I just stumbled across this video and there it is, my comment, written 8 years ago. I was 16-17 years old. Sometimes I think how I got so weird, but it seems I was always like it.
Every once in a while I have to get my fix of this spoken word masterpiece. The first time it was repulsive, the second a little amusing. The third time I realized Gira is a supreme comedic genius.
I feel like this has inspired me to be a better person. This poem has given me a model of the worst possible person and I strive to be different from him in every way.
Listen to this, and Sewer Election's "Kassettmusik" at the same time. It's a sick, twisted quiet ambient noise release, and it fit almost perfectly to this. Just keep it at 50 - 75% volume so you can still hear Gira speak.
But for real, this seems, at least in part, a comment on people who worship authority The details are pretty elaborate, and really makes you feel inside this characters mind, the way his thoughts mix with the description really help But some parts are too over the top, I even laughed sometimes because of how ridiculous some lines were Also, scrotie mcboogerballs
offputting and poetically sickening. i got here because of lydia lunch, but this is very interesting and viscerally gross in its own right. really paints a disturbing picture of abuse and self-hatred. painful to listen to.
Clever way to promote the record, but this should be equally true of just about any noise or ambient release that doesn't include vocals that would get in the way of Gira's narration. It's a neat trick, but I don't quite understand the upvotes.
It sounds like he's trying way too hard to cram all this shock in one poem or short story or whatever. It sounds a bit pretentious but that's ok. I love Swans but I'd really like to know what he had on the TV in the background, it'd be funny to know cause then you can assume that that show inspired this poem/short story.

I feel somehow magnetically attracted to michael gira’s well-written weirdo poetry
It hurts, but I do it for Mister Smothers.
Mr. Smothers is love. Mr. Smothers is life.
I chatspammed this on TF2 and five people left. For some reason I was never kicked.

I love how detailed and well written his stories are while his lyrics are simple sentences
My favourite part is when he starts over
Dr. Aisaitl “Start over... I kick him in the balls...” 😂
The Consumer is a fantastic book. Somehow the morbidity turns into a prayer. Great work.

I feel so rejuvenated after listening to this.
I wonder if when Michael Gira was writing this he thought.. hmm, maybe I should keep this to myself. Nah, fuck it..
You see through me
He is perfect. Michael Gira.
This was amazing. I loved this, it fascinated me. The psyche and mind of this character is so detailed and Gira had my full attention at every line.
