How is it possible that this man has been able to evolve his content to stay relevant AND is still keeping up his old style and somehow making it BETTER. This is why gigguk is my number one on youtube. This years recap was better than ever before
Mushoku Tensei was definitely top 3 for me. The story was SO GOOD that I ended up reading the Light Novel/Web Novel and finishing the entire journey... One of THE BEST Isekai/Fantasy/Action/Adventure story for me.
I’m so glad I have Moshoku Tensei a chance. Rudy’s progress and learning is done so well, it feels so real. He makes mistakes and grows little by little. I think they really hit this one out of the park.
That tribute to Berserk and Miura-sensei really made tear up. I, as many, grew up with Berserk and it was the first manga that I read and got me hooked on the medium ever since. An absolute legend that will be remembered for generations to come.
It took me by surprise "Why is he showing pictures of games and manga here?" and then it hit me like a fucking truck and then Guts' Theme to make it even more impactful
"Even if we painstakingly piece together something lost, it doesn't mean things will ever go back to how they were." When I saw the Berserk tribute, I genuinely teared up. Berserk meant so much to me and when I heard that Miura died, I was heartbroken. Thank you, king and legend, Kentaro Miura.
That Attack on Titan editing, when you ended your sentence precisely when "to be continued" appeared on the screen, combined with the music, gave me goosebumps. Well done
I really appreciated the tribute to Kentaro Miura. Berserk is truly one of a kind and my favorite piece of fiction period. Rest in peace you fucking legend.
My whole "weeb" journey started by, guess what, a friend who borrowed me the first 2 chapters of Berserk and Evangelion when I was a small kid. No regrets, as the story grew alongside of me. It gave inspiration, fun, and entertainment for the bad days. Biggest of respects and the saddest moment when he died for me. He put so much passion in his work and sadly he won't be able to see the end on paper by his own hands.
He literally made me want to watch more anime and make me understand there is more to explore in this medium. I guess anime will never die as far as gigguk makes vedio about anime.
The Kentaro Miura tribute made my eyes water holy shit. The respect and emotions you conveyed were on point, thank you for this. Great video as always.
This is a masterpiece of a video, adequate to how good a year for anime 2021 was. These videos really do get better with every year and I'm looking forward for more

