Can you post an in-depth video of your experience in Cali and the difference from Lima? Especially when it comes to Salsa dancing. I am Afro Cuban and I know that there are several Cuban/Peruvian timba bands in Lima. I want to visit both cities within the next two December holidays. This year I’ll be in Gran Canaria. Thank you.
Hi all. We have a big house for sale in Chiclayo, Peru (north of Peru). 15 minutes by car to the sea shore (Beach Pimentel ) . The house is a four flors building. We use to rent appartements to people on a yearly basis, extendable. But my father died last year and he was taking care of that. So now we want to sell that property. Chiclayo city has much better weather than Lima. It is not foggy at all. Chiclayo is called the city of the eternal spring or summer. Peruviens surfers, the real ones, are all coming from Chiclayo. if anyone is interested let us know. Price is currently at USD 300.000 Ideally you can live in there in the first floor, and rent to people the other floors. It is a well built building with all the architecture rules and laws. The house is located in a middle/upper classe neightbourhood. named FEDERICO VILLARREAL (CHICLAYO)
Renting an apartment in a middle class neighborhood with 3 bds(eg, San Miguel, Magdalena) costs U$500-600 + internet/cell 100 + electricity 100 + health insurance (one person above 60 yrs) 400 + fresh food 400. Total monthly (2 persons) = 1600 + 400 (2 person for health insurance) = U$2000. No way is possible to live in the USA paying just 2000 (a couple)
I see so many of these of these videos, on cost of living and I see the average for total cost is around $2000 per month, but most people don't look old enough for them to be of retirement age, so where does the money come form?
hmmm u had mentioned in other videos on harsh winter , mold issues traffic issues like a big city and violent venezela immigrants who harass and act as mafiaso to collect $$...? It seems there are issues in Lima ? thks for good info
It's awesome for you, bc you can afford to live in Miraflores. You are living amongst upper middle class limeños, which are barely 5% of the population. ¡Salud!😉
@@maryannwaters339 but for Americans with a pension, 401k , or Social Security....it's much cheaper and better than the US. Miraflores is nice and better than San Isidro because of the restaurants, casinos, beach, etc ... If you go to parts outside of miraflores, the food just gets cheaper at restaurants and grocery stores because there aren't many vivandas or wongs. Metro is cheaper than those ...and the Mercado's are super cheap for fruits and vegetables.

It all depends how you want to live. The minimum wage in Peru is $300 USD a month and that's for normal people who work 10 hours a day, 6 days a week at a store, and your unemployed as you get older. However if you're a professional in Peru that's not the case so much.

Hi Claire, very interesting points of view, how long are you planning to stay in Peru? I guess that expats/digital nomads move around quite often.
