Exactly why they got hit. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Should be on the landlord. IF they dont own the building and just rent it.. Id be suing the owner for not having proper safeguards in place.
No shutters and no alarm system. Seriously even a ring system is cheap compared to what you have in store stock. Heck you are a tech shop make your own system with home assistant as well then make a video on how you made said system.
Run the tape back, I bet that person has probably been in your store before!! They always come in before doing this type of stuff and he knew which PC to Grab!!

Running a security system and keeping video tapes for days weeks maybe a month afterwards of your clientel/people who come in and look and or buy a pc will run up some money.More than likely. But you should consider doing it. You may have to have a placard people can see when they come in saying security system active. so they will know.
Roll up garage door. Clamshell locks. Or steel frame with bars exterior door and clamshell locks. I am a business owner myself, i work on cars, if someone stole my tools then you're basically stealing food/money from my home.
Those doors and accordion style gates aren't as cheap around here as you think. They run anywhere from $10,000 to $15,000 making them not a cheap expense at this time for them.
@Metalhead_Geek was actually referring to a machine/welding shop making some steel doors, could even have PC Bros made into the doors. Probably wouldn't cost but maybe 3k to have doors made. Maybe even less. Had barn doors made for my mechanic shop. 2"x2" square tubing horizontal vertical and double diagonal bracing, for 6 total doors for $4000
@@robcooper3171 yeah but what not a single person has thought about is they don't own the building and who knows if they would get landlord permission. Let alone if the landlord would want to have a new lease made up that could cause issues.
Wow, i work at a small computer shop in Michigan and we too were broken into 3 months ago and the guy only stole $130 worth of our petty cash. Of course just like you, fixing our door cost $2500. We've been in business for 25 years and never had an issue. I feel your pain!
That sucks and I am sorry to hear that. The shop owner would have rather given away the $130 or whatever rather than having to deal with the insurance companies and paying deductible.
When you make it that easy to steal from you, generally the only people who stoop that low are looking for their next fix. For a career burglar, that would be no challenge and even criminals like to be challenged in their work.

A lot of you all are not business owners nor understand about running a business. When you're leasing a unit you don't want visible iron bars on your front entrance doors. If this was a thing we would've seen big box stores having bars on their doors.
My local liquor store had a steel gate to cover the door. He lives behind the store but has to drive around cause of a wall. They cut a square out of his steel door and took the lotto machine money in like 5 min.

I had wondered about that. I had taken a walk down the road and had looked back when I passed the store front, and saw the wood in the door. I was HOPING it was a simple case of just the glass breaking. This sucks now.
Two things based on my experience working as a distributor for products sold at smoke shops and gas stations, this is what owners did to deter similar theft. 1. If you ever have to board a door, you should always hide the board part from the outside. This prevents other people from thinking they have an opportunity to rob you, and it ensures the storefront is better represented for your brand. Given that you're a PC store you likely have some sort of signage from a brand you sell, and even if you don't you can have a sign store print something same or next day fairly cheaply. Paste it on the wood on the outside of the door and use painted trim for the outside if it's bad enough, that will also help cover up some of the warping. worst case scenario you can even sticker B0mb the wood outside, and that might even clear up some of the old stickers you get from boards and other brands. 2. Global Industrial makes a removable flush mount parking Bollard you can install in front of your doors to prevent or at least deter cars from slamming into your doors. Placing these at the lot side won't really help you since your walk way is far enough away that they could come in at an angle. Each of these Bollards are around 285.00, and you can remove them if you ever have accessibility issues for your doors. You should honestly have two of these installed at the edges of your door frame to protect attacks like this, many loading docks use them to protect semi trucks from damaging doors so it should work for you. 3. Uline sells galvanized steel retractable security gates, putting one on the inside or outside would help against your brick through window scenario.
Quick history lesson on the city of Louisville for anyone that don't know. Parts in the east like J-town, saint matthews , and even parts of the highlands used to be one of the safest best places to live in the city. Then the city decided to tear down all the projects and everyone that lived in those projects spreaded out across the city. Everyone in projects from the east side(Shepherds Square, Clarksdale etc.) went to J-town, Saint Matthews, The Highlands , newburg and even okalona. I was personally robbed at gun point when meeting a guy i was supposed to be selling a iphone back in 2017 at the wal-mart in j-town. The guy was standing next to his car and when i went up and handed him the phone to check out 2 guys hopped out the car with guns in my face and stole the phone and everything i had in my pockets. This was about 2:30 in the afternoon also. In this case though, i am glad that the guy came at night and only took a few things and it wasn't a broad day robbery. the door sucks but i hope insurance covered everything. Stay safe guys 🙏
I think if I was building expensive pc's in a storefront like that when I was done I would be installing custom malware in every build that as soon as they connected to an internet connection would contact you command and control server allowing to see their ip and includ all the Spyware (Keylogger etc) so you can gain info on these people. You could also have a USB device pre loaded with all of the commands removing the malware so that when a legit customer bought a pc you would just power it on at the store plug-in your magic USB stick and it is auto removed.
The CEX store in the UK, had also been broken into by bunch of lads as well. They will usually break in to steal the expensive stuff and then flip it on ebay at high price.

