Contiguous set in sleeve is the technical name of the shoulder. I prefer sweaters with these shoulders over any other. I really like the look feel and wear of them, the cap sleeve looks good. They are the closest fit to piecing a sweater together.
Enjoyed this podcast very much. You have such a calm demeanor. I also liked how you kept the pattern info and pictures on the screen while you talked about them. Most podcasters just flash them. Lots of beautiful ideas. Thank you. ❤
Oh thank you! I really enjoyed putting it together. I hoped to make it feel a bit like browsing ravelry with a bunch of pictures and some useful info. It also gives people something to look at besides me 😆
This episode of yours from 4 months ago popped up in my feed just yesterday, and I am so intrigued 😊 So many patterns off the beaten track, and very interesting patterns, too. I watch a lot of knitting podcasts, and yours is a beautiful find for me. Thank you very much for taking the effort. I am binging the rest of your episodes already ❤️
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. 🥰 It was really fun looking for great, lesser known patterns and I would like to make more like this. I've been taking a break from youtube (just cuz life got busy), but I plan to be back soon! ❤️
This was fabulous! So many original designs I haven’t seen that are going right into my queue 😁 Thanks for all the detailed work that went into this episode, so appreciated! Have a great day 💓
You are so adorable and I'm so glad I found you. I'm only half way through but I love your podcasting style, how you don't try to pad out the words and of course the excellent choices for the year. I'm off to continue watching but was so struck by how considered and thoughtful you are to the viewer that I just had to write to tell you. Lu in Australia x (and I should be knitting but I make little bear collections in clay and the January one is looming fast so I'll make bears while you chat. :-) )
Thank you! I really appreciate it. ❤️ I plan on making another video like this in first few months of 2024 :) With so many patterns to get through I tried hard not to spend too much time on them, haha. Good luck with your next collection!
I've been knitting for 7 years and almost since the beginning I was struggling with ease. I had a rough time trying to find anyone who would actually explain it. These few little words, "You want to pick a size that is 8 cm or 3 inches smaller than your bust circumference" and it clicked! Thank you!!!
Your comment totally made my day! It's funny how sometimes hearing something in a particular way can click. I'm happy to have been part of that moment for you. I hope you have a great day and totally nail the ease on your next sweater! ❤
Thank you very much! I have only knit one garment before, from a pattern. I started with crochet. The knit pattern I made successfully is Ranunculous I love it. In my case I made the smallest size. It fit, but then I lost 80 pounds, and it still fits, because the designer made it to be oversized! I love this pattern because you can use any weight yarn, up to 4. So up could be for any season!
Hi Debra! I started my yarny adventure with crochet, too. :) I'm so glad you love your Ranunculus! It's a great pattern and I really like how it looks good whether it's fitted or oversized. 👍 Great suggestion!
Augustin No 11 is a batwing construction if you follow the pattern exactly. Anyone who lived through the 80s will tell you that putting a coat on with a bulky weight, batwing sweater is almost a gymnastic achievement. Your cuffs will end up at your elbows and you’ll have fun trying to put your arms down for the bunched up fabric in your armpits. That said, I made one. I love it (though it is rather hole-y up by the saddle shoulder. That could be a me problem others didn’t get). I just wear it in fall or spring when I won’t need a coat. If I were to make it again (and I very well may), I would do away with the batwings and make it have more usual sleeves.
Very small ones. German twisted cast on with one by one twisted rib (I like crisp ribbing). I also added a purl bump along the bottom or top of each ribbing section; collar, arms and waist. I chose 50/50 cotton/merino which I am very happy with. I am going to make another one for fall without the cotton blend.
@@carrotlover7763 Oh that all sounds lovely! I love it when people add a purl bump next to the ribbing. It looks so good - I want to try that soon. :) And I think a fall version will be super nice.
This is my first time around and I really like your video and your vibe🤗 my favourite pattern for this year so far is the Kudzu cardigan which is a very well written pattern and also free on Ravelry so it is a huge bonus. Highly recommend to check it out😊 Greetings from Hungary🇭🇺
Yay! Welcome! 😊 Thanks for recommending the Kudzu cardigan. The lace is lovely. ❤️ She has so many beautiful patterns that I'm surprised are free. Will definitely need to download some. 👍
I think the poppy tee has a saddle shoulder construction, I I too am going to try knit this pattern, hopefully I can figure it out, as I am a beginner?
I love the Tolsta tee! Especially the yellow version at 15:30. Where would I get the exact directions on how to make that? Also, your selection of sweaters were really good picks. I really enjoyed this podcast.
Thank you! Here's the project page for the yellow Tolsta: www.ravelry.com/projects/Coconknits/tolsta-tee-3. She gives some info on her modifications there and links to a couple tutorials. :)
I would luv to see unspun yarn done on ur channel. There aren't very many who do this process. I just saw a pod from Norway and she uses unspun over 75%. So I've been educating myself. Thanks for sharing.
As a swedish person (swedish is pretty similar to norwegian) I had to re-translate a norwegian pattern several times and look up certain knitting terms because google translate does noooot work for that. I’d be interested to see if it works for you but I wouldn’t recommend it if you can find a similar pattern in english!
Thank you for not gabbing too much and getting to the point and love your selection and the exact information. Looking forward to watching more
I'm so glad you liked it! I knew with this many patterns, I had to keep it brief. 😉 Happy knitting!

I agree, it was such a lovely touch in the video, really appreciate it❤
I enjoyed your podcast so very much. Thank you so much!!
Oh, I'm so glad! I hope you found something you liked :)
Such a great list with some more obscure designers. You have caused my Ravelry queue to grow!
Thank you! I love exploring the lesser known names :)
Lovely to see you back Thank You for Sharing all the Beautiful Knits 🧶
Thank you, Maree! It was really fun to put this together. I hope to make some more like this.

Thank you, Tracey! I had a lot of fun hunting down patterns and putting the photos and stuff together. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
This was great. Thank you.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for an inspirational video!
You bet! It was so fun :D
I really enjoyed your line up; enough so that I am now a subscriber. Going back to watch all other You Tube episodes.
Thank you! That means a lot 😁
What an informative podcast! I already have something of the knits or patterns you mentioned, but your list was a great inspiration.
Thank you! It was fun trying to find some lesser known patterns in addition to the higher profile ones. There are certainly a lot out there :)
What a great exercise - I’m going to try that! Love your selections
Thank you! I highly recommend coming up with a list like this. I've found it surprisingly useful over the last few months :) Have fun!

I just discivered your podcast and enjoyed the calm mood. You picks are very nice and gave me some ideas for futur projects. Thanks!
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you found some patterns you like. :)
informing, inspiring and intriguing!! Well done
Thank you so much!
So nice to see you 😃👏🏼🧶 love your show…. Really enjoyed your choices and have added to my ravelry list 😊❤ soooo many great ideas

Oh, that's a good point. Thanks for the info and experience! I'll consider if I want to keep the batwing or mod it a bit. :D
It was be helpful if you added links to the different patterns for those who may be interested in knitting one.
I just did the moon set tee! The collar was so fun to knit.
Oh awesome! :D I'm looking forward to it!
I made the Tolsta Tee and it was a fun quick knit. I made a couple of small modifications to make it my own😊
Awesome! What mods did you do?
