Last week in NYC, Google held a Chromebook-focused event that introduced a wide range of new, updated Chromebook models and some really useful new software features as well. While most of these are iterations on existing Chromebook Plus models, there were a few new standard Chromebooks at the event as well, and we wanted to quickly make an overview video to showcase them all.

It's good to see some nice hardware refreshes. What we also need is a true premium laptop, Pixelbook-like or Surface-like, for those like some of us who would like to upgrade from the usual entry level manufacturers.

I'm glad that new Chromebooks are being released, but I still cannot find a replacement that is as well-made, slim or as elegant as my 2018 Google Pixelbook. It may be getting tired and slow but so far NOTHING has matched the build quality or excellence of design. My fear is that nothing will.

Ok so first off: great to have you guys back on YT. Really missed ya! On the event: Nice to see new hardware and at affordable prices too! I mean that for me is the main take away: Good looking, well built, nice specs NOT1,000 bucks laptops. We really need more of those so that more people can get their hands on a Chromebook, try them and see just how capable they can be. Really looking forward to what the second half of the year might bring!"

Exactly. New Chromebooks with Intel chips and new PCs with ARM chips is so weird. MS must have partially funded the development. I guess that's why we never saw a Chromebook with an 8CX chip either (to my knowledge). Is Google going to have to prop up MediaTek to compete now? I would rather they partner with Nvidia but Nvidia propbably doesn't have the capacity to even worry about consumer laptop ARM chips at this point. The return of the Tegra brand in a Chromebook Plus would be amazing though.

My biggest problems with Chromebook is that dollar for dollar you get far bigger buying power for window hardwares compare to chrome hardwares. Also, there should have been ARM chips running on Chromebook years ago. The best Google tablet was 2nd generation Nexus 7 running Nvidia chip. I have Google slate and it cannot run all of the same apps from my pixel phone. That is a huge problems and it is not in sync with the phone on reading messages already. Meaning it repeat it self again even though I read it days ago. ChromeOS should at the very least run all phone apps at the same phone screen size on the laptop. At the very very least. Googlel would have far bigger market share had they kept using ARM chips. Another pet peeve is eMMC chip on ChromeOS. Seriously? When is the last time you seen it on window laptop? Let alone a N100 chip on window laptop too. It gives 1st time chromebook user a bad experience. Having said all that. I hated WindowOS because I felt like I was working for WindowOS doing all of the maintences all the time compare to ChromeOS. I have been wanting to buy new Chromebook for the last few years but the specs was at least 1 if not 2 years behind WindowOS hardwares. Right now I can pickup a nice WindowOS laptop for $600 from Costco and I am about to run out of patience.

I wish samsung made a newer chromebook with a 4k mini led display with 1,000 nits brightness to replace the 4k super amoled display on my samsung chrome book. My older samsung chrome book with the 4k super amoled display has the intel core i5 processor while the newer samsung chromebook has a 1080p qled display with an Intel core i3 processor. My older samsung chromebook has a better processor and better display than the newer samsung chrome with a lower resolution display and a weaker processor which does not make any sense. Newer devices are suppose to be an upgrade from older devices but apparently that does not seem to be the case with newer products coming out.
