Construction 101: - never pull back on a skillsaw - never cross cut with your arms/hands/fingers in the way, hand saw or powered saw(lucky you only had a cut) Just an advice. Steel shows no mercy on human flesh, I've seen it.
Nice idea! Made mine even cheaper than that. Don't have a Lowes nearby, but have a Home Depot right up the street. I used styrene baseboards (for the inside of a house..lol). And only have to make one cut on each side for the length. Around 6 bux a side. Including paint and primer, I got around 20 bux in both sides! :)
Good job ....I did this exact Same thing on my tiburon back in 2007 and even made a front splitter Just need a big enough pvc board which are not cheap (got them free from work) but still cheaper Then the alternative. ...can even wrap them in carbon wrap
When you were using the hand saw I was waiting for you to cut yourself.....then sure enough you did lol, skirt extensions look great but Some ppl should not use power or hand tools lol
Does the paint stick well? I’d think with a surface that smooth it might peel easily.. but great video! Definitely gonna take this route to do mine, thank you! 👌
Its about 5/16" thick, 5.75" wide and 8ft. long. Also since its pvc, you can heat form it with a heat gun to soften it, bend to shape, let cool and retains that shape. This has many possibilities for other mods, and def. cheap cost. PVC pipe glues work on this as well.😉..✌✌
Very good idea pal they look good although you should never use tools again. Sawing towards your hand and then your grinding disk was off centered or broken how you have all your fingers is beond me :) nice DIY though
Awesome video with the side skirts. Wonder if that would work for a front lip and rear diffuser. Oh and use a guard and some gloves when you're using the grinder. Your hands will thank you.
Would work on the front lip/splitter, but finding this in a size large enough would be the problem. Most people just get large sheets of ABS plastic from the hardware store to do that with. Might be difficult to use on the diffuser, because of the bends sometimes involved in making those. But it might work, I've never made one of those before. ;)
It depends where u live in europe we need to buy if from someone who made it and have certificat (tuv) so we can Atest it and be legal... Yeah so stupid, but whatever...
Damn bro that looks awesome good job I'm thinking about doing this on my e46 I need something to hide my underglow I wonder if it would be thick enough to hide it
Unless you break them like the owner here says he did, the weather doesn't affect them. They are 'pvc' (the receipt called them that), meaning they are actually plastic. Won't warp or get weak like using wood. ;)
Good job! the skirts look dope! Btw, where'd you get the m3 bumper and how did cost you to get it painted? I'm bout to get one. I bought all my skirts and splitters online wish I would've seen this earlier I could've built my own PC skirts too. Lol
she looks amazing bro she would of looked even nicer if you had wrapped in carbon fiber but thay still look stunning bro thats my next mod on my f10 hv them on the way stunning content bro looking foerword for mor content👌👌👌👌
Advice please, do you think a staggered set of rims: 18x8" ET35/18x9" ET35 wheel sizes would be ok to put onto 225/40/R18 and 245/40/R18 (on a 2009 323i) or those tires aren’t good for the staggered set up? I subscribed too!
It really depends on what you’re going for. I’m sure they’ll fit but that’ll be a meaty tire setup. What I do is convert the width of the wheel to millimeters; for example, my fronts are 10” wide. 10” = 254mm so a perfect low-pro tire size choice would be 255/35/18 but I wanted a stretch for more clearance and lip to fender fitment so I went with 215/40/18
Very useful DIY...got me thinking. I have to ask...can you drive, it it fast, or is it a show car? Great idea, nonetheless. Dangerous craftsmanship skills, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t get cuts and scrapes; with protection and knowing what I’m doing. I think it’s a right of passage to get a DIY handed to you...def be safer than you are on this vid. Good luck on future projects.
Damn I remember getting an e90 as the same time as you started uploading videos remember how you had about 200 subs I believe remember having the same water pump problems anyway I’m happy that your e 90 came a long way something I wanted my e90 to be but unfortunately I totaled it

Also never just self tap into your car. Especially under it.

dumb clean , patience is the key , taking your time getting in done right. Mad respect
3:15 never cut towards your hand, learned that in middle school cooking

Came out clean af!!! Great idea, I'm a Lexus guy but your BMW is 🔥
That angle grinder is like 2 cm away from your hand, gives me anxiety watching him using the grinder
That's a clever idea!
Thank you
Hands down best side skirt extensions vid.

