@@sandra127100if we don't live there, how do we get the local news? I'm relying on TH-cam as well and have found many local resources that are providing information that local news would not take time to provide.
Prayers for all affected by Helene and the coming of Milton. Please evacuate if at all possible. I have gone through 2 bad hurricanes and a typhoon. It's scary but a lot of work cleaning up the mess they leave behind.
There is a video where a local, telling her story to a personal video channel, that FEMA visited 5 days ago (6 now) asking what they needed. They said safe water, food, etc. They haven't seen nor heard from them nor any other Gov Service since. Their only help has been from local people, churches and stores.
FEMA is a Management Agency. All they have ever been is a place that will provide you with some emergency funds. I lived in Florida for 40 years and now NC for 20.FEMA does not come in and fix everything and make you whole again. The first response is always neighbor helping neighbor, then usually churches and community centers start setting up donation centers. In Florida when a hurricane was coming they always told us to be prepared to live upto a week without electricity and if you get a direct hit that could be longer. They wanted you able to take care of yourself for upto a week .Food water, meds, gas,pet food, all of that.I went through 3 hurricanes in 2004. The 3rd one took the roof off of the house. We moved to NC in 2005.We started seeing the same prep in winter for a snow storm that we would see in Florida for a hurricane. We got hit by a bad ice storm in 2009 and lost power for 10 days with a tree fallen across our driveway and no way to get the car out.Luckily our neighbors were able to get some things for us and our fireplace kept us warm. My son was hit by hurricane Florence and FEMA gave him his emergency funds right away. Then they waited for a case worked to come inspect there house. They had homeowners and flood insurance thank goodness because they had 3 feet of water in their house for 6 days before the waters reseeded. I think the got a total of about $4-5 thousand from FEMA over the coarse of a year.A lot of what you recieve in aid depends on your income and if you have insurance or not. I remember they did offer low interest loans for repair money. the biggest helps was volunteers that came from all over to help out. Just like they have done and are doing for Helene. But no one should expect FEMA to be the fair godmother that puts there life back together. Tornado, flood, earthquake, wild fire, ice storm, whatever mother nature throws at you ,you have to face it and deal with it.
75 yr old in Arizona. My prayers are heartfelt. This catastrophe is something I’ve never experienced. You are blessed to have family, each other & your precious baby! You are stronger than you think, with GOD on your side.
I hate it when people are giving their advice and not realizing that these folks never expected it would get this bad !keep your negative comments to yourself and spend time praying for all these people 🙏!god bless all of the hurricane victims!
greetings and best wishes to all.. from the Netherlands, my wife and i (both veterans) both volunteer firefighters donated to a friend (US Marine vet i met during deployment) that lives in the area that was hit (they lost their home entirely)... for the rest of you all... all i can offer is our prayers and our thoughts.
Same here I seen before this interview. This is where we will find the truth of what’s going on in these places. The media forgets that all will came out
Mike, a very informative video. You are a good interviewer. Good questions and you let the person tell their story without injecting yourself unnecessarily.
It's so sad. When I watched the Rhodes video I cried. I've watched them and they got us into homesteading. I do believe it was 8-9 years ago. Glad you guys are safe.
Yeah, I thought that was Justin Rhodes place. I saw this gentleman & his family too today on his video. This gentleman was out there working to help the Rhodes Family. Very Cool that he is on your channel today.
