I found my receipt and I got the material from Plastic Works Inc in Calgary AB www.plasticworksinc.com and the product code is 01CH and the description is 3/16” Carbon Fibre ABS
Dude that was an awesome fabrication. I’m inspired because i currently own a 2005 Bentley GT that I am working on-body kit and suspension work-all on my own.
For anyone else that ever finds this in the future, do NOT EVER cut Carbon Fiber without wearing a respirator. Once cut the fiber dust are like tiny floating spears that once inhaled, get stuck in your lungs and they do NOT EVER COME OUT. Not trying to shame the video, as most people don't know this, but never ever do it like this please.
How much was the ABS plastic and how thick did you use? I’ve not been able to find any. I thought about using aluminum like a big construction sign then copying how you made the spilitter.
Any tips on where to find the best deals on pressed carbon fiber? I see some options on Amazon.. what do you recommend sorry if I missed that on the video.
I want to do this to my car, I have a Ford Fiesta SE. it doesn't have such a fancy front bumper, and has a rubber air dam underneath the bumper. Do you reckon I should build my splitter off the bottom of the air damn, so that I get the aero effects the splitter are supposed to bring?
@@HQGARAGE thanks for getting back to me! I appreciate your input! My plan in tandem with this is to also build an underplate for my car, starting at the level of the rubberized air dam, supported by equally long brackets. If I build it from that, I was thinking to use ABS and have it extend past the edge of the airdam. I mostly am curious of if the splitter would even be effective and do splitter stuff if I built it higher off the bumper. I know that'd look cleaner, too. I just don't know enough as to the aero effects of both. Thanks so much for your time, I appreciate you!

Great work! Looks Amazing.. Hey I have a WRX front lip that I'm custome fitting on a different bumper, but the lip is wider than my bumper like 2.5". Where do I cut to shrink it and make it fit? Love your wk, Thx in Advance.
I would maybe cut it in 3rds and have the pieces and connect kind of like this one 3Pcs Universal Car Front Bumper Lip Chin Bumper Body Kits Splitter Diffuser for Honda for BMW for Benz Carbon Fiber Look/Black www.amazon.ca/dp/B07YNLNW6T/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_iVtNDbJGFQ6HG
I would look into getting a sheet of Aluminum or a material called e-panel. APR I know makes Aluminum ones for the strength and durability but also very light
Great job man I went cheap and bout eBay plastic splitter for my car and we’ll I cracked it coming onto a gas pump island I wanna make my own outta sheet metal but the stuff you used looks great! Where can you find that at?
Nope 👎🏻 I ended up redoing the splitter after I got the bumper painted. I used bolts, washers and Nuts to secure it down. You can see what I did in this video th-cam.com/video/sZHFNpYbtUc/w-d-xo.html
@@HQGARAGE yeah thats what I'm going to do now. At first I was going to pay 500 to get it welded. The thing about bolts is I can't get my hand in there. Bolted won't go no where
Can you take the bumper off? Would that help? The other option would be to use a product like a Rivnut. It is like a Nut that is fastened into the bumper and the bolt threads into it.
@@HQGARAGE yeah I could do that again. I took it off once to switch out my grill but when I installed the lip I just jacked it up. Just iffy about taking it off again. The only thing is I had crooked 1st time the drilled next to it 2nd time now scared holes too close
Wow!! GREAT, easy to follow video. I've been wanting a front splitter for my Charger. But some of the prices out are ASTRONOMICAL for something with quality, and/or is not going to fly off after you hit 2nd gear. And for showing the ease of how you turn up the sides too? I'M DOING THIS (LOL). After viewing several of your other videos, you've just gained another subscriber. I look forward to seeing more of Vlogs, and video uploads. (Side note: What carbon material did you use for the splitter, by the way? Please?)
Thanks for subscribing and watching some of my videos. I truly appreciate that. The Carbon material is actually and ABS plastic that had a carbon Fiber imprint stamped into the plastic to give it the carbon look. I have been told it’s nearly impossible to find anywhere
Nice job bro! Looks nice. I just wanna give my humble opinion. Could you have made it bigger so you can mount it to the chassis? Maybe it would have more stability.
Thanks Man and yes I agree it could have been extended to attach to the chassis for sure. I actually ended up trimming an inch off and cut the wings off and it was rock solid. It was also just for show and would fill the gap between the bumper and the ground when I aired out.
@@HQGARAGEIt definitely looks real good. Im gonna have to try to make one myself using your method. I have a cadillac ats coupe, and we basically have no aftermarket parts. Everyone buys the same ebay front splitter lol.
Great work! Looks really nice, and the fins add a lot to it. Only thing I would be worried about is that it is just mounted to the bumper, is it not a bit flappy, when you are going fast? Most ones I saw are much longer and even connected to the frame. How was your experience so far?
I did the same thing but mine flew off after going 50mph. Is it because the plastic was too thin or is it because the splitter is too big? I wish I could show you a picture.

This is absolutely true when working with real Carbon Fiber. The ABS plastic with CF print on it is NOT actually carbon Fiber

whats the best way to drill a hold in the abs plastic to put the splitter rods in? wouldn't the abs crack around the drill hole when drilling?
I just used a drill bit and never ever had a cracking issue and I can tell you the splitter has seen some major abuse.
Looks good! 👍