After I watched this video, I immediately went and watched Mushoku Tensei. And I must say it was by far the best anime of the year. And is now personally in my top 5 favorite anime. I even bought the light novel.
@@voltaireentertainment personally i felt kinda slow paced but when I reread it i do agree that it was awesome. Will be good to watch as anime more than LN.
The thing i liked the most about mushuku tensei is the fact they renovated the genre of Anime using the openings to continue the story and make us feel like we were a part of the story.
@@edcaous the thing is, mushoku intros are the opening itself, the songs lyrics are made with the show in mind, it's really the next level after skipping it, moment op 1 played in EP 22 with a total new rearrange with sadder and slower tones is just a level of detail most wouldn't even consider
THIS, THIS was Garnt's epitome in his TH-cam career, from his phrasing to, the content, editing, voice variations, and an emotional yet much needed closure to the legendary mangaka of Berserk, Kentaro Miura. I respect, adore and love you Gigguk, a lot of your videos make me cry tears of joy/sadness which never happens with any other youtuber. Keep making such amazing content mate, your words are truly heartwarming for the soul.
I only watch Mushoku Tensei because of gigguk, and when I finished the anime, I couldnt hold in wanting to see the story through. I read all the manga till i caught up, then continued in the light novel, then continued in the web novel when I finished the light novels. Through all 24 volumes I was so happy that I took a chance with Mushoku Tensei, and contrary to the usual feel when i finish a great series, I didnt feel empty, or sad, or even overjoyed, I was simply satisfied with the perfect isekai that I had the pleasure to witness. Cannot wait for the complete series to be animated, and to relive the story again. Thanks @Gigguk!
@@fightmefam4504 bro trust me i felt it, i was sad but i was also satisfied. Rudeus lived his life, had a family and died happy, its not a sad ending although we might have been sad when it ended.
Using that scene with Rudy's dad as an example for the moments you can't help but cheer for him becoming a better person is perfect. As someone who decided in my late teenage years to mend a rocky relationship with my own father that scene had me bawling my eyes out. Mushoku Tensei is an amazing show.
@@citrusbomb9376 Well I'm 33 now, fast friends with my pops so yeah, things turned out fantastic ^^ That moment in the show just brought back some stuff that I didn't realize still lingered there.
Hi, I'm from Russia. I am writing this through a translator (there will be mistakes). You can pass it on to them that fans from Russia want an issue about Russian translation thrash taste
That scene made me bawl too, ngl. My dad passed a couple years ago, and that ep made me think about him. Miss him terribly. In regards to the scene itself, a part of me was worried that Rudy and Paul would leave things as they were. That would've crushed me, honestly. Can't say I'd be able to mend things with my biological father though. That ship has since sailed. Glad you mended things with your dad though. The next ep with Roxy going home was a kicker too. So many feels.
The amount of work he put on script just to describe mushoku tensei was great, thats why garnt is one of the best creater on youtube. I tried describing my friends why mushoku tensei is actually good but never did so perfectly, but right in this video garnt just did what i could never, he is definitely the greatest.
Gigguk, I always get goosebumps from your endings of the anime video with beautiful music. It's like a beautifully placed point at the end of the story. It's like watching a story every time, thank you for the wonderful, fascinating and funny time spent.
Legit finished watching it today, and you can imagine my surprise when the short pink-haired girl with pig tails wasn't a tsundre, but an actual fully fleshed out character. Then again, I guess that's the whole point of the show, to not judge people based on their looks.
I think Mushoku Tensei captivated a lot of people because of the excellent world building. Other animated series such as Avatar The Last Airbender, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, and Attack on Titan all share this quality as well. Things like history, different cultures, world conflicts, etc. are all things that these shows build upon and it really makes the difference in overall quality and enjoyment.
@@manwithnoname8229 While there isn't a whole lot given throughout, it does a great job at immersing you into the world by demonstrating how a society plagued by titans can still operate and along the way small bits and pieces are revealed that help paint a better picture of what is really going on. Examples of worldbuilding are the obvious social hierarchy's that exist throughout the series, certain reveals like titans existing within the walls after all this time, and just the anti-titan sentiment/ culture in general. Not to mention the extensive use of fictional technology such as the odm gear which has gone on to become one of the most recognizable things from AOT.
It's what I felt from just knowing about Dragonball and Pokemon all my childhood to exploring and jumping straight into FMAB 11-12 years ago. Shit just had so many more dimensions and depth, you can't stop thinking you've been missing something all this time. I'm pretty much an anime celibate since I burnt myself out by 2014 and hardly watch more than 2 series a year anymore. But Mushoku tensei really brought back that spark for me. Like everything is just...right.
Every year I use your best of anime 20XX to just find out, which masterpieces I oversaw and then just watch them. WIthout you I wouldve never seen some great ones like vivy or sonny boy. Thank you so much
Hearing gigguk talk about the final three shows gave me chills on how breath taking these shows were even though they were all so different from each other they still managed to be amazing
Im honestly thinking I might do the same. This show is so fucking good in every way. Even the damn opening is not wasted run time. The story is so godamn good too
Ranking of Kings is the only story of any medium I can remember experiencing where I'm rooting for EVERY character to achieve their objective. It's a testament to the absolutely astounding writing that even the main antagonist who initiated all the tragic events in the show is still deeply sympathetic. It crafts a world where there's not necessarily bad guys and good guys but people who want things desperately enough they'd hurt others to do it and unbiased observers could understand why they'd be making those choices. I want everyone to experience it because I hope it can help people see that people who disagree with you or want different things to you aren't necessarily evil or naïve or selfish or ignorant. They may have very good reasons to feel totally differently than you do and that doesn't make them lesser.
nah dude. that show just basically. lets make every antagonist have back story ! let's have backstory inside backstory ! WOW. 10/10 storytelling. GOD watching that sht is tiring
@@si-level Oh don't get me wrong, I also like my trashy disposable isekai. It's nice to have something very different to choose from now and then though.
@@si-level I know. I'm saying I also enjoy shows that don't require you to be very switched on but sometimes it's nice to have something that shows the backstory within backstory.