Wow! Oklahoma! thank you so much for praying! I am so amazed with all the pouring out of prayers help, supplies, & people coming together to rescue, serve and give supplies to those in need as well as so many coming together such as yourself Oklahoma. Not only Oklahoma, but Kansas, Texas, Wyoming, even us Floridians are helping even though some of us are devastated here as well, & those as far West as Colorado and Utah, as North as Iowa and Missouri & as far East as Texas, Carolinas and Virginia helping each other coming down and helping us Southern States, our Beautiful States. This is what Great American is made of, great strength & love of the people of America, we stand together and will continue to do so until everything's rebuilt and healed again! I know what it's like to go through a hurricane and what it's like to clean up afterwards. I grew up in Florida and went through several storms as a child & even now these last 2 hurricanes, going through these storms as an adult, it doesn't get any easier. My daughter, her family and I needed to be evacuated to her in-laws. It was a new house, though framed, with trees all around and with a new born baby they didn't want to take any chances and neither did i. While traveling, even though it was a small travel time window, we received an emergency warning on our phones going off at the same time, as we traveled it became harder to see through the windshield of our car, and that's when we received the emergency broadcast warning of a tornado in our area and it announced to quickly take cover & to get to safety! That tornado that was announced on the Emergency Broadcast System, was the huge tornado everybody's speaking about, that hit just a few neighborhoods away from our family's and my daughter-in-law's house, that killed so many. We were so thankful to God that we managed to get to safety in order to take cover just in time! My husband was extremely thankful, because before we left, he had to rush & travel to our home about an hour and a half away to help our son, who was house sitting and watching our dogs, to board up. Due to the fact Milton was going to take that path right over our house. I remember thinking I was a bit concerned and worried however I knew if it died down enough to a cat one we should be okay but there's no guarantee! With all the training I've received through CERT, SCUBA Diving, my family and friends, my parents my teachers and even officer Anderson, as well as other first responders, who I knew throughout the years that have taught me, helped me and educated me on the importance of safety and being prepared for disasters and especially what to do after disasters, the number one thing I keep going back to is: 1- prayer and keep God first in your life, and 2- breathe and keep breathing and never panic! When you don't panic it keeps you alive, and knowing God Almighty will be right by your side whether you are with loved ones or alone, remembering God is always with you & loves you especially when you are all alone & that's all you need to know; keep a level head, keep calm and breathe, don't panic and say a prayer, God is faithful and will always answer! My family and I spent many years traveling back and forth to Georgia, Tennessee and North and South Carolinas. We camped up there and explored the mountains for many years, we loved it! My grandparents lived in Tennessee after they moved from Miami. My mom was from Georgia but grew up in Miami, Florida. When the hurricanes in Florida would hit, I remember as a child how we would have to prepare or evacuate! It took steady speed, extreme planning, strength with focusing and lots of money at times! We used to role play and have our safety plans in place as best as we could. It was very scary then regardless if it was a small hurricane or a large one and it's still scary now. I'm amazed that people did live through this! I'm so glad and thankful to God that they did survive and that a lot of them are okay but there is a lot that were not & a lot still to do, such devastation all around, but, such blessings and resilience of others who still are pouring in & helping, praise be to our Lord & for answering our prayers! It is so hard for anybody to go through these storms especially with these two hurricanes! It's not easy to prepare or get out of the way because of the uncertainty of the storms at times and where they may or may not hit. With all the technology you think we would have a better warning system by now. However, the problem was with all the rain before, during and after, with all the tornado warnings, (which by the way were so unusual to be so many), with the uncertainty of the actual storms pathways and I think also, the lack of reporting that didn't happen. I didn't notice much of the weather information being reported as much as it used to be except what I received to be on a Weather Radio or The Weather channel itself & on a Weather app. Even the weather app has minimal information and if you want more information you have to pay for it which is ridiculous! There should be a law that they can't charge you for the utmost important weather app and weather radio stations TV information when it comes to your's and others' safety! The news seemed to be giving news of other places and other areas of the world, different subjects and different newsworthy events. But I remember a time when we had a hurricane coming at us it would be on every single channel for as long as we could have power on TV as well as ALL the radio stations to warn us all, minute by minute, hour by hour! This time I noticed it was very difficult to even find information on the TV as well as our apps especially our local news stations for some reason! Even years ago, when we were watching a movie or a show, the news channels would have a little tiny square box added either left or right hand corners on the TV screen to show the actual information of the upcoming hurricane and its pathway, updating us as well as people giving us the information. Those teeny boxes when there was new information they would expand and show us what was going on and interrupt our shows which was great, we needed that! But this time, I noticed I was receiving more news about other states of what was happening in the Northern and Western States, but not in the East. They were reporting other events such as, the debates for the upcoming voting & even other weather in other states out west and even northwest. I even made the comment to my husband and family, "Where's all the stations that show what is going on with Florida and the pathways of the hurricane coming towards us?". Then, after the storms passed through, "Where is the reporting for the aftermath in Florida and what about North and South Carolinas, Tennessee and all of the states that are being affected by both of these storms and even afterwards; where is the reporting afterwards? What's going on?! I wanted to know. I don't remember it being that hard to find information about any Hurricane before. From what I can remember it was never that hard to receive information before, during and after a hurricane. I don't think anybody expected it to be this bad for anyone except possibly Florida because it's path was to hit us directly. We surely didn't expect it to hit North and South Carolinas as well as Virginia and Tennessee as hard as it did, especially after it hit because we were told the hurricane should become a two and then a cat 1 Hurricane. Thank God for my wonderful parents and police officers, such as Officer Anderson, and others, who have taught me as a child over the years and now as an adult, & have helped me to prepare, roleplay, teaching and training me and my family to have those very important safety plans in place throughout my life for different various situations because that teaching has helped me and my family so much! But it never can prepare you totally for the worse. We can all only do our best and that's what everybody did! They prepared and they did their best, some evacuated and others were able to hunkered down. These two hurricanes came in so hard and so fast! No matter how well you prepare or how fast you prepare sometimes you just can't be fast enough for the destruction of nature! It's amazing how just powerful water can be! And no one could have prepared any better than they did due to the fact that not only was it fast, even though it's strength died down to a 2 cat and then a 1 cat Hurricane, by the time it reached other states and came through, it brought unusual amounts of water, raining constantly before during and after as well as unusual tornadoes that weren't just little tornadoes but huge ones like you would see out West and the middle States! Usually, cat 1 & cat 2 hurricanes aren't as bad! These storms will definitely go down as history-making Hurricanes. Our prayers, love and blessings go out to all in need as well as all who have come down to help thank you so much for your help, your prayers and all that you've given, Great America! America would not be the place that is if it weren't for the people who live there and their compassionate loving and giving hearts!
