Why is it so hard for the law to admit they made a mistake? Even when it's clear they got the wrong person, they still stick to the opinion they once formed. And there are more cases like this
And cops the have immunity from the law if they admit a mistake. Also, there is a concept in law called a "dying declaration". The killer confessed right before he was hanged. That carries a lot of weight in the eyes of the law. Yet, the cops still did not exonerate two innocent men. Yes, I hope they were compensated.
ggurks so many cases like this. They don’t want to soil their record. If they admit to wrong doing they also have to pay the wrongfully accused and they don’t want to do that. So they prefer to allow an innocent rot in jail. It’s disgusting. That should be criminal. They deserve the worst!

@@mercoid That's not the police. The police cant convict anyone. The prosecutor, following the instructions of the attorney general, make convictions. The police can only make arrests and gather evidence.

We are supposed to be innocent until proven guilty but the reality is we are guilty until proven innocent.
You can be in jail waiting for your innocents to be heard and that's just the way it is unfortunately.

These crime documentaries from Australia always leave the viewer frustrated and angry with the criminal justice system they have.
Back then, US criminal justice system was about the same.

And yet their crime rate is lower then the USA.
My dad was an ultimate SOB. No matter what the situations were at the time, but he was still my dad. He toke me for ice cream and to let me play soccer with young boys, but the evil side of him, was torturous. He could be nice and comforting, but that could've changed in a matter of second. However, it didn't changed the fact, that he was my dad.
Everyone always says “That kind of stuff doesn’t happen here”, until the day it does! Crime happens any were the criminals want it to! It’s so sad and so unnecessary! Plenty of people have been brought up in messed up families so that’s just another excuse! God bless the victims and there families and friends!!

Perth has been a primary location in at least 5 of these I’ve recently binge watched. Now I’m going to end up stuck looking in on the history of Perth and it’s attachment to the original “convict colonies”

Western Australia was not not a convict colony when it was founded in 1829. However, development was so slow that around 1870, after other colonies had abandoned convict settlement, WA petitioned the Crown to let it establish convict settlement. I gather that that experiment didn't goose WA"s economy and was quickly abandoned. Edward Gibbon Wakefield, the founder of South Australia made a big deal of not allowing convicts and South Australia was the only colony that never had them.

I love how they always say that a criminal murdered someone because he was abused as a child. If every person that was abused as a child started murdering people our world would be a blood bath. Being abused is no excuse to murder innocent people that have never done anything to you, some maybe even went through same abuse as the murderer.
I was abused as a child and if anything it made me afraid of violent people. I don't think that all people who have been abused are violent.

Everyone is built psychologically different. Everyone copes with things different. I agree that everyone who is abused does not go on to abuse or kill etc. But sometimes people with underlying mental issues snap. Circumstances etc also play a huge part. Psychology is not that simple. The past abuse obviously played a major part. It’s amazing what affects you in adulthood that stems back to your childhood, yet you had no idea. That’s why psychologists always start with your childhood.
everyone deals diffrent with that is done with them.. everyone feels it diffrent.. everyone sees it diffrent...
and I can understand you want to take your anger and frustration out..

1 with drugs
1 with extreme sports
1 with abusing girls
1 with abusing men
1 with abusing animals..
and 1 with murder..
So yes... it got for sure something to do with what happened..

Well I would go as far as to say it is a blood bath.... but
Psychology is not that simple my friend, yes abuse may contribute but its not the only factor. There is underlying psychological issues that compound with physical or mental abuse to create someone like this. I'm not sure who it is that is trying to use that as an excuse in this case but I think its pretty dumb to assume that just because you are abused you will become violent and even more dumb not to assume there is something else there as for psychological issues.
The poor guy who was shot in the head while asleep woke up & likely in the dark probably trying to work out why he's bleeding profusely from the head & can't move & is gurgitating trying to understand what happened. Must of been frightening as I doubt he would of knew he'd been shot but was fighting for his life with no help around. I struggle to believe he knew what happened.
I used to have a sleep phobia and can't even begin to imagine how that man was able to sleep after being shot for no reason at all but sleeping...just found out he died from his injuries 3 years later, so tragic.
I can't understand how random he was with his victims, its truly terrifying.

What a coward. I always wondered how they can call themselves men after killing defenseless people (elderly or even kids) in the manner he did. If you think you're a bad-azz, then fight someone your own size to the death instead of hiding and shooting an unsuspecting person.

And this is why everyone should have at least one dog in their family. Strangers don't get to sneak up on you if you have a dog in the house!
True, if it is a stranger, but what if the killer is someone you, and the dog knows?

And, self-defense classes. I've yet to encounter one of these cases where the victim had a black belt in the martial arts. (Although this guy hitting people while they sleep is just ridiculous.)
Yes! As annoying as my little barkster might be during the day by barking at everything from cars driving by, to the winter porch cover blowing in the wind, or even me just dropping something on the floor in the next room, one thing I do appreciate is that his vocalness would definitely alert us in the night if anything were to ever happen. Appreciate and love your loud mouth dogs! They aren't trying to bug you, just being sure that you are safe 24/7! :)
@@TheSybil47 my particular dog will bark at everyone even us, not a warning bark but his excited barking would be enough warning for us anyway. My parents however had a dog that, I don't know if they trained him this way or if he just was this way, but he would growl at anyone coming through the door, know them or not only if they entered without one of our immediate family members living in the house otherwise he was very friendly and ready to greet our guests. He, however, had on many occasions alerted my parents to sketchy people on walks outside at night (lived in not the best neighborhood) even if, say, my dad would stop to talk to somebody to chat seemingly showing the dog that he was friendly. That dog could just tell if something was off about someone. He never did bite anyone but that's not to say he wouldn't have if he had to so I'm not sure about that one. But he never barked in the house so if he did you knew something was up, barely barked outside in the yard except to communicate with us. Never showed discomfort around us four wild kids growing up. He was quite a relaxed and tolerant dog, and obedient to T yet he had amazing instincts and was the most protective dog I've met. He really set the bar for my expectations of good dogs at an early age. And of course I had to do a 180 and go pick the most stubborn breed on the planet to raise instead lol. Shiba Inu if you're wondering, but they still make me proud. :)

Before my fiance became a trucker (we now live in the truck) he'd do that every morning before bed. Check the door, the slider glass door, and all windows. And we were on the second floor as an added precaution. Also had those chain locks in addition to the standard door and dead bolt.