mushoku tensei tracks are one of those music that will make you feel like youre really in another world, i actually dont remember the last time i felt this way. this show literally took my 30y/o ass back to being a kid watching his favorite fantasy show. the visuals, voice acting, everything is just spot on perfect. plot is amazingly laid out that you wouldnt be able to tell whats gonna happen next and its addictive this way. this is definitely what an isekai anime should be.
@@yakasaibashir5846 the guy that made made in abyss music right ? If it is really him yeah made in abyss gave me same experience that i got while watching mushoku tensei, and i remember when i watched it back in 2018 it was one of the best anime i had ever watched
I'm very glad Mushoku Tensei was where it was. I haven't been that invested in a show in a very long time, and I couldn't stop watching. It's been a long time since I found an anime that I walked in knowing nothing about it and loved every minute of it, but then also felt very empty after it was over. It is an amazing show, and I really hope that the seasons to come are going to be as cared for as the first 2 halves to season 1 was.
Mushoku Tensei hit me in my soul. That sound track gives me a physical reaction everytime I hear it. This is the only anime that actually made me go and read the light novels/web novels and i binged it a few weeks, to the point that anytime I had free time id spend it reading. I don't think anything else in my life has had that kind of effect on me. I can't wait till the next season is out.
@@TainyaGaming For me it was my third. I hated waiting for more Slime so I read up and loved it so far. Then reincarnated as a spider. Currently starting the 5th Mushoku Tensei book and totally worth it. I have a problem with reincarnated in another world stories.
@@VascoRB I've read everything except some prequel stuff. It's so good. I'm gonna go back and read the next light novel that releases next month since the translation isn't that great in the web novel plus how the writer added some things and improved on the web novel.

Sonny Boy, is such a hidden gem. I cannot put it in words, how good it is or even why it is good, it just feels great and relaxing. Thank you for that recommendation.
@@abdelm4lek I can't be the only one that prefers spaced out uploads, not only because the quality of videos is nearly always maintained to a high standard but it also seems a lot healthier for the creators. I can't think of many TH-camrs that follow the spaced out upload schedule who face burn out, which is what I think TH-cam should be about!
@@pranav2169 While I do agree with you but I still prefer somewhat a weekly or bi-weekly upload over a much longer frequency, and I think most youtubers can manage it and still maintain a healthy schedule. Well deserved Mushoku Tensei. I love it, read the light novel and I can say it has a lot of care put into it. It is a masterpiece in every sense of the word.
There’s actually one single CGI scene in Mushoku Tensei that is so well done, I couldn’t even tell it was CGI until I saw the arm movement. The faces were almost perfect. Really well done anime.
@@chilfang2422 No, he’s definitely CGI. It’s the last ep of the second season; whenever they’re plowing the fields, the faces are so well done that until the bodies start moving, it looks hand drawn.
The way you talked about each anime made me almost cry in the end. I wanna watch ALL OF THEM 😭 there's so much love, passion and hard work in all of them omg 💖
Mushoku Tensai being number 1 literally almost brought a tear to my eye lmfao it's my absolute favorite show of the year and might be my favorite of all time. it's insanely good.
I agree I was sitting here thinking "please be mushoku please be mushoku" and it was and I'm so happy because although MC is a little creepy, he learns through time why those things are bad and you literally watch him mature over time and learn from his mistakes. It's one of my most favourite anime of all time and I can't wait for them to announce season 2.
Just those first few words of Ousama Ranking's opening song brought tears of joy to my eyes. That song is absolutely wonderful, only surpassed by the story itself.
Holy shit Sonny Boy was something else and just as Gigguk explained it was spot on, it left me with so much wonder. So glad i gave it a chance, it's one i will definitely be recommending for a long time! Cant wait to watch the other animes listed
This guys talked 30min about anime....And I'm watching it 7th time already, still makes my hearth skip a beat. Can't believe year is over and AOT 2nd part is already out, happy I've been subscribed all these years
Why does that require balls? I’m sure since he has partnered with them before they have some contract that he can use the music for videos, it happens with other TH-camrs too
Sonny Boy is the saddest anime of the year for me. It bounces around different themes throughout its short run, but it always explains them in extremely unique and thought-provoking ways. The art never feels boring or plain, as it uses every trick in the book to express the themes clearly. The soundtrack is so fitting with its math-rock and use of synths throughout the ost. It fits the whole jumping through worlds vibe. Reading the author's insight on each episode also really gave me an appreciation for his writing and characters. I often think the reason that people hate it so much is because they were looking for a story that didn't exist. The main focus of Sonny Boy was always the characters, themes, and social standings in unfamiliar situations. The writer does such a good job explaining the transition into adulthood without needing to say much. Which leads me to the ending. The emptiness that Sonny Boy leaves you with is unlike any other. It isn't a super sad tear-jerker that tries too hard to make you cry. Rather, it leaves you with a hole in your chest and your mind wanting more. It is truly a one-of-a-kind anime that not everyone can appreciate since most of the viewers have not gone through that transition yet.
Couldn’t have said it better. The ending got me feeling a type of sadness that no other anime has made me feel, as you said it’s not sadness in tears but rather emptiness. Took me a while to figure out that feeling isn’t negative.
I'm really surprised that spoilers It had even a remotely happy ending. I need to watch a 5 part series with each video being 4 hours long to even begin to understand what I watched.
Sonny boy moved me like no other. The visual, sound track. I bought both records, then took a break from anime for a few months, i didn't want to ruin the image sonny boy made in my mind regarding anime.
Dude, Zombieland Saga is the fucking SHIT my guy. I LOVE that anime. Never in my life did I picture myself genuinely enjoying an anime about an idol group. . . But then I watched ZLS. . .
That Mushoku Tensei’s opening credits are NOT TO BE SKIPPED make it AOTY for me. When the OP kicks in, I pay more attention, because every episode brings you through the region they’re in, the activities they’re doing. Its an episode in of itself. Good lord I cannot understand just how good it is.
@@delphicdescant To be fair to other shows, it does seem like MT has a bigger animation budget, plus the traveling aspect lends itself more this montage format where you can progress the story without dialog.
@@delphicdescant It's not just innovation for anime, but any show with an opening ever, I have never seen a show change the fundamentals of a show like mushoku tensei, and I loved it.
The Mushoku OPs were breathtaking indeed. The only other anime i remember doing something similar(playing the start of an episode alongside the OP) is Aria, which is my favorite. The Mushoku ED songs are amazing as well.
It makes me so happy to see you put mushoku at number 1. I hope that show gets renewed for as long as it needs to fully tell its' story, by far one of the most beautiful and human pieces of media that's been created.
I was astonished to see its production quality. Never before have we seen an anime made with more detail than most anime movies. And i certainly didnt expect it to get so dark at the end of season one and season 2. Most isekai shy away from even killing anyone. And very few anime kill off kids.
@@leleo2219 that media criticism is from a minority in the west, it’s done really well in Japan and outside of it. The anime greatly boosted LN sales and the blu-rays have been selling well in JP

