I completely forgot I commented on that old video! Man how time flies! I'm happy to be an invaluable commenter!
Good or bad - all commenters are valuable!
Calling the frozen lake level music "odd" and not awesome is certainly a choice.
It's cool, but a little too fast paces for what I want in a mech game. Also online only, which isn't really what I want in VR.
I totally understand that
How did the controls compare to Federation vs. Zeon? I remember playing a bunch of that game back in the day, and I even still have my copy of it.
It has honestly been so long since I've played that, that I couldn't tell you off the top of my head.
It's crazy to me there's not a Vox Machinae video on your channel.
I honestly didn't know much about it!
Heyo! Amazing video! When using the UI hold the grip to make a pointer finger. Once you do this the UI is easy to navigate. A lot of the mechs personality comes from their use of abilities, definitely recommend learning these, it's your panel on the right. Just need mass to use them, which you get from ammo crates. We will be looking at official support for larger battles, they were a ton of fun, but there's a lot of work to be done, as you point out, to get everything working with it, particularly with the UI. Also, it was a ton of fun playing with you!
It's in every single VR video game seemingly ever for ease of use reasons and yet people cannot seem to grasp the laser pointer finger thing
It does seem to be a good blend of mechwarrior's grit and look with hawken's more basic but fast paced design. Meanwhile, I'm just waiting for someone to make some sort of patlabor sim where you alternate between investigative crime drama and tactical mecha cqc.
That would be amazing and highly original! Sadly, the original Patlabor games don't even do that.
To bad the servers are empty, can never find any other players
As of the 1.0 release I was finding loads of ppl
I find progression systems a huge turnoff, since to get to the good parts of the game I have to dump hours of my life. I don't want to grind. The only thing I want to "progress" is developing skills in something, not some bullshit RPG progression system. The moment I see a progression system, I immediately recognize I've been put on a track and that an exchange is demanded for me to get what I want. I don't want to be manipulated like that unless it links into some story component. Multiplayer progression systems shouldn't exist. Give me a sandbox I can make encounters in and play them with people I like.
Thats a fair opinion, honestly.
You should check out OVRLRD a much more sim like mech game for VR
I still don't want to buy anything that ever involved Palmer Lucky, but good mech games would enthuse me to get a headset from someone else, like if Steam's rumored standalone Deckard is any good. But, what I'd really like is for Hawken to come back, or Strike Vector, though I never played that. Or, yeah, I can try to get Steel Battalion and an OG XBox! 😝
Ah! I knew someone would say it! Hey, if you can get it - get Steel Battalion! I endorse that decision any day!
Maybe next Winter, but, in the nearish future, my next big spends are replacing my iPad Air 2 with an A7 Mini, and I'll probably get a Switch 2, too, unless it doesn't come with an OLED version from the start, especially since I got a Steam Deck OLED this past September and have been loving it. But, considering how well Capcom has been doing the last few years, they have more than enough money to market a new SB with an updated controller suite.
"I enjoy the grind" - Well, I guess we are not alike. I always think that getting rewards for grinding are just distracting players from the fact that the core game play loop cant get them coming back simply because it is good and fun in itself. I must say I would love if Hawken or something dark and gritty would get a VR port. Because essentially Simulation games that do not have the immersion breaking factor of direct character movement do work best in VR in my humble opinion. I mean a good MW in VR would just be amazing.
Thats a perfectly fair and valid opinion. But I'll admit I do like the grind. Otherwise, I don't feel like I'm earning. As I said, completely spoiled. A good MW, like the old pods, would be amazing in VR.
I loved hawken, but I remember it being very grindy
@@bonzwah1 I didn't feel like it was grindy; but I might be mistaken. Not even sure the concept had been solidified back in the day. And I wonder why people enjoy the grind; there must be a reason, otherwise game developers wouldn't put an emphasis on it. So yeah, also absolutely valid opinion on your part of course.
Slap the health stick as it deploys. In-game use presets for loadouts.
I had a few presents loaded, the health stick wasn't working for me to slap, honestly.
