So about Tonikawa..
I just finished reading the first four volumes and it's honestly such a good manga.
The series somehow manages to make more references in it's first four volumes then Gintama.
It doesn't just reference anime, at one point, THEY LITERALLY NAME ALMOST EVERY MARVEL MOVIE!!
Not only that, but the mangaka comments on what's happening in the story and what the characters are saying and doing.
This kind of thing adds a lot of charm and personality to manga.
Also, it's a really fucking cute and wholesome manga.

best anime in the last 5 years
Not an anime but The Owl House is a cartoon that rings the same as Lay Off Aizouken! In a "they get me" kind of way where they constantly make references to the toxic scrutiny that has shaped the way public media is portrayed such as the Creative Process (more specifically for writing a straightforward story) and a quick reference to burnout. Good episode, you'll notice it when you give it a watch.
Fruits Basket Season 2 was fantastic, really took what made the first season great and expanded on it in depth and with emotion
Here hoping everything goes well for the last season this year.

bruh wtf is Akudama Drive, the show was an original, had a good soundtrack, good quality, amazing setting and it ended well for an only 12 episode show, honestly it was some of the best of 2020.

Yeah. That episode was hardcore relatable and made my love for the show transcend anything I ever expected. Heck, when the full witch tea party happened I felt I was absolutely required to read the Web Novel, which I never expected to want. It was fantastic too, and I can't wait for the anime to cover the comimg arcs.

I watch animated shows and treat it simply as a medium of storytelling. When I store Made in Abyss is in my hard drive, I store it in the same folder as The Lord of the Rings, the Fantasy folder. Not in the same folder as Sound Euphonium because Sound Euphonium is in the Coming Of Age folder.

Yeah that was a pretty great scene, and it gave us insight into who he was in the past and what he lost when he got transported to the other world. For me though, the one anime that has been able to have that effect on me so far has been Violet Evergarden. Damn that show destroyed me.

I was trying to make a typical "angry youtube comment" about how Gigguk doesn't understand the end of Great Pretender.
Then when I tried to actually explain it...fuck man this is bullshit.
All I know is that after 3 rewatches, the ending now makes 5% more sense to me.
But hey, I still enjoy it. Almost like seeing modern art and not understanding it one bit, you just enjoy looking at what's in front of you for the fun of doing so.
Please explain the end of great pretender, cause I didn't understand it.
the first two parts are 100% worth watching but the third part can be skipped imo
I just came here after finally watching the episode and gigguk is absolutely right on all fronts. The final strategy was fucking stupid for the very simple reasons he pointed out, and his gripes are also reasonable, it was just too farfetched.
ngl, getting the bad guys to join in is like, to me it just seems like "hey we can be bad people, but selling children on the market, that is way too far for us."