It's been so hard to see this and Mike is right....the news is seriously downplaying the damage and as well as everything else such as FEMA causing issues. Praying hard 🙏🙏🙏
Yes! FEMA is causing issues! Like deploying 6,400 federal personnel, including FEMA staff, in the affected areas. And distributing more than 13.2 million meals, 13.4 million liters of water, 157 generators, and 492,000 tarps to support recovery efforts in the region. Stop politicizing the response to this 100+ year storm which hit at the worst time (after much rain) in the worst area (mt areas full of creeks and rivers). Those that think FEMA is supposed to be the cure all for all the damage, deaths, infrastructure and road issues are incorrect in their knowledge of what they are tasked with.
Here in upstate S.C. it was pretty bad. 100 plus year old oaks all over the upstate are gone. Never have I seen this kind of tree damage. Glad to hear your place didn’t get hit too bad. Prayers for the families who have lost everything.
It’s funny how you never realize how many trees are in an area until there all laying on the ground. At least what was going through my head the morning after Katrina.
Make boards with a chainsaw mill or regular wood milk and salvage a bunch of the boards and flatten and dry it out and limbs for railings and pillers and rock's and clay dirt for stucco and to mix with straw and sand and ashes for a foundation for a house and use rocket stove for cooking and heat and alternators or generator out of cars and trucks for wind power and water power and marine batteries and car batteries to hold or storing power a wood stove for heat oil lamp and candles 😂 for light vegetable oil you can filter with coffee filter and funnel and use it for deisel.
We have been praying for everyone that was affected by this horrific hurricane Helene. Here in central Florida as we prepare for hurricane Milton just got an alert at 10 pm tonight Oct. 7th telling us to be prepare with enough water, food, cash, to ensure that we prepare our family and property for 3+ days. Beside my husband and child. we have our chickens and dog and we are prepare as much as one can try to be. May God helps us. I prepare physically, mentally and spiritually the best that i can. My prayers goes out to everyone.
Honest sincere prayers. Extended family there too. Praying for ALL the wildlife and pets EVERY single night...just heartbreaking how far reaching the effects of these storms are.

Great idea! I'm still recovering from a 5-year-old storm probably 6 years ago storm now. And had to live through Helena and Milton in florida. But my heart goes out to all who have been affected even more than me even though my house is still under construction and never been finalized yet. But we will rebuild we are all Americans and we will rebuild and help and serve and rescue whoever and as many as we can until it is said and done and people are totally completely back on their feet. I'm collecting things that I have re-bought and donating as well as trying to sell and organize, so it's a great idea. To you, your family and all who have been affected as well God bless you blessings, love and prayers to you all. 🙏🙏🙏💕🙏🙏🙏🌹

Glad that your families are good. This has been all over our news. Having been through and assisted with disaster relief, work with your community. This will be years long in healing. Don’t stop your outreach in weeks or months. Build your community for the coming years. Blessings.
I’ve been watching the horror these people are having to endure & my heart & prayers goes out to each & every one. If I could, I’d open my doors to a family in need of shelter .. only problem is I live in Eastern Indiana. I can’t even imagine walking in the shoes of any of these brave folks. God bless.
They are saying that hurricane Milton has a slight chance of heading up the east coast. Just everybody keep an eye on it and get out early if you can. Prayers for all of you.
Despite being inland in Florida at 100+ feet above sea level I am considering evacuating over Milton. Looks like serious flooding across Florida. Maybe it’s a good time to visit Georgia until Friday.