to be fair, If i were to put myself in a robbers shoes and think like them, that entrance door looks so easy and product is just so easily there to be grabbed. This would definitely need some redesign internally and possibly a better entrance. Of course we do not live in a perfect world so what you had would suffice but not anymore
ram raiding is sadly pretty common where I live. Common extra security measures include a steel roller shutter over the doors and metal or reinforced concrete bollards outside the doors.

You realize how high the deductible on commercial/business insurance is, right? Depending on a ton of factors, a $5000 deductible would be *very* good ($$$) insurance. That means they're at least 5k out of pocket. Even if your home is broken into, you're still out an average of $3000 on a good policy. The only way to get that back is to sue the thief... which generally costs more than $3k/5k to sue and you'll never see that money, anyway.

Usual suspect. Drives a Nissan 😂
Basketball Americans and Altimas go together like salisbury steak and mashed potatoes.

Sorry this happened to you guys. Good on you for bouncing back gracefully.
I mean...for a store with so many pieces of tech you don't exactly have a super anti-theft setup. A glass door? Literally a go ahead and steal invitation
Locks and doors are only made for one purpose and 1 purpose only, To Keep An Honest Man Out.
small business don't really have that kind of cash flow to be able to have the best security
Yea tbh with a big sign and bright lights showing pcs and you only have a glass door to protect them then ur kinda asking to be robbed
They are literally 5 mins from me in a buisiness district. The area of town we are in is the good end of town. Shit happens unfortunately
@Hnftbl lmao 🤣 ya why don't you run your own business and see if you have money for a bit to get a good security system....... this isn't walmart or best buy whwre they make billions on revenue. I'm sure there are months that they only make a little bit..... my guess is they beefed up their security pretty well
Most small shops have roller shutters on the outside preventing break in, Maybe thats something you should ask the landlord about installing
I'm guessing you aren't familiar with the ramrod technique. It is almost as easy to bust through a cinder block wall.
So he hasn't been caught? It looked like you had his license plate on video or was the car stolen also?
Typically it would be a stolen car, or at least stolen plates.
@@spentcasing3990 Yeah this guy seemed pretty dumb so I thought maybe he didn't bother, I'm guessing since he hasn't been caught it's 1 or the other though.
madness run small pc shop over in northern Ireland we just sold a i9 12900k with a 4080, talked with customer helped few custom thing and posted it tracked for to end up losing the 1100 in fraud chargebacks, easy fun build pcs but not dealing with the hassle in store or online much love from the uk keep up the videos dont let it hold youse back
My shop was robbed in a similar manner. In fact, they came back and did it again the next night. I would be on high alert until it is repaired.
I had similar glass doors and it just never occurred to me that someone would steal like that.
Lessons learned.
Sorry to hear about this, Guys. Your fans here are all praying you get that computer back and recoup your losses
Check your local marketplace for spare parts for sale
Craigslist as well. Lots of stolen items are sold on that site where I live
maybe even a facebook marketplace with the whole system on sale. in 2020 midst the covid lockdowns there was a gang in ireland that stole 5 ATM's in rural areas and fled to Northern Ireland which is another country basically. they ended up locked up for trying to sell them on ebay.
We lost over 20 grand to a robbery back when my grandpa ran our repair shop. Almost went out of business waiting on the insurance company to pay up. He had cameras too.
Did you guys see if the cops could match the lincense plate number to the owner and go from there to find the perp?
Probably stole the car too
That was a Nissan Altima; and clearly the Big Altima Energy was strong with that one. There is no way it had legit plates on it
@@TechTimeWithEric Altimas don't even have proper plate brackets, they can only hold temp tags.
i feel so bad for you guys, you are such kind and amazing people why would someone want to steal from you. i hope your buisness is back on its feet 100% ASAP. i love your videos guys keep up the good work!
A lot of businesses here where I live in Los Angeles put steel and cement posts in front of all doors like you have which will stop thieves from using their vehicles to break doors down.
10k$ in damage, bro with that amount of money you can upgrade to a bank vault door, fallout the shit out of that door.
I am sorry that happened. I hop you can recover and go back to normal business soon. Good luck.
I hope this guy gets caught so he can be punished and held accountable
It won’t matter if he turns out to be a an illegal invader.
Even if they catch him he'll be right back on the street.
You guys are a bundle of happy stuff. Super inspired by you guys, it's so painful to see this to happen to you guys. Hope this never happens to you guys again. Cheers guys 🎉
Ofc the thief is Basketball - american lol 😂
lol. Classic European speak.
Sorry to hear that. Hang in there guys
you know what to do this year to stop the madness
TRUMP
Is he running for sheriff in Louisville Kentucky area? Beyond that I have no idea what the President has to do with a PC shop getting broken into...
I had wondered about that. I had taken a walk down the road and had looked back when I passed the store front, and saw the wood in the door. I was HOPING it was a simple case of just the glass breaking. This sucks now.
Don’t worry, they were feeding their families with it.
I dislike thieves!!!
Thieves and liars.
Your video just showed in my recommended feed! My office is LITTERALLY a mile from your store! LOL Break ins in our area are getting CRAZY!
Thousands of dollars in computer parts and you have Wyze cameras lol
Stay safe guys
🙏
The usual suspect.

