To this day this is still one of the most impressive live performances I've ever seen. The sheer skill and stamina all these dudes have to constantly run around while still nailing vocals and progressions. That shit is crazy hard.
Very few bands out there can even approach the level of energy that these guys do while still nailing absolutely every aspect of their music. Will forever respect and love SotY
paul yoda no disrespect to AC/DC or anything, but they definitely don't have this much energy live. Sure Angus runs around the stage and hops on one leg and all of that, but how many backflips and rolls and crazy jump kicky things do they do in their sets? Energywise there isn't much of a comparison...
paul yoda he was talking about the energy of their live performance. And if it would've been about the music quality, neither band is that good from a technical standpoint.
I AM FROM ARGENTINA AND THIS GOLDEN ERA WAS THE BEST TIME OF MY LIFE, THIS BAND TOGETHER WITH KORN, LIMP BIZKIT AND DEFTONES MADE MY DAYS SO HAPPY THAT I COULD CRY NOW, NEW METAL WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!
Man, a guy from the crowd climbed to the stage, danced with one band member and dived right into the crowd (no pun intended). How I wish live shows were like this now. Pure love and passion
Just heard the news Greg just passed away. Condolences. Cheers for this epic live! Have not seen a single band right now as worthy as the energy of these guys.
Rest In Peace to Greg! He had already left the band before the writing and recording of this debut album that they are playing songs from, and is not present at this live show, He was in the band from their formation in 2000 until 2002. This album came out in 2003. Story Of The Year is forever a Top 5 Band in all Rock History, #1 in Post-Hardcore! Peace.
he writes basically all of the melodies for their music. hes by far the most musically gifted member. his name is phillip sneed. hes no longer with the band though
These guys were amazing live, the energy and the entertainment factor was always so high. Flipping over each other, I have seen them throw guitars at each other and keep playing... switch instruments and keep playing. One of the best live bands I have seen to this day.
I remember seeing them so many times when I was a kid they were so entertaining yet would stay on point with their sound! They must've put so many hours into their stage presence and it really shows! Long live story of the year!
Brilliant. Absolutely amazing how they can put on that kind of stage performance and still nail the songs. I mean the harmonies are perfect, even after a barell roll three backflips and a cartwheel.
19 dislikes r u kidding me??? Dude does a backflip off his amp + all the other antics going on…. i bet those 19 people can't even do a cartwheel… Long Live SOTY
Thanks for uploading this one. I was at this show. It was insane. The band sounded incredible. At one point, they started going backstage and bringing random things on stage. The energy these guys brought live was unmatched.

Despite their skills & everything else, they're the fittest & most energetic band I've ever known. I'll always be a huge fan UNTIL THE DAY I DIE by giving them my respect. 🤟🏻
I'm so impressed at how they still play their instruments😂 I don't know how they're getting the right notes while basically doing gymnastics I'm just glad they did Anthem of Our Dying day Seriously my favorite one I'm obsessed with until the day i die and Sidewalks It's so weird how now you actually go online to get everything. I had to buy my copy of their page avenue at hot topic 😂.

I started to listen them back in 2019 (when I was 14) because of the Need for Speed OST "And the hero will drown", and... damn, this is my favorite band. Watching this, I really wish they can do another performance... could be a dream for me, being there. :'D

Early 2000s when MTV used to play actual Alternative Rock bands.

He's got a band of his own - Greek Fire, you should check it out. It's more alt.rock/prog-rock, but still great
