info as possible before actually marrying thread to fabric.
Great video. Touches on a number of key components to longarming in general and some wonderful shortcuts with the reasons why you do them. Great job Tracey,
Thanks for such an informative video. I just found you, but I plan to go back and watch as many of your videos as possible. You have so much information in this one video I can hardly wait to see the others. Thank you for sharing your talents. Sharing is caring.
Very good video. I do have 1 question that wasn't addressed. Do you make sure when placing the panto, that design is started & stopped on each side at same place as well as top & bottom, so that the design starts & stops on each side in same place as well?
With some panto designs, I do 'centre' them so that the design doesn't cut off a lot of a large motif and leave only a tiny bit but if the panto is a simple design with not a lot of different elements (or the borders are a busy fabric for example) I don't worry about it. On quilts with solid or tone on tone fabrics for the borders, I do like to move the paper side to side so it looks 'even'. For top to bottom, it is what it is. Pantos are meant to fall off all 4 sides and unless the design happens to have the perfect dimensions to 'fit' the quilt top, it won't be the same top and bottom. That has never bothered me. Hope that helps! :)
Your explanation of how to advance the quilt is the best one I have found. Thank you! One question - is the plastic cover over the pantograph something that came with your frame or is it something you added? I’d love to know what type of product it is.
Claire! I'm so sorry it took so long to respond...Thank you for such kind words and I"m glad the video helped you. The plastic cover for the table top comes with our machines but you can put plastic on your own too. I sell the pantograph covers on my website if you can't find some elsewhere. :)
