The BluePrint is sold by Febi Bilstien ,but its only distributed in the UK by Blue Print ,but its actually made in Korea, its a clone of the GM Daewoo filters made by Mann & Hummel Korea,,its basically the same filter sold by Blue Print ,....the Blue Print is closer to a actual GM filter
I would have never guessed it was made by Mann+Hummel. They have certain characteristics that I usually can spot in their filters, regardless of brand name. Good Info, man, thanks
@@WhipCityWrencher it's basically a clone of the DongWoo Mann and Hummel GM Daewoo oil filter you cut open earlier that I sent last year, probably the media is slightly different on the inside instead to GM specs
Blue Print is Febi/Swag, their parts are among the best aftermarket in Europe but better use genuine GM filters in GM cars as they don't have much difference in pricing and offer peace of mind. Mann is what i will choose in aftermarket filters, it's a company that only makes filters and related items so they have to watch out their reputation.
I also prefer the Chinese Mahle filter in all aspects! 😃👍 I think the little rubber ring on the inside is for sealing, for avoiding a "short-circuit" as there is no silicone anti-drainback valve. Some filters aim this by a tapered foot of the inner element entering the baseplate, like the Blueprint filter. I think both do their job, but I'd prefer Mahle. 😉

Im with you on the Mahle ! I say the media looks to be 25 to 30 microns ! Mahle for the win and kudos for the blue print being made in the country of origin ! 💪
I like watching these comparison videos. 👍 Interesting to see them; I would say Mahle is the preferred filter today. Nice job Pete, as always! 👍 Nice sharing. Have a great weekend friend! Merri :)
Nice to see! I run Mahle filters on the add on filter/pump on my '75 VW Bug. Now I need to cut the one open I have sitting on my bench from a new engine break in I performed recently.
With the available information, I'd take the Mahle with the additional media and coil spring (my preference). They appear to be made to the same price point.
Mahle always had a great reputation and it seems they are maintaining their standing. The Blueprint looks to be finely made as well, no sloppy glue, etc. the 4 giant holes is kinda funky but it is nice to see them made in the UK. I'd take the Mahle as a first choice but if I didn't have a choice The blue print would be acceptable in a pinch, especially if all I had was the orange can of death. Curly Dog is a rock star. Thanks for sharing! Great Job, Pete!

Mahle, FTW. Well made, more media area, coil compression spring and has the rubber collar around outlet hole to seal clean from dirty side oil filter. With no adbv in either to seal central area, something needed to do that. Blue Print looks to be metal on metal there, with the flat spring, not confident in the seal there. Too bad no published efficiency spec for either. Thanks for vid.
Just been researching filters for a small Kawasaki industrial engine - most of the Mahle filters were stated as having a 28 micron rating. Couldn't find anything for the Blue Print, other than they're about a 1/3 cheaper than the Mahle in the UK.
I stick with the Blue Print, its a OE GM design & even though the Mahle is nice ...its a Mahle Aftermarket. its still made in China.....i rather find a OE Mahle made in Europe under a different vehicle manufacturer that's compatible ,the OE Mahle is usually made in Europe

China for the win. A nicely made filter too. 🤠
If I know the Germans they probably have somebody on site to oversee production. In my experience, they are extremely hands-on.
I will order one of those just as soon as my new Vauxhall comes in.

Yes, it was, Thanks! and have a great day also.😊

The blueprint filter looks like what I'd use right before trading the car in for a new one.
😂😂😂😂...... Yeah, not in the class of the Mahle here, imo.
Mahle for this one.
Just proves Mahle must have very strict manufacturing control in China. Would be interesting to the retail price of these filters in the UK?
They're both around $5-6.
👍

Mahale makes good filters?
Yes
Those are almost like chrome endcaps on the Mahle! Why are they so shiny? 😂
It's a conceptual thing 😂
I'd like to send you three filters. How do I get them to you. Thx

Mahle!
What’s the rated mileage on this filter?
I think GM say if the car burns a minimal amount of oil it can last 20,000 miles.
I couldn't find the Mileage rating for these filters.

The Mahle appears to be a better filter.
Mahle sounds like “male’” or “Mah-lay” in Italian & Spanish, which means Bad in both languages.
