I'm so glad to see young ladies watching this!! I wish this guy was there when I was growing up, trying to figure out my way with relationships and love. I'm grateful though to have heard him before I turn 40 in a few years. I'm in no hurry to get married unless I can find a partner with the right level of maturity to help me build. I know this is going to sound selfish, I can no longer tolerate women my age, most of the ones I meet are acting and thinking immaturely and yet want to have children because the clock is ticking. I used to ignore younger ladies because I felt that we just didn't have that much in common (a very faulty judgment) or that they just wouldn't be interested or faithful I'm slowly realizing now that I have alot more in common with young focused women, than a woman who is drifting at30 (but doesn't know it). Pointers to girls, get to know the man well. Study his character and the company he keeps. Listen to how he communicates with people and how much he lets you in. Please please don't be fooled by the exterior facades:; hair, car, religion (very careful here!). With the right support and mindset a man can rebuild himself at any age and men who've turned sketchy past into solid characters deserve close attention. Read read and study human psychology and traits of narcissism and the likes. You will save yourself alot of trouble. The way I see it God knows we men are prone to be stupid and slow to mature...that's why our capability to produce is extended almost indefinitely. I always dated younger then me but they eventually didn't work out because I realised that I was making more sound decisions then them which eventually made them feel like I was disrespecting them. Am now with a wonderful man who is 9 years older and I love that he is more mature then me mentally and he takes the lead. No regrets!

I am a first born girl and i cannot wait to get married and allow someone to take care of me. I am tired of constantly giving and parents having so many expectations. Even whilst I was in university, when I would stay in my room and revise I was seen as anti social and unhelpful. Then, when I graduated they expected me to help more around the house. I am not your maid. If you cannot afford a maid then distribute the house chores amongst all your children.

@Full circle with Joyce, I will like to suggest a topic with Benjamin. What does a child need for full development and stability. Is co-parenting a good thing really for the child and will this child be as stable as one who grew in actual family with a father and mother together? What's the psychology behind this. I think co-parenting does not solve the problem fully. This discussion is very important. Before we get children it is important that we ensure they will have a present father and mother together. As Benjamin says, children are not born by wind pollination. I would really love such a discussion. I believe a child who is bred out out of a family set up will lack some thing. I married at 28yrs and she was 22yrs been married for 25yrs now so sometimes I don't agree with Benjamin about age gap,sometimes people mature differently.
Me and my wife have been together for 18 years and just got back together three days ago after being separated for 6 months. Divorce was on the docket but we are doing our best to keep this from happening. Things are definitely looking up but it's still very challenging but it seems to get better every day. We have three children, 2 boys with autism (17 & 3) and our baby girl with Down Syndrome. Our daughter with Down Syndrome had two open heart surgeries fairly recently at 5 months old, then a pacemaker installed. She also has Hirschsprung's disease which led to her having a colostomy bag installed at five days old. She has several more surgeries to go. If I can say this to anyone, I would tell you do what you need to do to make it work. Sometimes you need to suck it up. You can't be fickle. Fight for your family. People say you shouldn't stay together for your children, well that's fine. But if you still love each other as well as your children and are split due to circumstances or tragedies that have put you in a state of constant depression, stress, about everything you can imagine in this situation like this, then you must come together and not give up. You must keep moving forward and keep on fighting. Many other people have it a lot easier or a lot worse than me/us but I've certainly come out of the other side a lot more knowledgeable and appreciative of my wife and all the things our family is capable of when we are a team instead of constantly at odds and bickering. We are learning to get along again and not take our stress out on each other and our kids get to enjoy both of their parents as well. This is what it's all about. For all of you going through tough times out there, keep your chin up and like I said, don't stop fighting, don't lose hope, never lose hope. If you truly care about the other person you're married to, you can't lose hope and you need to keep fighting. If you don't, then it's time to pack it up and move on. The way I see it God knows we men are prone to be stupid and slow to mature...that's why our capability to produce is extended almost indefinitely. I always dated younger then me but they eventually didn't work out because I realised that I was making more sound decisions then them which eventually made them feel like I was disrespecting them. I am a first born girl and i cannot wait to get married and allow someone to take care of me. I am tired of constantly giving and parents having so many expectations. Even whilst I was in university, when I would stay in my room and revise I was seen as anti social and unhelpful. Then, when I graduated they expected me to help more around the house. I am not your maid. If you cannot afford a maid then distribute the house chores amongst all your children.

I will like to suggest a topic with Benjamin.
What does a child need for full development and stability. Is co-parenting a good thing really for the child and will this child be as stable as one who grew in actual family with a father and mother together? What's the psychology behind this.
I think co-parenting does not solve the problem fully. This discussion is very important. Before we get children it is important that we ensure they will have a present father and mother together.
As Benjamin says, children are not born by wind pollination.

I married at 28yrs and she was 22yrs been married for 25yrs now so sometimes I don't agree with Benjamin about age gap,sometimes people mature differently.
He says that they are outliers...meaning you are one of the few people who mature early.
I think what he says reasonates with the young people today ie between 25-35.

Me and my wife have been together for 18 years and just got back together three days ago after being separated for 6 months. Divorce was on the docket but we are doing our best to keep this from happening. Things are definitely looking up but it's still very challenging but it seems to get better every day. We have three children, 2 boys with autism (17 & 3) and our baby girl with Down Syndrome. Our daughter with Down Syndrome had two open heart surgeries fairly recently at 5 months old, then a pacemaker installed. She also has Hirschsprung's disease which led to her having a colostomy bag installed at five days old. She has several more surgeries to go. If I can say this to anyone, I would tell you do what you need to do to make it work. Sometimes you need to suck it up. You can't be fickle. Fight for your family. People say you shouldn't stay together for your children, well that's fine. But if you still love each other as well as your children and are split due to circumstances or tragedies that have put you in a state of constant depression, stress, about everything you can imagine in this situation like this, then you must come together and not give up. You must keep moving forward and keep on fighting. Many other people have it a lot easier or a lot worse than me/us but I've certainly come out of the other side a lot more knowledgeable and appreciative of my wife and all the things our family is capable of when we are a team instead of constantly at odds and bickering. We are learning to get along again and not take our stress out on each other and our kids get to enjoy both of their parents as well. This is what it's all about. For all of you going through tough times out there, keep your chin up and like I said, don't stop fighting, don't lose hope, never lose hope. If you truly care about the other person you're married to, you can't lose hope and you need to keep fighting. If you don't, then it's time to pack it up and move on. But if you love her or him, keep fighting, HARD! My advice for men (From personal experience):
1. Raise your (men) own value in relationship, love & the sexual marketplace. Focus on yourself first. It's a competitive world. Nothing is free.
2. Accept that life is not fair.
3. Whining doesn't solve any problem, action does.
4. Take every relationship (including marriage) loosely. Do not hold any relationship tightly.
5. When you are in a relationship, enjoy every moment positively till last. But always keep in mind-- she may leave you or you may leave her (not a big deal). Move on.
6. Never ever be emotionally attached to any woman. Love her, but never ever fall in love with her.
7. Never put her on a pedestal.
8. You need to unlearn many things (from childhood) so that you can learn new things.