This looks very promising. I have a Meta Quest 2 also. For me it's best for fitness apps. But I have enjoyed playing several games for it.
I use it for fitness too, and rhythm games. I think it works best for those. The only real games I ever played on it were Trover, Super Hot, and Pistol Whip. Though I have more, but they made me sick.
I think it'd be cool if we got a Gundam Pod remake in VR, since those Gundam Pods were already on that AR/Simulated Reality line that VR likes to blur anyways. Theres just something timeless about blasting zeeks and chopping feddies in 0079-83 that will never get boring to me
Wow, I would love to see that. I've seen those pods, and I think Gundam would work so good.
Or Armored Core in VR.
Sick! This is what I've been looking for! Didn't know there was a WR vr game ether. Used to play that all the time before it sucked.
The WR VR game is like a whole singleplayer story from what I saw. So, might be worth it!
Underdogs is another vr mech game to check out
I'll keep an eye out. Thank you!
UNDERDOGS MENTIONED!?!
There ARE VR mods for mechwarrior 5 available now.
Thats awesome. But I wanted to do as little fiddling as possible atm. Next year I can try and get into some of the mods.
but they don't work great and they offer zero interaction. what makes dedicated VR games great is using the VR controls, if you can't use it, then it's just a cool novelty.
This actually gave me a new perspective on Order of Ecclesia. Might need to go back and experience them.
Glad I could do that for you! Hope you enjoy them.
Most of us old bucks started out as Clanners.
No doubt, Clans are some of the best stories in Battletech.
this LOOKS good
It definitely looks good, maybe a little too energetic for many I found.
Press 🔼 to change the palette during creation
Alright, thanks
err... Mech 5 / Mech 5 clans both high worth... HIGH... who are these people that complain so much? However clans is kicking my butt pretty hard.,. lol
Lots of people do in my comments. I don't know much of MW5 Mercs, but I know Clans is a great game and I am usually very critical. But it is what it is and others are allowed their opinions!
I always pronounce jaleco as ja lee co
I honestly don't think there is an accepted way of saying it. So you likely can't ever be wrong!
My favorite part of MechWarrior 3 were the movement animations of the mechs. The way they transition from walking to running. Each mech has that feel to them when they hit that full-speed stride. IMO none of the MechWarrior games after MW3 managed to capture that and I find it disappointing.
Can someone tell me why Microsoft was obsessed with the Uziel* during this time?😂
I honestly couldn't tell you
against officer pods, all their weaponry is front facing, if you watch the intro video, one of the parts you'll see is a veritech fighting the officer pod boss, the veritech is behind the boss and tries to stay behind the entire time, it is not a bullet v bullet fight, its a movement fight, you want to stay behind the officer pod whilst peppering him with your heavy weaponry
Thanks for that
well I played alot of GA. It was a fun Game and what I like is parrying. and also this game was more in PVP is more balance than the Story. And yes the multiplayer was a miss opportunity to grow.
I got into the parrying after a while and it was a nice touch in those Archangel fights!
thank you algorithm for bringing me exactly what I need
I'm glad it brought you on over
This does look neat to just chill out too. Being a single player guy too i might dip in and play to relax.
It is good for that for a playthrough, I think. But it does sort of fall off when you become ultra powerful in about 20 minutes.
GearBits is doing this in a fashion
I'll have to give a look, I've never heard of it.
The ol " 3 hrs and it didnt record!!??" I feel ya lol
It happens more then I'd like. I recorded MW4 Mercenaries for 8 hours - only to check the footage and it got caught on the pause screen after 20 minutes. The rest was just a still image of that with sound!
I think the camera other game also didn't help, but that's not really Kei's fault
Nah the whole game looks like this
I'm going to be honest this video was kind of a struggle to watch because you're Robot was fluorescent blue for most of the time. I appreciate your showing off the customization options but if your capturing footage you should maybe consider how easy to watch you video is. Generally though the video was pretty informative I never heard about this game before.
I'm sorry! Most of the game is bright and fluorescent sadly. The whole game just looks like this, very fast and colorful. Perhaps a bit visually overstimulating for most?
