My brother and I would save the bus money my parents gave us everyday to take the public bus home after school, we'd walk home 5 miles every day for a couple weeks to save up the money to buy a new Genesis game, good memories, totally worth it! Except for Bubsy😞 your San Francisco trip reminded me of that, thanks!
I got my first copy of “Super Mario All-Stars” back in 1993 when I was 14 and just starting High School. Remember this promotion? I just also got my first SNES, and they had a promo where, if you sent in the Proof of Purchase from the box, along with a check or money order for, I think it was, $4.95, for Shipping & Handling, you got a free copy of “Super Mario All-Stars.” You may have had to send the store receipt for the SNES, too, but I don’t really remember.
Love your Mario AllStars story... My Mum did the same thing with the Sgt Pepper LP in the 60's! Blew all her holiday money on the first day... By all accounts, my Grandparents were NOT best pleased (!)
Minor correction, there was a "Super Battletank:War in the Gulf" on Snes. It didn't have the external view like the 2nd one did. It also didnt have a password system, so you had to kick Saddam's ass all in one go. I really liked this video. How else am I going to tell the difference between Star Wars, and SUPER Star Wars? 😆.
Super Battletank 2 is the sequel to Super Battletank released on the SNES, I have a copy from when I was a kid. It might be listed under "Garry Kitchen's Super Battletank: War in the Gulf", which is how the front label has it shown. Top spine just says Super Battletank: War in the Gulf.
When I downloaded the roms on my Everdrive I realized that there are more titles on the SNES that begin with the letter S than there were games released on Turbo Chip for the Turbo Grafx in total.
My Dad and I used to watch the demo for Super Mario World and go on and about the graphics while at Child's World. He couldn't afford it, so we had to wait a while for it. Super Batter Up has a bunch of nostalgia for me as well, since my brothers and I got this, Paperboy 2, and the Super Mario World bundle for Christmas a year later. We played all of the games for hours, but my Dad is a huge baseball fan, so he loved watching us play this game. I recently replayed it, and it didn't hold up to the hype, but the nostalgia glasses were happily used that day. Super Metroid is a game that I go back to every year; I love it that much. I still think it is better than Metroid Dread. My nephew and I debated this, because he thinks new stuff is better than old stuff. He changed his mind after playing both. Super Punch Out! and Super Smash TV were commonly rented from PharMor. I wish we could get new versions of that soon. Super Street Fighter II and the Super Star Wars series were too, but we didn't like them as much. SSFII was weird to me, and the Super Star Wars games were too difficult. I've played a few others you've mentioned, but this comment is getting super long. Thanks for the Super video, John. Have a super day!
4:40 Unfortunately, you are mistaken, there was a Super Battletank 1 on the SNES (and other platforms like the Genesis, though not the NES). I guess you'll have to change the title to (almost) EVERY SUPER GAME :P
I am hoping to find tournament Cyberball 20somthin .....which one was it? Itt was s classic bundle of something but cant remember the title...any help. Geetz big kudos n tys Jason
I'm probably the biggest fan of the sports genre for Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis I just love how they're super cheap well the ones that are not rare
Super Tennis... oh damn, I remember when we played it or the first time at one of my cousins' house. He bought it from the store then we brang the game out of the box, then we started playing it. After an indecipherable amount of time where we tried to win a match the only thing we ever wanted was to destroy that goddamned game, because it was too freakin' difficult for us! We hated it to the point that my cousin sent it back to the store and got a copy of Super Street Fighter II instead. A much better choice indeed. Today I own a CIB copy of Super Tennis just for the pleasure of pain: every time I try to play it I lose, so those moments always come back to my mind.
Christmas of 1992 I got my SNES with SMW and my parents also picked out Super Double Dragon. Because it was 2 players simultaneously, the first game my brother and I played was Super Double Dragon, so I will always have a soft spot for it.
Are you going to do Nintendo 64 games with 64 in the title next? Oh, another idea.... Wii games with Wii in the title! Or DS games with DS in the title.... or how about a challenging one..... GameCube games with GameCube in the title. Find me one of those! I tease, but I enjoy your content. Keep it up, John Riggs!
