Euro NCAP Crash & Safety Tests of VW Amarok 2022

  • The VW Amarok and Ford Ranger are corporate twins with identical structure and safety equipment. The two vehicles share a common rating, derived from some tests performed on the Ranger by ANCAP and some tests performed by Euro NCAP on the Amarok.
    Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:
    - a frontal impact test, 50% of the width of the car is striking an oncoming deformable barrier, also travelling at 50 km/h
    - a frontal impact test, the car impacts a rigid full width barrier
    - a side impact test, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door
    - a pole test, the tested car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole.
    A series of pedestrian tests are conducted with different impactors, adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form and whiplash tests are performed on a sled as well as AEB pedestrian and cyclist tests.
    Active safety is tested based on the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking car-to-car scenarios, occupant status monitoring (including seatbelt reminders), lane support and speed assistance technologies.

    The average speed of cars is statistically far below 80 km/h. Crash tests should be done at higher speeds.

      Most serious accidents happen at high speeds though.

    It's MORE a FORD than VOLKSWAGEN, explains lousy pole test . More trucks do worse that cars in pole test

      ​@not today TESLA is electric!. All electric cars have great results at the sidepole test. I suppose due to the battery pack at the bottom which gives the car more strenght ?!.

    La mitad del video pertenece a Volkswagen amarok y la otra mitad pertenece a Ford Ranger. No entiendo cómo Euroncap cometió tal error.

      Es la misma base, mismo chasis y motor en la Ford Ranger / Amarok 2023 (Europa) fabrican ambas Ford

      @@simonfratantueno7398 Si ya me di cuenta de eso. Lo que pasa es que ambos son demasiado caros teniendo en cuenta el coche que son. Me parece que están por unos 80 mil euros más o menos