it seems that anime has really branched out in art. i’m really happy that different styles are being given a shot bc their effects and stories can be just as gorgeous and effective as the way anime has traditionally looked
for someone who has not watched much anme this time around(mostly reading manga) im really happy and glad I watched a few of the best ones of this year, ill have to look at watching others
Ranking of Kings was not at all what I was expecting. I went into it with zero expectations, all I knew was the art style. It blew me away. One of the best shows I have EVER had the pleasure of watching. Amazing to say the least.
Mushoku Tensei is one of those anime that can completely reinvigorate someone's passion for the medium. This was a year that had some of my all time favourites deliver banger seasons, fantastic new entries and the god damn end of Eva. Yet Mushoku Tensei will still likely be the anime I remember best from this year, which is a testament to just how well it does everything. It's been a long time since something surpassed my expectations so completely.

I rarely comment on videos, and this one will probably get lost in the thousands of comments, but I still feel like I should say this: this such an incredible video. A full half an hour paying homage to this art form that makes us sometimes still feel like kids, that makes us learn, grow, laugh and ugly-cry. Fantastic script-writing on your end, Garnt. You've outdone yourself, and this could easily be considered your magnum opus, at least for now. Good morning. Good night. Thank you. Goodbye.
Laughed audibly at the "dropped so hard my nan thought the germans had come back" this 2021 summary/round up was incredibly well put together with some beautiful scripting. It's almost like at one point you worked for the BBC and then thought.... nah I can do better
I have never read a book in my life, mushoko tensei changed that for me entirely. I went from someone who couldn’t read anything other then required material for classes and papers, to a full on recluse to finish mushoko tensei. Almost every sentence had such immaculate detail you could truly in vision the author was portraying. Scenes felt colorful, and heart breaking moments were, well heart breaking. You see slowly but surely how Readus changed his life and chose to not make the same mistakes he used to. He was at his weakest when he was thinking like his old self and learned to separate his old persona from who he is now. Truly the best anime of the last two years and will always have such a big place in my heart.
You picked a hell of a light novel to be your first. Only problem is its all downhill from here. The japanese web novel portal "narou" is where a lot of web novel were originally posted including slime, re zero etc. On their top ranking all time list mushoku tensei was no1, second to nothing. I read the fan translation of the web novel all the way back in 2014 and ever since then I don't think I have read another light novel that has been as good, and i have read hundreds at this point.
@@-bacon_bacon- manga is like a fuking slow train meanwhile any is like a car (fast but after completion slow) light novel is like bullet train(vol 14 has produced i think recently) web novel is like a airplane(completed) and for the matter of fact manga was produced after the anime series ruins the experiance and light and web novel are pretty much amazing
Saaammmeeeee. Mushoku Tensei novel is the one that got me into a hobby of reading, and enable me to ACTUALLY read books! That hobby later on helped me to go through a bunch of academic papers
Honestly got goosebumps so many times during this video, this will always stand as a reminder of how fucking amazing Gigguk is at his job, as shit as his taste in food may be. This could have easily devolved into a simple top ten list made to cash in on a trend, as I'm sure many other "year in review" videos have done, but instead we got a entertaining, emotionally relatable, and thoughtful introspective that never feels like it was made without a purpose. Even as my taste in content and style may change, I will never say no to a video made by this legend.