I'm so glad that my town put up a flood wall. At Glen Maury Park in Buena Vista, VA. After having 69 flood that went up into the residential area, that's when they said something needs to be done. We have had heavy rains after 2 Hurricanes around us and some flooding but wasn't to bad. Yes, we got rain for 2 weeks on Helene. God Bless guys.

We're so thankful to channels like yours who tell us the truth of what's happening! We're in Missouri, so we're a little ways down the hill. There's almost NO big media we trust. Anyway, please know that you're not forgotten, and everyone I know is praying and wanting to help in ways that are needed. Im just so sorry for all of you.
I'm glad there are some positive stories to see like this all so. I'm glad all the states using weather modification and the timing have nothing to do with multiple hurricanes. And the mining permits approved just over 72 hours before the storm for the mining company which BlackRock owns 2.2 million shares worth a billion dollars is a coincidence. Happens to be ground zero where Asheville is. Someone would think a person is a conspiracy theorist. Good luck to all.
Wow I'm glad that family got out. Such a scary thing when natural disasters strikes. I'm glad you showed the screen shot of the good old Maglite 3D. I own a lot of flashlights but back in 2013 we had an ice storm that shut down power for 10 days. My two 3D LED Maglites were the only light source still working like champs on day 10, they are 160 lumen and run for 80 hours. Two of them tail standing flooding the ceiling is like having two end table lamps on in a living room and provided room lighting for all evenings. I also have some modern lithium lanterns and flashlights but the run time isn't the greatest. Good to be prepared and good to know what works.
I saw their video, it was heart breaking. They have a lot of friends that will help them get back on their feet. Prayers going out to all yall down south.
Great video with Austin. I have been so worried about the Rhoades. I was glad when friends of theirs initially stated they were ok and since then they have caught up with what happened.
Praying for you from Kampala, UGANDA, Africa 🇺🇬🌍 dear Jesus Christ forgive all Americans, people affected by hurricanes 🌀 Helene and now Milton in Florida , heal their land , have Mercy and compassion on them dear Jesus Christ.
Thank you so much! Your prayer is precious to my heart! I live in Western NC and this has been something you don’t ever see in these mountains. This is something very different. So many lives lost! The Lord is here in the hearts of the people, loving one another.❤

That is why you grow a 2 year garden every year. Food to eat and food to store. Empty canning jars should be filled with water and canned. If you have meds that need to stay cold, get a medicine fridge that is USB powered. When you do your shopping, always buy something extra, i.e., laundry detergent, soap, toothbrushes, shampoo and conditioner, lotion, toilet paper, zip lock bags, matches, etc. We also bought a weeks worth of clothes from the thrift store and a new multi pack of underwear, washed them and put them in space bags. They will stay dry and clean. We do the same with blankets and quilts. All are stored in space bags. Anyhoo, time to start prepping, along with homesteading. The two should go hand in hand.
@@Psalm91-1If you are in a flash flood area, its important to get out early. I heard a lot of people say they lost cell service before the flood warnings came. I watch a channel on youtube called Ryan Hall Y'all. He does weather live with mediologists and storm chasers who have starlink in case cell phone towers go out. He was on all day before Helene made landfall in Florida. He told us there would be bad flooding when the hurricane crashed into the mountains. Because it was moving so fast, and because it had so much water in it. I started watching him in 2018 because of tornados. He's live so they often call out tornados before the news channels do. I assumed being Helene had so far to travel to get to the mountains, that locally they would have been better prepared to warn of this, if a youtube channel knew. Its the only weather I watch, they give so much informatuon. They also are a non prophet and they take donations during the life stream to help the community affected. After Helene they got supplies, food, and starlinks and delivered them. They were there on the day after the storm.
TY Mike, for letting us see and hear Austin. I watch the R’s channel, too, & I appreciated his POV on this channel. I wish all you all well down there. Stay safe, stay well. Good interview, Mike. Great job.
I'm so happy to see and hear you, that you guys are doing well,I went on line looking for your blog, Giving YaH thanks 🙏 for you and your family members and friends ❣️ blessings
Thanks government for completely destroying all these beautiful peoples lives! Was so thoughtful to offer such support to some of the people with a generous whooping $750 max! Weather modification act of 1976!!!
We in FLORIDA are preparing for Milton.......lines for gas were long today, bread shelves bare, toilet paper shelves nearly bare, meat section, esp. ground beef bare. I-75N bumper to bumper. 🙏appreciated!
