Open Run have a higher waterproof rating than the Open Run Pro … IP67 v IP55

Costco often have them on offer. I picked up a set of Shokz Open Runs for £83 not so long ago.

Hi. Did you find the OpenRun and OpenRun Pro louder than OpenMove? Specs say 96dB vs 105dB in both OpenRun models. But I do not know if those 9dB are noticeable. The PROs are too expensive as I will be using them mostly in office environment (for phone calls) and sometimes for cycling. I have the OpenMove, which are great but they could have been just a bit louder. And I am thinking of replacing them with the PRO model. Thnx.

Nice review! I agree with most of your views. In fact, I have had a Shokz Openrun Pro that works well while running. However, its waterproof level is not high, which also limits its usage scenarios. So, I switched to the Wissonly Hi Runner, which has IPX8 waterproof, Bluetooth and MP3 dual modes. These two features allow it to be used in many scenarios, such as running, swimming, boating, surfing, cycling, hiking, and so on.

I have the red Open Run in the standard size! they are amazing, I use them for walks and runs. not great headphoned if you're leaning back in a seat or have a hooded coat because the "connecting wire" is hard and pushes up against things so it's not my everyday headphones. overall, really enjoy the quality and safety aspects!

When I sit back while wearing them, I push the connecting with up until it is flush with my head. it also works well for wearing them with a hat in the winter.

I used the Aeropex (= Openrun) for several years before it died and recently upgraded to the Openrun Pro Mini. The sound quality of the Pro is much better indeed! But the big downside is the more open speakers that it requires: when they get wet, they clog up and the sound quality becomes terrible… When I sweat a lot or it rains really hard, that sometimes happens. So if you’re a heavy sweater like me, I recommend getting the Openrun for the better sweat resistance. But the sound quality doesn’t live up to the pro…

another great video!! i took up running properly around December and haven't looked back. Although i cant compete yet at 10km distance for i have to be 15, that is the event i train for and only 2 weeks ago i hit an unofficial 10km pb of 39:30, and im hoping to bring that down thanks to your tips and tricks. and will probably invest in some of these headphones so thanks for the review. and i just followed you on strava and your training looks very impressive so keep up the good work :))))

Has anyone worn them in the gym? Does that work ok or does the background music and noise in the gym drown out the headphones?

    • @RobertBurton-sb2jm
      @RobertBurton-sb2jm ปีที่แล้ว +2

Yeh they’re great if you want to hear the other noise, but not if you don’t. Can imagine they’d be a disaster in the gym with the volume of the music they have in there!

I am still using the Aftershokz Aeropex which i bought in 2019.
I am impress how well this model holds up till today . The battery is still doing fine . Defintely a great companion for listening to audio file during training and race day .

I used the regular OpenRun in my first marathon last month…. Sound constantly kept cutting out and the battery died after less than 3 hours. Don’t know if it was a headphone or Bluetooth issue to be fair.

I have a large head and find the mini to fit very well.
They tend to hug the head better leading to less bounce - i.e. the back strap doesn’t droop down as much. Which also means the entire headphone stays more horizontal vs at a 45 degree angle.

@@pgesqsj1 Yes, that went quite easy through the retailer. I asked if I could upgrade, that was possible so upgrade tot the openrun (not the pro), beause that has the highest waterproof rating. The openrun is still ok. (but only 11 months in)

I got the Open Run. They are ok, but I can hardly hear anything when running on the treadmill. If I turn them up too much it starts to “prick” the skin. I can see why they are more for running outdoors. I really like the magnetic charge port though. Good product though.

I have OpenRun’s and they came with a little soft pouch to keep them in. It’s disappointing they have gotten rid of the pouch, as it’s a great size and keeps them safe. I’d have definitely snapped them in a bag by now without the pouch

Really like my Aftershokz (I have the old version before they changed to Shokz). I do prefer my Sony Linkbuds though, better sound quality and no vibration, and they have an open ear design so no wind noise like with earbuds that have a transparency mode. You also get a charging case which can be taken anywhere and they should always be charged when you go to put them in.

I’ll be honest, I’ve got a pair and I can’t understand why everyone raves about them so much. As soon as any traffic goes past you can’t hear anything. Totally fine for quiet country lanes but if you live near even moderately busy roads they are a waste of time. Ive relegated mine to wearing around the house and in the office

OpenMove lover here! got it at 50% off. At first was disappointed by the sound volume, then found out that its because my iPhone has a volume limiter enabled.
It has multipoint and has clear audio for calls and "acceptable" sound quality for music.

It is deceptive marketing. You can still hear it, even if you take it off your skin. The bone conduction thing is an overstated gimmick.
