  • Hey Everyone, Its Nathan here with B3D Tech Solutions (Burnstation3D)...Today I'm doing a quick non edited video showing the results of loosening the backlash nuts on the Zaxis carriage so the printer will home properly. I got this printer in a liquidation auction (likely amazon return) and it was not able to home due to the grinding and resistance. it was so bad the previous user had the bed misaligned from trying a few times... so after fixing that the only and i mean only resolve was so loosen the backlash nuts. Let me know in comments if you have had this issue with this printer...after doing this its one of my favorite 3D printers to use...amazing speed and quality prints.
Note: Spacing of bed on both sides is perfect, nothing is bent...i tried to find everything else b4 determining its the backlash nuts...its like magic how 1 turn from finger tight makes issue disappear completely. Good luck!
    Cheers,
    Nate

i don't have this issue, but your lead screws look dry, do you lubricate them? I lubricate with a 3m lubricant.

until i clean them im using air tool lubricant but am switching to something a little thicker. i did similar loosening the backlash nut on my ender 5pro and got much better results with z travel. its likely due to misalignment but to resolve that likely would be complete tear down.
