1976 I was 12 years old and me and my cousins and pals were so into KISS and skateboards. Best summer ever… went out as KISS for last “innocent “ Halloween…

1976 or so, we went to see KISS live in Virginia, seems like a world away - i was a small kid. Stage had 'castle walls in the back, the entire band was on top - lights go out , fire balls exploded and blinded us for a few seconds, long intro then they went into DetroitRockCity and Paul came running down the stairs to sing - man that was one of the most amazing shows ever
I would give up my firstborn to go back to the 90s! Particularly, the early to mid 90s! I graduated high school in 1991, graduated college in 1996, and had a BLAST during my college years! Ren & Stimpy, Beavis & Butthead, MTV actually played music videos, and had music shows for every musical taste! If you liked rap, then there was "Yo! MTV Raps." If you liked alternative, there was "120 Minutes." If you liked pop, there was "Dial MTV," which was later changed to "Total Request Live." If you liked metal, there was "Headbanger's Ball." I loved ALL of those shows! Kids today will NEVER understand how great MTV really was! I just want to go back to the 90s, and STAY THERE FOREVER!!
@@kendallthiede373It was truly a great time. Prior to that the world was too conservative, now it's too liberal. The 80's and 90's were the sweet spot, when people were more independent minded and everyone just had a good time without fear of the establishment.
This was a big part of my rotation when I DJ'd college radio in 1994-95. In fact I "borrowed" the tape from the station and forgot to return it. Still have it, it's on the Where'd you Go EP which in cassette form was a bright red cassette tape.
Ah! cuantos recuerdos Mighty Mighty, tremenda cancion, y tambien ... tremendo cover, excelente, por un momento ni nos acordamos de kiss, ojo solo por un momento dije, saludos.
When I heard this version of the song on CD back in 2008-2009 era when I was 10, I now see this as a different version of what I had in mind in 2024 seeing it in a living room and not outside on the driveway in the Gene Simmons intro
Most people would say: Oh my god at the end Dicky Barrett met Gene Simmons. But I say Oh my god at the end Gene Simmons met Dicky Barrett! I'm so jealous...
Liking this track, a bit different from the normal tracks you guys put out, only slightly thou, thoroughly enjoyed your show last year in Bristol great band, great tune!
To anyone interested (i can't go), Mighty are gonna play in Montebello, Quebec, June 14-15 in the ROCK FEST. Also a lot of amazing bands (Social D, Dropkick Murphys, Rancid, The Offsprings, Rise Against), so, if anyone wants and can go, enjoy it for me :')
haha i saw them back in 03 supporting sum41 and wondered if he did anything but dance like a boss at the side of the stage. Found out he is the manager haha
To think that this track did not come out on the USA álbum makes fill Lucky 🍀. It would be like a whole different 90s for me...like a parallel universe.
He's also the band's manager. Not sure if it's true but apparently once he couldn't get into a concert so he just said he went on stage with them and danced and he's been doing it ever since.

The Mighty Mighty Bosstones!!A heavily under appreciated '90's band!!LOVE'EM!!
One of my favorite songs! Timeless! They killed it! Not much of a Kiss fan but I loved The Bosstones ever since I was 18!

I could picture the whole thing, cheers mate! you made me time travel :)
M q. ,d mnn
I Am So Stupid ! saw them in Winnipeg about 20 years after you and they did the same thing! one of the best shows I've ever been to
Saw them in Wilkes-Barre, 1975..They opened for BOC. I was 15....got grounded for 2 weeks, but it was worth it!....lol.
;) Remember this moment if you ever find yourself posting about "stupid kids these days" ;)
I love it! They took a classic and made it their own.
The universality of a great song.
The brass instruments make this song even cooler.
What's the difference between a bull and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones? The bull has its horns up front and the asshole in the back.
What a time. The Mighty Mighty Boss Tones, Ren & Stimpy cartoons, long hair, and muscle cars. Miss those days.

