  • There are many types of batteries out there for cars/bikes/boats and for the case of AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) Lead Acid battery, it is not a plug and play unit out of the box, it requires activation through the proper process.
In this video, I will go through the correct steps and precaution needed in order to properly activate the Yuasa YT12B-BS for my Ducati Monster 795 in order to ensure that its lifespan will be optimized for longevity.
    Enjoy!

excuse me, how many hours will it take to charge the battery first?

Hi. Does the battery needs to be charged after you put the acid? Or after filling it with acid and waited for 1 hour then you can use it instantly?

Yes you could use it without charging but you would lose important capacity and lifespan of the battery.
In 1-2 year you would need a new battery but if you do all the steps it can last 5-6 years at least!

    Hello!
It is possible to charge the battery using a battery from another car (while plugged in) or this should only be performed using such charger as you used?

Hello. Damn that’s a good question. Unfortunately I’m not qualified enough to give you an answer to that. Let me know if you have the answer already.

@@RUBBERNMETAL I Charged it at a qualified electrician with a charger similar to what you used. But I don't have an official answer, if it's safe to use also another car's battery. I suppose not :D

No you need a slow charger 1-2Ah to get full capacity and lifespan of the battery especially during first activation.
A car battery has got too many ambers (at least 50 Ah one small car battery) that would ruin it with a very fast charging current and also would not reach the maximum Volts that a charger can give at the start to get it over 13,20 Volts that a new bike battery can reach after the end of the charge but it would stop to where the car battery is e.g. at 12,6 Volts. All these mean that it could give a charge but very reduced lifespan of the new battery.

Battery Acid (Sulphuric Acid) is not concentrated, it is dilute. Specific Gravity of 1.280 degrees is used in LA batteries, concentrated Sulphuric Acid has an SG of 1.800 and if put in a battery it would kill it in weeks.

This is made in Taiwan, is it Authentic, how to tell whether it is authentic or not? I read review from amazon which lasted slightly more than a year and was made in Malaysia? Pls advice, there are too many fake things nowadays.

Hi. Yea it is authentic there’s a Taiwan and Japan yuasa. Japan is more expensive obviously. I’m not sure about Malaysian made because it wasn’t an option. I agree you have to be careful not to buy fake products especially anything that is critical on the bike, best way is to buy from a proper dealer instead of finding a cheap one online.

What's the difference between Japan and Taiwan yuasa? Besides the price

    • @christosx13
      @christosx13 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@lwkon3113 Just the Japan is the ''GENUINE'' original made in Japan.
It lasted in my Suzuki 10,5 whole years but it was installed by the bike manufacturer!!!
After this i had an Indonesian YUASA exactly the same type that i prepared myself like this video and lasted 6 years.
I think Taiwan are a level below the original ''Japan'' but slightly better than the others.
Generally all YUASA batteries are supposed to be original and high quality just the ''made in Japan are the top quality thats why they have double price.
