Ive been visiting Peru since I was little as my parents are form there and I was born and grew up in New Jersey. Usually the winters in Lima feel more like fall weather to me compare to New jersey. If you want more year round spring like weather Trujillo is where you might want to visit. If you go further north like Mancora, Piura or Punta sal. These to areas in Piura is more Caribbean weather as it is closer to Ecuador.

It doesn't rain in Lima, you were lucky to experience the very few days that it drizzled. Also Mexico city is at 2000 meters altitude, that's not for everyone.

As an Australian looking to diversify/ hedge against sky rocketing cost off living, I appreciate your content. Tyrany in the form of taxation and inflation has become overwhelming in Australia for the average citizen. Most accept without challenging the narrative and or exploring other options or possibilities.
Hence why bloggers such as your self are becoming popular.
    Many thanks and take care.

Mexico City can definitely get cold, but it’s not like being in New York City. Can’t always depend on warmth & sunshine, especially because there is low humidity here. And keep in mind that because of building codes (no insulation), it’s often colder inside than outside, and central heating is not a thing. And we do have a rainy season (not sure how long you were here). Also, I find friendliness here in Mexico City to be huge - it’s just that it’s a gigantic city (like 22Million people in the metro area), so the attitude is just slightly “cooler” than in other parts of Mexico. But there have been plenty of times when I have been standing on a corner looking at my phone, when someone has come up to me & asked if I needed help finding something - I think because I live in an area where there are very few foreigners, because it’s less likely to happen in foreigner/expat heavy areas.

Lima is a city of parks, you are never more than a 15 minute walk to one. Many are small and unimpressive, but if you google earth Lima, you’ll see the entire coast line from Callao to Chorillos is called the green coast, because it’s all one long park.

Mexico city has double the population of Lima so you will find a difference in how the city and its residents conducts itself. Mexico city is much busier with tourism plus expats. Mexico city is not next to the water so it will be different in terms of what vibe you are looking for. . since MEX city is WAAY bigger and more sprawled out.

    NYC's weather ranges from -20 Celcius (-4 F) to 35 Celcius (95 F).
    Lima's weather ranges from 15 Celcius (59 F) to 25 Celcius (77 F).
It is true that due to a natural weather phenomenon, Lima does not get a lot of sun, but it never snows and only drizzles in Lima.
Lima is very conservative society with world class gastronomy (food). If you are a partier and need sun all year round, Lima is not for you.