@@100percentSNAFU My favorite part of the music video was when they were doing graffiti and doing toilet paper.
El mejor cover de la historia del Rock!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
You're can't go wrong with a KISS song 💪👌🤘❤️
yep, adding this to a collection of great covers. cheers.
I knew TMMB back in 94,when this popped up on MTV,blew my mind away, this guys are sheer dope!
Love me some BossTones! Never heard or seen this before. Good stuff.
There really aren't any words to describe how much I f*cking LOVE this!!
Dickie sounds like he gargles lava.
Eats razor blades and glass for breakfast
You should hear when he clears his throat

These 1976 kids are watching TV that shows 1979 KISS . Future world. I didn't know such great TV had existed in 1976. I want one.
Awesome version of this awesome tune.
Best cover of Detroit Rock City ever
Wow how cool is this, thirty years after the release of this song I find out there's a video clip.
that slap shot shirt, thrasher cap.. man.
Totally awesome! Thrasher indeed!
It's better than I thought it would be. I like it.
Love this cover.
And for those ragging on Dicky B, that guy is awesome.
Correction : The title is "Boston Skapunk City."
wouldn't it be Bahstahn Skahpunk City?
Joe Krushelnicki city* would be pronounced as Siddy in this case. You are correct.
i have to admit this is one of my favorite music videos...well done story production...great cover
One of the best covers ever
That bass is so awesome!!
i can't belive these guy were not on the top 100 song of the 1990's
Listenig to this version, I'm beginning to thik that Dickie is one of Lemmy's illegitimate sons.
Exactly! His voice sounds very much as if he smokes 5 pack of cigs a day - he can easily do some metal/grindcore with that kind of voice.
shawa666 just a Boston hardcore staple.
shawa666 * Dicky
@@IHeartNoise I heard Dickie gargles with razor blades.
Both kick ass and are legends so its possible
Awesome song, awesome cover.
Hello to the mighty "D" from Windsor...good times !!
Great group and this kicks it.
One of the best bands ever and so under appreciated its such a shame

This is the kind of music I grew up on. It was a magical time when I was 4.
Superb version by the mighty mighty bostonnes...
That is one hell of a voice!
I LOVE this. :) Way too much fun!
His name is Ban Carr. He is also their Manager. Yes that is his job to dance.
Ben Bosstone!
Such a great cover, that's the impression that I get 🙂
I can’t tell if you’re such a red neck or just a huge pot head.

The bass Line is outa this world!
You can thank Mr. Joe Gittelman aka The Bass Fiddleman for that!

Detroit approved!!!
I remember watching this in 03 when i was ib 3rd grade think how bad ass the bosstones were little did i know
Dicky was totally into the spirit of ska punk rock in this number!
Saw them do this live at Saint Andrews Hall in Detroit in 1994. Ooooooooooooo!!!!!! I’m big stuffin’…..
This was pretty damn cool!
Very interesting take on Ace's guitar solo...
This is an excellent Kiss cover! Way better than Toad The Wet Sprocket's cover of "Rock And Roll All Nite"!
Listening to this guy sing keeps making me want to clear my throat.
Awesome cover.
It’s a long way to the top
At their next show in L.A. KISS needs to have this guys play w/ them on stage!!
foooodddddaaa rolava nos bons tempos da mtv
German Autobahn and this song go well together, I tell you that!
Most people would say: Oh my god at the end Dicky Barrett met Gene Simmons. But I say Oh my god at the end Gene Simmons met Dicky Barrett! I'm so jealous...
With a voice like that, you'd think they'd be better matched for a Motörhead cover... ;)
Woah! We need that😍
Tihs is the BEST of both worlds! Smoking!
Excellent Top shelf 👌 -
Not even a big ska fan, but they NAIL this cover and do it better than the original in my opinion
Amazing!
Great cover.

Fuckin nailed it. This is THE ONLY version of Detroit rock city as far as I'm concerned.
this is the most 2000s thing ive seen all day
Would you believe this is from 1994?
I like how green-haired guy's job in the band is headbanging lol
The toaster
Me too! I wish I had green hair like that. 😍
he's the manager and has been dancer for all these decades
@@CSM100MK2 Really? I didn't know that!
Ben Carr?
he's the most important member of the band.
