I'm definitely going for that. Still going to do some anime (waiting for some stuff coming in the mail this coming week), and MechWarrior and all - I just needed a bit of a breather honestly.
Thank you, ACL, it is always nice to see you in the comment section! Would be cool if I could get you on a collab for an AC game in the coming year lol
This is one of those games that I remember seeing adds for in gaming magazines but never remember seeing in action. Hell, it took about half-way through the video before I came to the conclusion that the adds I were remembering in my head were real and nothing something I was making up by mixing real memories of similar games with what I was seeing on screen heh. Does look fun though and I do agree that the idea that the big bad runs emotional support for his minions is great. I think this is another game that if done by a small indie team today could take this games ideas and flesh them out into something amazing. But they would need to find the original voice actor for SenTrax, his buttery smooth voice was just too perfect for the character heh.
Oh yeah, MuTank's voice actor is totally irreplicable. This one I totally agree, it could have a decent reboot in this day and age if done again properly. Then again, there is a whole broadcast where Tiny calls into MuTank and tells him to just off himself - so that might not really fit with social norms these days! But, they could always cut it out.
@@KeiNova That actually makes me want them to keep it even more lol. People these days demand everything to be so water-downed on one hand then act like total jerk asses online with the other. Like, edgy humor is ok. It's just humor. Being dicks to people you don't know just because you can is what needs to be water down.
Nice, I never heard of this game before. My first experience playing PlayStation games was via an emulator (Virtual Game Station) that used actual PS1 disks. What played at the time mostly ran well except for some cutscenes in Spyro 2.
I do remember that one, but I use like ePSXe sometimes - and a few others. I have this stupid idea of 'legitimacy' and all, in my reviews. I'm not even a collector, I just have old games and get those I actually want to play lol
@@KeiNova I hold no ill will towards emulation, especially if the ROMs are acquired legally. Some games sold via Steam and maybe other digital distribution services contain unencrypted game ROMs that can be extracted and played on an emulator of choice. Also emulators tend to work best on popular games and software; the further off the beaten path you go the greater chance the emulator will encounter things it didn't account for. As a sidenote: I just came across a forgotten mech game for the PC and Sega Saturn on Wikipedia: Amok. The only thing of note was its use of voxel-based graphics rather than the popular use of polygonal modeling.
Negativity from the internet , especially when its not constructive, is best ignored. Theres really no other way around it. The more attention you give it, the more it will fester. Mandalore made a video at some point aimed at smaller youtubers and he mentioned something like this, which im inclined to agree with. Not to be patronizing ofcourse. Ignoring sounds like captain obvious advice, but there really is nothing that multiplies faster than rage and anger if given the proper attention and fuel. (Except cat videos) Enjoyed the video btw. Ive stuck around ever since I found out you cover mech games. Ive not commented often on your channel but hopefully this makes a teeny bit of difference. Im sure there are plenty of people like me who enjoy your videos in silence. 😊
Thank you for coming out of the shadows, so to speak (lol). My recent hiatus was because of the immense pressure of negativity online, I just wanted to say something about it a little bit here. I've learned a little bit, or just become more defiant with dealing with it, and decided to do my own thing - even if it's a little Mech game featuring a cartoony talking tank! It does help, hearing support from those who watch my videos, trust me. It's nice to hear there are people out there that actually care about what I post!
I still have this game! Unfortunately the disk stopped working the last time I went to play it... I loved Tiny's quips throughout the game, lol. Never was that good at the game, but still had fun as a kid.
I think a played a tiny bit of this on a demo disk, but that certainly didn't reveal much of the details of the storyline or radio-monologs. Certainly sounds like a hidden gem. Sorry you've had to put up with some internet hostility. It is often a side effect of sunk costs - people tend to become very protective of their decisions to justify otherwise frivolous expenses, and reassure themselves they did the right thing. There is also the bike shed problem - very few people will speak up about how to construct a nuclear reactor because that is a highly technical thing, but everyone can have an opinion about a simple outbuilding - so that leads to more arguing. Are you at all familiar with the GearHead Arena series? Rouglike mecha RPGs. th-cam.com/video/3hwjNsvYkqo/w-d-xo.html
You know, that is probably the best way to describe the arguing online. Everyone can say something about it, so everyone will! And no, I'm not but it looks pretty interesting. I'm really in the dark with a lot of very new stuff, so I pretty much figure out about it all through viewer comments like yours!
I played the crap out of this growing up. Loved it so much
I don't blame you, I really found it surprisingly good!
Do your thing. The good ones will stick around the bad ones will leave. You make great videos.

I have to play this. Great work as always Nova.

I remember seeing ads for this as a kid, I wanted it so bad but didn't have a PS1.
Me too, but I never picked it up. I had a PS1, but I think at the time I was too into RPGs.

Interesting game concept. Thanks for reviewing. My first PlayStation was the PS2. So I missed this.
What would you say your favorite PS2 game was?
@KeiNova Metal Gear Solid 2 probably. Or the GTA games
@@RetroPcCupboard Ah, yeah MGS2 was one of my favorites too. I beat that, and the Substance version, more times than I'd probably like to admit!
A true freaking gem! I knew I subscribed to you for a reason!
Thank you! It really was a hidden gem. I wonder why it just isn't talked about anymore?
I rediscovered this one recently and really enjoyed it.
Yeah it's really something, I wish it had taken off.
First... also All time favorite game of mine... I STILL get laugh when Tiny say's "hello carpenters"
Me and my son were a fan of 'See ya later Noodlehead' or I think that was it.
I still have this game! Unfortunately the disk stopped working the last time I went to play it... I loved Tiny's quips throughout the game, lol. Never was that good at the game, but still had fun as a kid.
I can only imagine. I really wish I'd have tried this one out when I was younger, but I think I was hard into RPGs at the time lol
Just wanna say I look forward to your videos regardless of the game covered
I really appreciate this!
I had good luck running Turrican II on FS-UAE Amiga emulator.
Give that emulator a shot.
Would you happen to know where I could get the Kickstarts at all?
@@hemangchauhan2864 oh shit it's MegaApple