I lived in Florida for 50 years. I always filled my vehicle, got a new propane tank for the grill, and shopped for last minute items as soon as the first cone of a track came out on the weather. I always bought any new supplies like batteries, flashlights, tarps, etc. right before hurricane season stared. Every year i would buy a new piece of equipment like a wind up radio, solar lights/fans, or battery packs for cell phones. I also kept a well stocked food pantry, rotating through it after hurricane season. Im sure even up north for blizzards or lots of snow, could knock out power, and you might not be able to buy food.
Heavenly Father, I pray that you are helping people see and show your love. I am accustom to tornadoes, here in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, but this is worse than anything I have seen in my life. I ask that you help these wonderful people to see your Grace. You will recover and rebuild. My prayers are with y'all. God Bless!
I’m so glad that everyone was ok I watched Austin s video in terror I recommend watching it !!!! Austin and the family were incredible in acting together quickly and efficiently. This was devastating to watch but the community really helped each other it was so amazing!!!! Good luck to the Rhodes family in rebuilding their farm God Bless!!!!❤
Thank you for the first hand personal perspective on this devastating situation! Samaritans Purse is where I donate to!! Prayers and love from West Michigan
Just everyone, my brother, went down to serve food, water, and clothes, and they have ways to cook also for people, and they won't let them in to help. They say you can hand everything over, and they will pass it around, but can't come in
I have heard similar but there are places to serve. I know Samaritans Purse has a form to fill out to go serve people. I think there is a big influx of people coming into the area to help and it may be too many people right now. We will be doing a livestream tomorrow with people who are in the area so we will get better information then.
Hello guys from Australia, we know the floods , fires and what we call cyclones. Sending our love and hope with your coming united you will find love and peace again❤❤❤❤

Prayers are the #1 thing anyone and everyone can give!! And know that is one "donation" that will be multiplied!!❣️✝️❣️
Thank you!
Thank you so much, and many blessings!
Amen.
I watched their video of them trying to save as much as they could. It’s heart breaking.
Same here I seen before this interview. This is where we will find the truth of what’s going on in these places. The media forgets that all will came out
Me too
I'm so thankful Austin an family got out.
Mike thank you for trying to bring more awareness about the community and the help they need
Amen.
❤️🙏🏻Prayers and my heart goes out for all the families and the people in the hurricane
GOD Bless everyone🙏🏻❤️
Yeah, I thought that was Justin Rhodes place. I saw this gentleman & his family too today on his video. This gentleman was out there working to help the Rhodes Family. Very Cool that he is on your channel today.
He is a good friend of ours.
Hey everyone im just tuning in. Justin Rhodes got completely devastated. So prayers for all of you! Ill be praying for all of you in the south!🙏
Exactly Amen
Instead of praying get your butt in gear and DO SOMETHING!
Ma'am there's no need for your nastiness..if I could I would but I'm thousands of miles away. So all I can do is offer a sincere prayer.
@@Jayne-bt5en😮 Are you helping?
We in Oklahoma are praying for ALL of you. It breaks my heart what you are going through.
Wow! Oklahoma! thank you so much for praying!
Jesus hates it when you lie about Fema.
FEMA is not causing any issues, you are listening to misinformation
Not true
Here in upstate S.C. it was pretty bad. 100 plus year old oaks all over the upstate are gone. Never have I seen this kind of tree damage. Glad to hear your place didn’t get hit too bad. Prayers for the families who have lost everything.
Some of our friends in SC just got their power back on Friday evening.
It’s funny how you never realize how many trees are in an area until there all laying on the ground. At least what was going through my head the morning after Katrina.
How is the New Jersey when Hurricane Sandy hit why does oak trees come down because they have root rot and full canopies
So sad for the old beauties 😞😞
Great video of the human side of this hurricane. Sad to see all these folks are having to deal with. Keeping all in my prayers.

I hope you all stay safe and my prayers are with you.

But none of that matters if it’s all swept away in a flood. Unfortunately.
Lots of great ideas!
I watch them because of tornados, but i have family in Florida so I watch it then too.
Great idea !

We in FLORIDA are preparing for Milton.......lines for gas were long today, bread shelves bare, toilet paper shelves nearly bare, meat section, esp. ground beef bare.
I-75N bumper to bumper. 🙏appreciated!
Praying for all those in the path of Milton.
I have family in the path, so i will be keeping you all in prayer for the Hurricane to lose strength.
Best of luck…🙏🏼offered for you all. I have a sister in the path…
