>> the greatest of the greats of all time!!!!! David Oistrakh @ullakorpi-anttila88 I wonder whether Oistrakh himself thought so. He was a remarkably humble man. But that's okay. In his great humility, he would also have not minded if you disagreed with him. 😏
@@jansnauwaert1785 How right you are... Thank you Jan Snauwaert - YES! David Oistrakh is THE GIANT - I'm much pleased that you have chaned your opinion. That's what wise people normally do! You're not an exception 😂😂😂
@@ullakorpi-anttila88 If I remember well, we had a little discussion on that some months ago. I always had the greatest esteem for David Oistrakh. We also talked about Ginette Neveu (if my memory is right). Recently, I discovered the most incredible prodigy I ever heard. Her name is Himari Yoshimura. Check her out.
Great artist ,violin player,Viola player 🎻 conductor, teacher!!! Wonderful sound and brilliant technique in combination with extraordinary and human interpretation THE LEGENDARY DAVID OISTRAKH !!
Wonderful. Great teaching tool for students who sometimes think of the piece as a "student piece". Also, his video files show so much more life than his pure sound recordings
It's so interesting that he totally relaxes and lets the violin down at the end of the last note. Kind of a strange way to end the piece. Has Oistrakh ever done that before?
he starts with c (2nd finger on a-string), second note f (1st finger on e-string), which is the right key: F-major. He plays the original edition by Kreisler, who took just 3 variations (used it sometimes as encore) from the complete work by Tartini with 50 variations, most likely composed as exercises for left and right hand.
Sono Leone Pini , un bambino di 10 anni e voglio dire che Oistrakh è il mio violinista preferito e chi ha messo il pollice verso non ha orecchio musicale e non può esser mio amico>
Its a rain coat. Genius, really.. It keeps the water out but it also keeps sweat in. Imagine his armpit sweat after playing this. I mean just look at his forhead alone 😩
Wrong. Auer once told Tchaikovsky that his violin concerto was too difficult. We now have 12 years old that play it not only technically proficiently but also with beautiful expression. You only need to look at the state of the Menuhin competition Junior division to see that the standard of violin playing is continuing to rise (and the age of proficiency getting younger and younger). This is exciting stuff - looking back with nostalgia and dismissing the present and the future is ignorant.
Of the people who have watched this video who are actually learning this song and using this video as inspiration... is it just me or is the 3rd line of Var. III really hard? And playing trills while bouncing the bow... I can only get one or two in. Sigh. ... I wish I could play half as good. And is he playing the first variation with spiccato, or just really quickly, because my teacher told me to play it quickly, and it sounds sloppy, though it's probably just me. That was amazing.
nowadays the young violinist know the trick of how to be great. Have a great technique and that will get you everywhere. Trouble is everyone now know the secret so you have large numbers of young violinists with great technique, better than some of the legendary ones. 100 years ago, technique was not so important but that was a weak concept because if you want to play well on the violin, you MUST have technique. Young children as young a 4 yrs old practise 4-5 hrs a day! Almost all a technique development.
Great interpretation, but why is the sound a bit more than a half step too low? that is annoying. Maybe the whole recording is a bit too slow. this kind of thing happens with old recordings. You should try ajusting the speed. Anyway i would be surprised if he really tuned with A 415.
Oistrakh is among the best violinists in history.
Not among the best - the greatest of the greats of all time!!!!! David Oistrakh - King of Violinists

The supreme violinist of the the 20th century.

THE LEGENDARY DAVID OISTRAKH !!
Wow!! Pure Oistrakh style!
this is simply amazing. i love how he does the trills. :)
Brilliant, he makes this really elegant tune even better.
Historisch sehr wertvolle Aufnahme. Danke!
Awesome! Awesome! I love those variations and Oistrakh plays them very nicely.
@soichi1228 - Thank you so much for this precious recording - rare !!!😂

I'm watching this while I'm listening to his LP David Oistrakh Recital on Vanguard VRS 6020. Tchaikovsky Meditation at the moment.
Stunning...
Me fascina
Sin duda el mejor!,,,!
This video was from the "Kaluter"
It was VHS company.
영상 좋네요! 감사합니다!
The master.
Una accoppiata divina.
very good!
さすがオイストラフ
It's probably the quality of the recording affecting the pitch. There's a recording of him doing this on 440 A.
THANK YOU FOR SHARING!!
Wonderful ⋯
I always thought Oistrakh was highly underrated. He had the poetry of Yehudi Menuhin and the technique of Heifetz.
lionel rolfe what do you mean? he regarded as the greatest of violinists
How is oistrakh underrated
Браво!
I love Oistry!
How does someone play all the correct notes and Double Stops on the Violin? It’s not like the Piano where the notes are all there.🥀
위대한 연주자 !!
u can just hear him thinking, "I'm such a boss"
bravo
Why is the recording a tone lower than the original score?
Depends on the recording kit ...they have different frequencies just like the tuner so it will vary
Strange. The version of the piece I have is by Kreisler and in the style of Tartini, but in a different key.
he starts with c (2nd finger on a-string), second note f (1st finger on e-string), which is the right key: F-major.
He plays the original edition by Kreisler, who took just 3 variations (used it sometimes as encore) from the complete work by Tartini with 50 variations, most likely composed as exercises for left and right hand.
Kreisler an incredible composer and arranger for the Violin.🥀
Great~^^

what kind of jacket is that? Looks like he just came inside to escape a rainstorm.
Whiteout It's called Barnaul Coat. I love wearing this thing.
Its a rain coat. Genius, really.. It keeps the water out but it also keeps sweat in. Imagine his armpit sweat after playing this. I mean just look at his forhead alone 😩
You’re right 😜
damn the 1st 2 chords of 2:40 are sooooo damn perfect....you can hear the undertones....
The golden age of great violinist has disapeared....
Yes , he is our day's Star my favorite too

남성적이고, 힘있고, 단호한 bowing ! 2:40

00:19~3:42
I had to slow down to do the trill part, so did Oistrakh.
Always Oistrakh.
What source is this video taken from?
Good
The Master: King of Violinists - or someone has called him Emperor....
fantastic player..but,why not in..diapason A440?
is the piece in a lower key? It should be in f major, not e, right?
@mq9demo yeah, why not.
Hi was the best
it's called passion

The Professor himself.
Let's see a video of you playing it. :)
😊
@mq9demo undertones are the low notes u hear when u play a chord. if u play an onstrument you would know that
I am playing this tooooo
Me to

with the russian energy!!!!my master..
@lionelrolfe101 Underrated by whom? Many think he was number 1.
@lionelrolfe101 Well, of course, since Yehudi was my uncle, I'm prejudiced that way. But unquestionably Oistrakh was very very great.
Well done! but I still prefer Alfredo Campoli interpretation
He might just play this better than Shumsky. 0.o
Fritz Kreisler
김유복tv,에서만나고싶어요
he's very good