I absolutely loved your best anime list for 2021. This was the best video on "best of ... and here's why," that I've seen in a long time. You didn't just give half-hearted answers like some people do. You were sincere and insightful. You reminded me that I don't have to have words to explain why I love something, just the heart to. Odd taxi was hands down my favorite. All I heard about the show going in was "yeah this show is now one of my favorites" and I was like huh guess I'll watch it. I watched the whole thing in one sitting and was blown away. A mystery that literally comes together in the back of a taxi and the wacky characters that frequent it. The idea itself is just so genius I'm convinced whoever came up with it is the next messiah. And it's executed so damn well that even when I try I can't say I have any legitimate criticisms of it. Except maybe that they cut the sax solo out of half of the intros to get a couple seconds more runtime. Although if it means a couple more seconds of the show I guess I can't really complain.
The moment you think Rudeus is overpowered he gets his ass handed to him. It shows how experience, craftiness and tactics matter and you don't just win just because you're the overpowered MC of an isekai - that's what I love so much about jobless reincarnation

I never watched Mushoku Tensei as it was being Aired, then a friend told me to watch it just as the Winter Season was ending Binged it and it was an experience to say the least. The water, the air, the terrain, EVERYTHING was amazing. It all felt like one big fever dream. The music, the feeling that I was a kid again playing outside along with Rudy and Sylphiette. The world building, character progression and what felt like a dream. I remember finishing Season 1 Part 1 and listening to the theme song thinking to myself "Wow, I cant believe I watched this masterpiece". It felt like I was seeing the world in a different light. This Anime came out 6 months after I had begun watching Anime and I have binged every "Top" anime that has been released (excluding animes like One piece and Naruto) and Mushoku Tensei is by far the most immersive and enjoyable Anime I have ever seen. It spikes you with a Dopamine rush no matter if you're feeling down or already happy. You WILL enjoy it.
I finished watching it in a day, and then finished reading the subsequent volumes that haven't been adapted in a week. Mushoku Tensei is a masterpiece and I can't wait for the later volumes to be adapted.
Buy an read the light novel, you probably have the misconception that reading wont be as good as watching a show and i used to have that misconception aswell, but i can say with 100% certainty that the light novel is twice as good as the anime. Im glad to see more and more people enjoy my favourite anime/light novel of all time
1000% what these guys are saying, as someone who normally just consumes isekai endlessly, this show is one of 3 I've read all the source material for, absolutely incredible experience
Honestly, Nomad is one of the most slept-on anime I have ever seen. Everything from the plot, characters, incredible soundtrack, and themes that Japan does not ever cover (ie immigration, Hispanic culture) are incredibly original and well executed. I still jam most of the soundtrack while driving and the impact some of the major characters left on my heart will be felt for years. Flawless anime imo. And people who trashed it because they wanted more "action" totally missed the point of the show.
A lot of efforts must've been put into this vid.(especially the number of memes you've put in) And honestly man, I enjoyed it so much! Keep up the good work, Gigguk.
I had a minor nose bleed while watching amd when I saw that ps2 game old man saying "many years ago I was... chinese" the blood sprayed everywhere around me from laughter :-D
jesus christ as soon as the mushoku tensei theme started playing my whole body shuddered with chills. I love the anime so much and I'm truly happy that many others can appreciate it for what it truly is and look past the isekai ecchi tags. Season 1 was good but season 2 pushed the boundaries even further. Honestly the ending of season 2 broke my heart (in a good way ig I'm not actually depressed) so yeah I can't fucking wait for season 3. Kudos
bro i couldnt wait no more, i finished the manga, now on the light novel volume 19. Honestly if you enjoyed the anime as much as I did i highly recommend the novel. Only sad part is there is no animation, voice acting or music that plays along with the novel. What keeps me still reading is the world building. The more they progress in the light novel there is more world buliding and story that is to be told. Anyways highly suggest it.
2020 left me pretty depressed. The pandemic and lack of good anime. 2021 resurrected my love to anime. As you said, even though Arcane isn't an anime, it was the show I gave a chance after nearly 2 years of not watching anime. Arcane and Mushoku brought back the love for animation I thought was gone.

