+ngc2005 really! I also grew up with them, but after the indian and the best drumer in Can left, I felt so pity for them, but my support will go on 4ever
I noticed that too. On right an left channels. I would love a quick guitar lesson from both of them. Dave has tone that’s awesome. Don’t know if it’s a pedal or not. He is the metal King, Love them both. My favorite band. The Gold top that Tom plays I saw Deryck play it years before. I study them!!!
Man, Stevo is an awesome drummer! Very creative and technical drummer. I really miss him but Frank is great as well, he's drumming on Goddamn I'm dead again is just pure awesomeness!
Man, they were in their early 20's and look at them killing it. Deryck's amazing voice and rhythm playing, Dave's killer, fast and energetic solos, Stevo's double bass and crazy fills, and Cone's low-end bass foundation. I love this lineup a lot. This is their prime.
Dude 100% agreed. Dont know how many times i had this on my TV connected to my stereo on full volume back in early 2000´s. Still as good today, energetic and nostalgical.
+TheLovee4musicc From what I heard they are back and better than ever...haven't seen them live yet but Dave just rejoined the band like 12 days ago, and they are working on a new album. Deryck is healthy and not getting wasted anymore, so I expect he will sound a lot better from now on. I'm very excited to see these guys live when they come back to Chicago.
the most that I'm shocked is that they did it almost without rest in between, especially for Derick! it would be really tired for them, but they just did it !
Not to start any kinda controversy because I enjoy both bands but I came here from a video of a Blink-182 concert and holly crap the energy level of this concert is just so much higher that its insane! These guys really give it their all on that stage, its looks like crazy fun, going to a Sum 41 concert is officially on my to-do list!
That lead guitarist literally has Deicide speed when he wants it, and that first song is basically early 2000s era BFMV type metalcore. They're a great fucking band, period.
I dont know if you know Daves history, but he left the band late 2000's because he was not being fulfilled in the music they were playing. Cant fault him really, because he is easily one of the best players of his era if not all time. His technical abilities were wasted a bit. Although Sum41 has some metal based b sides called Reign In Pain, WWVll 1&2 on does this look infected that I think is the peak of their musical ability. Pretty good stuff. If they had released a full metal album it would have been an all time great.
I miss these days. Sum 41 was passionate and they had all their members. If only Tom Thacker had joined them back then. Deryck could have focused on singing and keyboards and Tom Rhythm Guitar. They were also younger so you could feel their energy. I loved these days.
As a drummer myself, I've always felt Stevo's best quality was less how hard he hits than how fluid & liquid he is. The parts may be simple. But his hands have a great limber feel. Much more like a Josh Freese or a Derek Grant. Listen to what Stevo's doing on the toms @18:06 & you can hear this in action. It's lubricated, smooth; like jelly. He makes it all sound like jello. Thats what I miss most. PS Zummo's a hell of a drummer too. He hits hard and loud, consistently. More of a Dave Grohl / Bonham / Barker (etc.) style. The kind that pretty much everyone likes for rock music, because it's crazy consistent. Every hit is articulated. Everything is hard, precise
Honestly as an up and coming Metal guitarist/Lead Singer, Deryck Whibley, I’d not only love to do a song, with him (and Sum 41).., if the day ever came if we toured together, I have a gut feeling backstage, we’d hit it off, as if we both went to high school together
Why can't the sound engineers get the mix to sound like this live all the time? All the videos from present time suck. The mix in audio is always horrible.
Live venues just don't have the same budgets anymore, the music business is spread very thin these days. But you should look up some of their new shows, they actually sound pretty good again now with three guitars and Dave bringing the Brownsound again.

I was thinking the same while watching in too deep, but look at their recent concert in hellfest 2023, what a performance! They still got it
Iam waching sum41 in last tour 2024, and sometime i still want waching this video again and again,
correct .. i watched them march 2024 in Malaysia for asian tour.. they never age. still awesome
I STILL rock out to this version of No Brains to this day. Perfect live version.
2023 and still as good as back in 2003. Truly a masterpiece live!
This show is the proof of why they are my fave band. The moment in No Brains...oh my...
That breakdown is so simple but my God is it EPIC! Best performance of that song I've ever heard by far. Should've been written that way all along!
This exact live performance of No Brains... Made it my favourite Sum 41 song!
Ok maybe this band isn't going through good times now but I will always like it no matter what. I'll miss Stevo :/
I agree sum 41 4 life
TheLovee4musicc did you see Dave Brownsound return for the APMA's last week?? it was GLORIOUS!!
Thank god brownsound is back

yes!!!! Im so glad dave is back. I wonder if stevo is truly leaving cause that would suck, but at least dave is back hes the best!!!
Damn... Deryck's voice and guitar playing is so great when he's not drunk :S
It's sad but true 😶
I think here he was very drunk
He was drunk here
i also think he was very drunk in this concert...
@@jakedalla hahaha, at this time of course they were so drunk ;)

Best Deryck vocals ever. Sum41 is amazing, wish I could be born to be a teen at late 90s and early 00s
Man, I just love this live version of Steve singing Pain For Pleasure in Tokyo. 1:00:38 👨🏻🎤🎤
They really need to make a new live dvd!!! Their shows these days are next level!
Dave is so fucking good at guitar...Tom has done an excellent job as a replacement but damn Dave has always been missed
Sum 41 still puts a big ass smile in my face after all these years
Damn Stevo really knows how to end a concert...
Great show, they sound incredible!

2017 and still listening. Man what a stellar performance. So much energy. Love those guys.

do they even play anymore?

TheOvalOYED Really?? Where did you hear that?
TheOvalOYED Oh yeah, I saw that, but I didn't know that he might join back.
TheOvalOYED has it been taken down? i can't find it
actually don't worry, found it haha

Love this concert so much. Miss old times ♥.
He left right before the album underclass hero was released. Yes this video was posted in 2012 but the concert was not in 2012
It’s from 2001 mate
So underrated. I feel like everyone in America just kinda forgot about them. They deserved to be way more popular than they were.
Awesome!! i love finding full shows that are actually recorded well!!
This is amazing, thanks for the upload!
Watching during pandemic 👊
their best live performance ever.. period!

This is my favorite concert. They are best live. Playing fast it’s now 20 years since this recording. Sums forever 💋🎼🎸🎶❤️🇨🇦

Who's hitting the snare at 28:11 if Steve is using both hands to drink?
+IFailedLife he's using his privates
+Shaun Gruver YESS XD was just about to say that!
he was using one hand on the snare and one to drink
+mars9390 he switched the drink from the right hand his left while the snare was still going though.