LMAO i was gonna say the same thing then i saw this comment.
Great job on the side skirts. I am building a lower front spoiler like this but using polypropylene ...
Looks dope. You get the PVC from home depot or lowes?
As soon as I saw you make one swipe with the wood saw I was like hes about to catch his hand. Lmao wasn't disappointed
Does the paint stick well? I’d think with a surface that smooth it might peel easily.. but great video! Definitely gonna take this route to do mine, thank you! 👌
Primer before for better results
EPICK! very nice brother 10/10 for the DIY work !
Been waiting for someone to make a diy for this for the E9X. Great job man ✌🏼
What was the size of the PVC that you used ?

What about when they get wet? Won’t they absorb water
Very good idea pal they look good although you should never use tools again. Sawing towards your hand and then your grinding disk was off centered or broken how you have all your fingers is beond me :) nice DIY though

Love this idea! Saves a ton of money from buying it already made lol

You indeed did an excellent job. i am looking to do mine and from your video, i am confident that i will make mine. Thanks
Sick as hell, props..you should do that for a side business.
Bro that’s sick! They came out great! Question, how have they held up throughout the years and also in the rain?
They were great! Until I hit something on the freeway and I broke off my entire skirt 🥺 lol other than that they lasted me a long time!
@@esgworks that happened to me

Nice job but do you know how close you was for that blade to fly apart
what was the size of the pvc sheets you bought and how think?
Hey bro what were the names of those boards?
These look great, well done and thanks for sharing.
Looks good, I’m from Ireland and I have to admit that circular saw is strange looking!
I can’t find PVC UTILITY plastic boards at Lowe’s does it have another name? I walked all through Lowe’s and I couldn’t find it

What thickness of the board which you used? 😊
Great job dude.. Just as easy to make a front lip or splitter. Nice car.
What was the thickness of the board you went with? I went with 1/2" but it looks off imo
Did it look bad? Bc I dont want a crappy job on my e36
@@dreybh7841 did u do it? looking to do this for my e36

Awesome dude!
That's a great idea! Keep up the grind man
looks good but im not felling the wood grain look on the one side.
Great video but geez I wanted to take that spray can and go left to right. Wasting so much paint and time.
Very useful DIY...got me thinking. I have to ask...can you drive, it it fast, or is it a show car?

U saved me around 250$ good video
what material and what dimensions??
I knew that was gonna happen with the saw. Lol
What headlights are those😍
Dope asfff brooo
What are the measurements?
To begin with why not use the straight edge on the out side part. 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Klen 330 yeah I realized after I cut it, but still managed to get it straight so it’s not a big deal
Nice. But should’ve added at least half inch more poke
What is that shaver thing called at 3:49 I’m trying to buy one!
Just a grinder !
i could see that cut coming from a mile away. why would you cut towards yourself with your hand inches from the blade lol
That honestly looks great, wish I would have done this before buying 250 dollar carbon fiber side skirts for my g35 coupe fr
Can you send me a project of them?
What material is that
Great vid. Thanks for sharing.
I am shocked you still have all your fingers :D
What type of wheel did you use
BBS RS740 3pc double step
Qual a espessura do pvc?

good video!
That blade was way to close to your fingers 😁
Self tapping screw, LOL.
I’m doing that I’m not going to spend 500 for the side skirt 👍
How NOT to use a grinder... like the work you've done though. But seriously put a guard on that grinder
You are a genious