It was a very nice honoring of him.
He literally made me want to watch more anime and make me understand there is more to explore in this medium. I guess anime will never die as far as gigguk makes vedio about anime.

Indeed. Can always appreciate it when a studio doesn't show the opening to add more content.

I think Mushoku Tensei captivated a lot of people because of the excellent world building. Other animated series such as Avatar The Last Airbender, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, and Attack on Titan all share this quality as well. Things like history, different cultures, world conflicts, etc. are all things that these shows build upon and it really makes the difference in overall quality and enjoyment.
absolutely
100% agree.
AOT does not have excellent worldbuilding at all. There is so much vagueness and the ending really drops the ball on this aspect.

Genshin? I only know of Jenshin Impact
People can say whatever they want, but Genshin Impact has an amazing OST. If someone disagree, they are just professional haters.
Wait when?
It is truly a one-of-a-kind anime that not everyone can appreciate since most of the viewers have not gone through that transition yet.
i didnt find it that sad.
Couldn’t have said it better. The ending got me feeling a type of sadness that no other anime has made me feel, as you said it’s not sadness in tears but rather emptiness. Took me a while to figure out that feeling isn’t negative.
I'm really surprised that spoilers
It had even a remotely happy ending. I need to watch a 5 part series with each video being 4 hours long to even begin to understand what I watched.
This was really well said, Glad to see more people appreciate the show.
Yeah the last episode hit me like a fucking truck. Probably because it hits really close to home for some, and maybe less for others.

Never in my life did I picture myself genuinely enjoying an anime about an idol group. . . But then I watched ZLS. . .
Definitely one of my all time favorites and I feel like it has been looked over by so many.
OMG so true the most underrated show of the year
i love it as well!
Oh look who it is
Mushoku Tensei is a beautiful journey, a magnificent anime. The music just perfectly suits and makes everyone feels like they are a part of a story
Mushoku Tensei is a dream to me.
I heard the studio worked on Mushoku tensei for 3 years before release
Massive respect
@@carlosdanielcalderonmontoy3723 Ikr. Finally an anime which is outright pedooo.
@@TheFourthWinchester 🤣🤣
That Mushoku Tensei’s opening credits are NOT TO BE SKIPPED make it AOTY for me. When the OP kicks in, I pay more attention, because every episode brings you through the region they’re in, the activities they’re doing. Its an episode in of itself. Good lord I cannot understand just how good it is.
Yeah, the fact that it counts as innovation to not make the opening credits a time filler copy paste job is kind of sad, but I agree.
And the music is god tier
@@delphicdescant To be fair to other shows, it does seem like MT has a bigger animation budget, plus the traveling aspect lends itself more this montage format where you can progress the story without dialog.
@@delphicdescant It's not just innovation for anime, but any show with an opening ever, I have never seen a show change the fundamentals of a show like mushoku tensei, and I loved it.
The Mushoku OPs were breathtaking indeed. The only other anime i remember doing something similar(playing the start of an episode alongside the OP) is Aria, which is my favorite. The Mushoku ED songs are amazing as well.
literally so happy that number 1 was placed as number 1, really loved it and wanted it to be more publicized than it was
It makes me so happy to see you put mushoku at number 1.
It's not going to get renewed based on the media criticism of the MC being a pedophile
@@leleo2219 jokes on you i guess
@@Vigeroy I mean, it's not confirmed for a s2 so not really lmao
@@leleo2219 that media criticism is from a minority in the west, it’s done really well in Japan and outside of it. The anime greatly boosted LN sales and the blu-rays have been selling well in JP
Gigguk PLEASE don't stop making videos, you're one of the few channels I still watch INSTANTLY when I see them pop up.
Everytime I bother my friends and tell them that you released another video and I want to talk to them about it :D
Keep up the great work!
Super glad Vivy is on the list, just such an amazing show. Along with Ranking of Kings, Wit did an incredible job last year.
Agreed. Vivy was such a good show it’s a shame it didn’t get more exposure
They're goated. I still have to watch that bride anime.
Honestly a blessing in disguise, glad they handed AOT to Mappa
And they will spy x family along with cloverworks this year
I couldn’t agree more. But ousama ranking does not get enough attention.
it seems that anime has really branched out in art. i’m really happy that different styles are being given a shot bc their effects and stories can be just as gorgeous and effective as the way anime has traditionally looked
I don't think enough people are commenting on how amazing and impactful the editing and presentation of this video are. Fantastic job Gigguk!
for someone who has not watched much anme this time around(mostly reading manga) im really happy and glad I watched a few of the best ones of this year, ill have to look at watching others
A story about a pedophile who gets to molest underage girls in another world is what reinvigorates your passion for the medium?

