Well done! I can tell there is some type of disability here and you did so well with the leveling of the deck to the turf and have made it accessible with very little maintenance to do. The high planters are another indicator of a disability and are at a perfect level for someone in a wheelchair to be able to weed. 😀👍

Given the condition of the garden before, they definitely deserve artificial grass only. Practical choice for them I suppose.

There had to have been a reason to use the fake grass. Maybe somebody unable to maintain real grass or with mobility issues. The good thing is it can be removed when it's time for a change.

@@kris2455 what a load of rubbish. The fake grass won't kill everything underneath. You clearly know very little about landscaping. Roots and stems from persistent weeds and shrubs will penetrate it very easily. Artificial turf is not zero maintenance either. It requires a proper sub level to ensure it is weed free for future purpose.

I totally get astro when it's a tiny spot, like a couple m2 and mowing is absolutely more effort than it's worth. But for anything bigger, the owners need to just stop being lazzy asses and mow the damn lawn each week... or better yet let it grow into a meadow and mow it once a year. Also it's the look of it, there's one house on my estate with astro and easily looks the worst, even worse that my mossy lawn lol.

Lovely hard work. I understand about artificial grass. I’ve spent almost 40 years treating my grass, reseeding my grass, returfing my grass, costing me thousands of pounds. I eventually went for artificial and never looked back. The plants and trees and flowers in my garden bring the wildlife in. It never went away.
I see you’ve used beautiful grey composite decking. I have the similar. Best investment I’ve done! But wow, it is HOT standing on it on a hot summers day!

  • @FaeryFreya

Being that it seems to be all on one level with raised bedding areas, it may be the person who lives there has a mobility issue and this is the only way they can enjoy their garden! Fake grass, in this instance, would be cheaper in the long run, instead of having to hire a gardener on a weekly basis to keep it short and free of weeds. Walk a mile in their shoes before you judge their decisions.

No bird, no butterfly will ever set foot or wing into this "garden", despite all the heavy work you invested here. For a second I thought the result would be great, but yuk! I would not accept a project like this.

Gardens are meant to be natural not 'neat and clean' like this type of gardening. This takes the minimalism BS to a whole new level.