I am so sorry you guys had to go through this. I hope they catch the guy soon!
Typical suspect 😂😂😂😂
I'm sorry to hear this happened to y'all. Love your videos they are super educational for me! I actually just placed an order this morning and was cracking up at the discount code. However now that I know the story behind it, it's not as funny. Thank you for finding the humor in this situation and also giving us a discount code. Can't wait for my PC!! Keep up the awesome videos!
Oh man the stereotypes…

bro i hope u guys get everything fixed. i try do my part and tell people to buy off u and stuff but i just hope the best for u guys, keep it guys, thxs for the content.
Usual suspects.
to be fair, If i were to put myself in a robbers shoes and think like them, that entrance door looks so easy and product is just so easily there to be grabbed.
It's a crazy amount of racist in these comments I don't know if I should shop here 😢
I don't see how people commenting on a video could possibly indicate the beliefs of the store. Don't be stupid

I feel so sorry for you both that someone did this to your business. Some poeple are so low that they do things like this. I am disabled and unable to work and have saved for months to get my pc parts and build my own pc.. I hope the person is arrested and you you get some of the money back that you have lose. Always watch your videos and really enjoy them hope this does not put you off what you both have worked so hard to achieve. Please keep up the good work and thank you.

Wow! so sorry about that! I work for a police department so I have a particular angle on watching this video. It was a crime of opportunity obviously... not very well planned out... just saw a potential vulnerability and made an instant decision. Not a great HAUL as it were... but definitely caused a huge dent in your infrastructure. All of us that watch you are in your corner!
Sorry to hear this happened. Looking forward to seeing you guys stream on Twitch again in a hopefully safer environment. ❤
I see it's the usual suspects.

I was shocked to see this happen, i work just down the road and dont see break ins around there often.

My old boss had bullet proof glass on all the building windows, and it was only a food place lol
quit asking people for their help. the door isnt over 7grand. secondly you have insurance for a reason.
Not going to lie, the ask for help was a little cringe
The insurance company is probably going to jack up their rates for making a claim.