@@KeiNova Maybe a bit? TBH I cant really stand the GB4 build that use glowing paint either, no worries though! it was great video regardless.
This game really seems like... I really don't wanna say it, but diet coke version of Daemon X Machina? But DXM has a singleplayer campaign, several co-op missions and also PVP just to finish it off(though PVP is a little dead as of this time). I'm sure it has a lot of uniqueness, but DXM has customizable mechs, with a central core built around playing your way, if you want it melee, longrange, explosives, physical, beams. Practically anything
You probably aren't too wrong, though I don't think it was intentional or anything. Reminds me I need to play DxM though!
@@KeiNova dude i love DXM. Doesn't have all the management stuff of armored core. Just fun to play IMO, even with the repetitiveness integral to it ~~yjnie if you need someone to do co-op with hit me. Up ~~
I love the idea of the devs holding pre-release tournaments both to gather data on the combat engine and also to market it and get the word out about it. As a huge fan of fighting games, I've seen SO many fighting games hit Kickstarter having done absolutely no work to market themselves, and just die on the vine completely. Granted, Garrison Archangel here didn't _explode_ in popularity I suppose (I blame the lack of console ports, as well as the fact that it's multiplayer focused by _not_ f2p), but still, it made the right moves pre-release...
I think it was a lot of good will, but it's sad that the game just stopped so abruptly. So, I agree. Certainly, porting it to the Switch might have really garnered a more decent play base because it would really work on a mobile scale, in my opinion. Just being able to pick this one up and play it between trips or on the go just seems so much better than sitting down at a PC and firing it up, just to eventually realize it's very 'mobile' feeling? I hope that makes sense! Thanks for the comment!
Armored Core and ZOE? Looks more like Gundam vs series mission mode where you fight against bots
@@vilomaxus2463 Never played it!
Damn.... I got excited when you said Armor Core meets Zone of the Ender (putting the cock back into cockpit, one mecha at a time!) till you got to the simple combat. I mean, what's really the point of pouring time and energy into the customization system if it adds nothing really to the game play. Oh well, at that price it might be worth a check once I have the free time to use my gaming laptop for actual gaming rather then an over powered word editor heh.
Yeah! My Gaming PC was that for a few weeks there. I was totally burnt out and unsure what to do next. There is a demo though, if you aren't sure. And I wish I could answer that. I think the game had a lot of ambitions and it looked VERY different at first - but what it became when I played it was what you see here! Musou styled games aren't that bad but its basic as hell if you're looking for a Sim.
Great video!
@@turtle_juju_playz_gamez2490 Thank you so much!
like the story ! but the Mech combat just feels like a arcade game, nothing to thank about just shoot the bad guys boring not a lot of strat to it mech warrior 3 felt like a sim this feels like a cartoon i would rather play part 5 the combat and impact of it just the feel of it was better but i still thank it was a lil arcade feeling aswell and the thing that really bothers me is the scale of the world around you feels fake and not scaled right wish some one would make a Mech sim that felt real with the story telling of Mechwarrior clans
I started on MW3 rather than 2, and while I like MW2, the texturing for MW2:M is just so CRUNCHY that I can't live with it. A shame, because the salvage system seems like the best ever done in a MW game, if only i could get the Titanium edition to work!
you left out certain elements Mainy the take over Enemy system as well as Crippling enemy body parts for more fun and advantage situations moments
I did. I realized that after.
The soundtrack for the Saturn version is just the soundtrack from MW2: Mercenaries
The mech building is still my favorite in mechwarrior 2 mercs. It follows the rule book at the time to the letter which is nice. Building mechs in mw4 and the new 5 is extremely boring.
was good but from todays sight its very datet and limited. mech 2 mercs was bit further.
17:12 The song playing is this clip is from the mercenaries expansion of MechWarrior 2. And by God that soundtrack was amazing, bit standalone and in game
I'll never forget defeating the Annihilator in my Bushwhacker, switching to the Annihilator, going "This is too slow," and proceeding to beat the entire game in a Bushwhacker.