I always check that my gun is near by, an loaded.

Roderick Sloan, I can answer your question. If the parent is psychopathic/narcissistic then it will take the intervention of society to control these messed up, their brains are wired wrong, humans. The kids suffer greatly under the torture of these creatures. A kid has got nowhere to go, and worse, the parent threatens, what goes on in this house, stays in this house! So society needs to hurry up and get on the ball with a way to separate these dysfunctional humans from the rest of society. One thing they can start with is get an Island to put these violent criminals at where they can live and work. They could have a tracking device put deep in a muscle. Because we let them out because we feel sorry for them and think that they ought to have their freedom. Well give them their freedom if you feel sorry for them, just keep them away from us! I'd like to see new born males get vasectomies so that real humans who really want to have kids will have them. Maybe it will lesson the chance of bad genetics being passed on. Something like that hasn't happened in China, so it will probably never happen. I guess psychopaths will just keep breeding and over take the world and destroy it.

Yes, and we evolved them along with us, when we, as cavemen, needed them to watch out for predators, clean up our camps, and help us hunt. I think we owe it to that species to continue keeping them with us. When I take mine on errands, I feel safer. I feel he watches the car while I run into stores, etc., besides keeping us alert at home. Almost zero victims in these crime vids that I watch every day have dogs with them.

The horror of these types of killers is that they don't kill for a perceived wrong-whether real or not- but just to be killing.So anyone/everyone becomes a target. The worst is having him come in your home while sleeping to abuse and kill you.Even if you were armed you have little time to focus and think about what you should do before he is on top of you.
Own a couple of small dogs that sleep in your bed. Have a semi-automatic pistol loaded with one in the chamber...safety off, on your bedside table. Also, make sure your bedroom is at the end of a long hallway with squeaky floorboards.
It never fails to amaze me how willing we are to hold innocent people in prison, for no other reason than to “save face”, for those whom convicted the innocent. Not all will agree with me, but I believe that a child's spirit can be so badly broken, first by one or both parents and/or by school kids, sometimes to the degree that he cannot help himself but inflict pain on others to this horrible degree. Does it happen with every abused, neglected or unwanted kid? No. (I was abused and haven't killed anyone...in fact, I consider myself a kind and good person BECAUSE I know what it's like to be deeply hurt by a parent.) HIs father clearly did him wrong, sending him out into the world with no healthy sense of self, where others continued to invalidate his worth as a human. Devastating to a kid. Couple that with rage over it and you can have a person who is so broken, they must break others. It's NOT an excuse for his actions. There is NO excuse. But it IS a reason.

A man with likely a deep scratch on his face should ALWAYS be publicized in cases such as this where a woman puts up a fight.
The police should have made that public the next day after the first murders, in case the man had a wife or co-workers who would notice it.

The murderer was hanged. One of the guys falsely imprisoned only finally got his conviction overturned after 40 years of fighting it. He was innocent and the true murderer confessed and gave evidence only the true killer could have given. It's shocking it took 40 years for his name to be cleared and this shocking injustice to be acknowledged!

My mother was diagnosed psychotic. She killed people. I saw her hit her mother. I didn't approve of her behavior. I tell children if you don't like adults behavior then don't behave like them.

I watch these types of shows all of the time, but for some reason, this one bothered me. It was slow and the murdering long and then they kept recapping on the murdering. I'm thinking to myself, is this for a normal audience or for the perverted one? So I would fast forward and that one part when he was killing her with his hat on, I muted it and watched through my crossed fingertips at one corner just to determine when it was over. That scene must have played like for a minute and a half. I don't know, this one just annoyed me.
I must admit, that I am being fascinated watching the case like this one. I am not a sicko to watch suffering of other people before my naked eyes. I think of it as an educational in which helps me to identify those people that are specious. Apparently good on a surface, but not really so. He is lurking in the dark and killing innocent people at random. His brain must be dead, and his body doesn't know it. That guy is a pure evil.

Why the step back to become physically uninvolved with her death? I understand that by rendering her unconscious he would have no struggle in killing her. You have to put so much pressure on the neck from 3 to 7 mins now sit in a quiet room and look at your watch silently for 7 minutes, it can be longer then you realise.

That’s to bad cause Australia is a beautiful country. Most people are really nice, the nature and the animals are gorgeous. I’v spent some 3 + years there, never met anyone nasty or bad, I was even hitchhiking, nor did I run into any venomous animals 😊

Sad that the cops beat the shit out of the two innocent guys and/or deprived the shit out of them to get confessions and looked no further. Perhaps they could have saved some or all of the others if they had done a legitimate investigation.
And still after new information was provided the system shut it down because they didn’t want to be exposed.
This still doesn’t change the facts that there are 49 million kangaroos in Australia and 3.5 million people in Wales which means if kangaroos were to invade Wales each person will have to fight 14 kangaroos. 😃
