Beginning Fingerstyle - Working The Little Finger w/ a Martin 000-15SM

- In this upload we work on getting the little finger to cooperate with the bass notes. This is good little exercise for the fretting hand and the picking hand. I hope you enjoy it and it helps you further your journey into the fingerpicking world.
If you hang out till the end, I use a pick on this Martin 00015SM in the outro. I think it has great sound when strummed with a pick.

Randy, I mean this from the bottom of my heart!!! I found you by mistake this morning drinking a cup of coffee and watching TH-cam. I found your Hummingbird review first and then your finger picking video. I am 70, there you go I said it! I played drums starting in the sixth grade. I played in garage bands until the seventies, always drums, but I always wanted to play the guitar! You helped me find a starting place this morning! Here is the saddest part,,,,,,, I have bought over 20 guitars over the years!!!! Looking for that perfect guitar that would play itself when I pick it up! Well, I am still looking !! As I have gotten older I started giving guitars to my grand kids who showed any interest. I gave one Grandson 4 guitars. I have Martins, Gibson, Fender, Yamaha, Epiphone, De’Angelico and more! I love them all but can’t play a one! Thank you, Thank You, I am going to stick with you and follow you ! Let me know where to send the check!!!!! Lol 😅

Great video. I too had a heck of a time forcing myself to use my pinky finger while playing.
I agree too with mahogany top guitars. They are not my favorite. I like a spruce top on my guitars. And no, I don't have the fingers to do it, on the picking hand...lol ...