I rarely comment on videos, and this one will probably get lost in the thousands of comments, but I still feel like I should say this: this such an incredible video.
A full half an hour paying homage to this art form that makes us sometimes still feel like kids, that makes us learn, grow, laugh and ugly-cry. Fantastic script-writing on your end, Garnt. You've outdone yourself, and this could easily be considered your magnum opus, at least for now.
Good morning. Good night. Thank you. Goodbye.
For real he outdone himself, congrats

Macross 82-99, Fun Tonight down right one of the best future funk songs. Thx for using it
I almost cried watching this list because some of these anime are just so good. It's been an amazing year for anime.
The manga?
@@-bacon_bacon- manga is like a fuking slow train
meanwhile any is like a car (fast but after completion slow)
light novel is like bullet train(vol 14 has produced i think recently)
web novel is like a airplane(completed)
and for the matter of fact manga was produced after the anime series ruins the experiance
and light and web novel are pretty much amazing
Saaammmeeeee. Mushoku Tensei novel is the one that got me into a hobby of reading, and enable me to ACTUALLY read books! That hobby later on helped me to go through a bunch of academic papers
where do i start reading if i want to continue right after the anime end?
I loved this video and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your stuff.
The way you worded mushoku tensai (sorry if I spelt that wrong) was so inspiring it actually sent chills down my spine. I couldn’t have worded it better myself

Although if it means a couple more seconds of the show I guess I can't really complain.
ehehe that would make Martin Scorsese the next messiah cuz taxi driver :P
i'm joking and also yes it's really so great :D
The moment you think Rudeus is overpowered he gets his ass handed to him. It shows how experience, craftiness and tactics matter and you don't just win just because you're the overpowered MC of an isekai - that's what I love so much about jobless reincarnation
This x10 🙌he was badass, many characters were but 1 mistake and boom people die. It made mushoku tensei so realistic and every won battle had to be earned
Rudeus is never OP. He is really strong, but there are at least dozen people who completely destroy him in 1v1 fight, even at the end of the story.

I never watched Mushoku Tensei as it was being Aired, then a friend told me to watch it just as the Winter Season was ending
Binged it and it was an experience to say the least.
After finishing the anime I went and read all the ln from 1-10. It’s so good and the little details that were cut from the anime.
@@Lawlololololololol I completely agree
Honestly, Nomad is one of the most slept-on anime I have ever seen. Everything from the plot, characters, incredible soundtrack, and themes that Japan does not ever cover (ie immigration, Hispanic culture) are incredibly original and well executed. I still jam most of the soundtrack while driving and the impact some of the major characters left on my heart will be felt for years. Flawless anime imo. And people who trashed it because they wanted more "action" totally missed the point of the show.
I'm glad Nomad got a spot. I was worried a lot of people had missed out on hearing about it when it really deserved to be seen
A lot of efforts must've been put into this vid.(especially the number of memes you've put in)
And honestly man, I enjoyed it so much!
Kudos
Its not season2. Its season 1 part 2.

bro i couldnt wait no more, i finished the manga, now on the light novel volume 19.
