The green screen looks old fashionned, the piano sounds old fashionned, the moving of camera is old fashionned, yes. But the violins sound looks so modern, the esthetic is so up-to-date... Oistrakh had half a century foward. Fantastic !
Yes - although the recording isn't exactly of the best technical recording, I enjoy it - two brilliant musicians (David Oistrakh - King of Violinists)...
Been used to Twoset's recording of this (been listening to it a lot), so I was so shocked at how fast David and Igor played it. Whoa! I am so in awe. They were so perfect!
tempo is a versatile thing, its not written in exact beats per minute, instead its written like allegro (fast), adagio (slow), etc. so one could play it a bit faster or slower.
@@Joseph3.1415 Looking at it now it definitely looks like their movements are faster than people usually move their arms. It's quite jarring to watch actually. 0.75x speed sounds and looks a lot nicer.
i am also no musitian but i love sarasate also navarra is one of many that i really like so my opinion as an engeneer :) yes it sounds a bit fast maybe still nice. Navarra i think is hard to play or not many artists play it ... try this my fav navarra performance th-cam.com/video/m3BI7idvxgA/w-d-xo.html&start_radio=1
I don't think it just takes a lot of practice to play like Oistrakh. You need to be incredibly talented and to have a miraculous environment all your childhood. And then, the long hours of practice from very young age of course.
Yes, very good with the legenday Oistrakh precision. Equally exciting is Aaron Rosand's recording (playing both parts) with absolute control and possibly superior understanding of the "Navarra" mood.
Rosand plays Sarasate pieces wonderfully -- he made a whole album of them that was given to me in the 1970s, still my favorite performances of most of those pieces. And yes, he did the Navarra beautifully on that album! That said, I was also thrilled to find this performance by the Oistrakhs, so glad Ningfengviolin posted it!
this is very well planned playing. david, stands right, but plays the first violin.igor plays the second violin. this high trill, by 3:06 is very hard to meet by two everytime. but they manage to screw the trill as exactly as it should be. the same is by 3:50-4:14, the trills are are by botuh violins is the same. it is very hard to play like this. it is also not important to be good alone, this should be practiced till being fainted. shortly : bravo!!!
Супер!!! Навіть жахлива тогочасна відео та аудіотехніка не спроможні зіпсувати це високопрофесійне виконання!! Браво, Ойстрахи!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
unfortunately the recording runs too fast. The A is already almost 447, at that time in Russia was 440 Standard. That also means, that the vibrato sounded much less nervous in the original live performance. And it was slower. Maybe somebody can correct this. (?)
That bow choreography
That old sound is so much good

Father and son going abroad.....to Spain! Beautiful! So much joy that we can witness. That is what music is about......!
I haven't seen much of Navarra videos, but so far, this one is the most synchronized one, amazing!!
Brilliant, precise interaction - did not think this was possible. Awesome!
They're so in sync! 🥰
Oh, what I wouldn't give to be there during the original recording. I'm sure it was unbelieveable!
What an amazing synchrony!
excellent - loved it.
such synchronisity down to the harmonics and the bowing action!

@@uhh4312 whoa! I didn't know that tempo is that versatile. So both are on the right tempo. Thank you very much! I hope you enjoy your day! :D
They're also playing a semitone higher than it should be, so I suspect this video was sped up.

yep it is orginially for two violins
So beautiful and well played. Lovely!
Those down down down bowings at the end. Woah!
This is truly the most amazing piece that I have ever heard. I can't get enough of Igor and David.

this is incredibly good! This technique and then the soft sound in the lyrical passages. I have no words… ❤️❤️❤️
Wow! This is AMAZING!! I hope to be as good and valued as they are.. VERY impressive, Son and Father moment.
Brilliant and very expressive. Thanks.
The Jota Navarra was in sync because 1. They had it memorized. 2. A strong 1st violinist who would have been a excellent coach for Igor.

Superb performance, musically perfect with great techniques!

technical and emotional perfection. Oistrakh forever.
They simply perfect
Where's the version where they spiced things up a bit with their own variations at the beginning?
Exellent performance!

Thank you for the rare video.