Interesting about some of the games covered here. The Super Mario games and Super Street Fighter 2 are not named Super because of the system. Also, I like the way you say starts with super in the title which means the Tecmo Super Bowl trilogy gets omitted although that is another one where the super doesn't come from the system.
I can’t believe that someone spent time to send you and email to inform u that HE finished metroid. I can imagine how many crazy emails u can get, wow 🤣
lol why is the third bases loaded trying to be a 007 game? 😂 love this list videos cus we always learn something and find out about games we never heard off what “sucks” is that it tends to add games to the collection list lol yay more money to spend hehe
@3:19 "Super bases loaded 2 actually is a pretty decent baseball game." Stone me now, but it is comments like this, is why Sega Lord X maintains my viewer subscription.
I have played and loved almost every "Super" game developed by Nintendo... except Super Tennis. I can't be interested in sports. Also funny, in my country saturday morning cartoons were always licensed so my saturday mornings continued being cartoon-filled through the 90's, my country's channel just licensed them from the cartoon channels rather than from the public US networks that had ran them before. Fun perspective.
You are very mistaken on the idea that Saturday morning cartoons didn’t exist in the same way in the 1990s, as it was a vastly superior decade compared to the assembly-line shows of the 1970s and the 30-minute toy ads of the 1980s. I mean, Tiny Toons, Animaniacs, Batman, X-Men, Spider-Man…
Well if it starts with super then we know it be awesome lol For me super Mario world prob the best game released on the snes . The fact it was a launch title too made it even more impressive
I think it's the sprite size, combined with whipping in all directions. A fully upgraded whip covers a LOT of space on screen and kind of makes sub weapons not aa useful
Super Godzilla does occasionally have boss fights, though they are a bit odd; it's been a while, but it's something like you have to hit the enemy, then back up to select a cutscene-inducing special attack. Still vastly prefer Monster of Monsters on the NES, because like you said, Godzilla is at its best when you're smashing things.
Super Castlevania 4 is my favorite over the NES ones. The music & graphics just wowed me. Super Double Dragon 5 was too slow game speed for me. I love Super Ghouls & Ghosts music is awesome, they made it too hard for me. 2 hit points SUCKS!
A quick look at most of the best (and worst) SNES games by each year of release th-cam.com/video/v3QBzOPx_Ik/w-d-xo.html
You should include Japanese and European games for this kind of videos.

I like hearing these stories. Mine was wanting Tecmo Super Bowl 3 so bad that I got a paper route just to get the game
Me and my older brother did that with comic books, too. Late 90s/early 2000s
Now you need a video featuring every Nintendo 64 game that had "64" in the title.
Last year was the 55th anniversary of the Troll Doll.
I like how that Super Mario All-Stars with Mario World changed the Luigi Sprite in World. Weird how u can't play that anywhere else
Much like the N64 games that ended in 64. Lol. Super content as always, Riggs.
I thought of that, too. Probably a quick future video.
Same will be with Switch
GBA has the "Advance".
And the NES had Nintendo make generic titles: Baseball, Pro-Wrestling, Ice Hockey, Soccer, etc.
How about Mega games on Mega Drive?
I laughed so hard at "Super Solitaire? Nope!" I was zoned out on the list, so it caught me off guard. Hilarious!
Firepower 2000 was called Super Swiv in Pal regions (I'm Australian), cool top-down shooter.
We need an Adventure island remake or collection
"You do not play as little Mac but, you know." That was funny! 😂
This video is SUPER!
Love ya, John!
Idea for a video… play haunting for sega and do a top 10 scares for the game… tons to choose from.
Love your Mario AllStars story... My Mum did the same thing with the Sgt Pepper LP in the 60's!
Blew all her holiday money on the first day...

Riggs! I think the evil algorithm has been unkind to you. Good to see a video, friend!
I'm actually surprised it was such a small percent of the overall library! I feel like EVERYTHING was Super! And in a way most of them were!
That Super Star Wars trilogy were super difficult.
Super Street Fighter II is a legend.
Super Tennis was fun for sure.
4:40 Unfortunately, you are mistaken, there was a Super Battletank 1 on the SNES (and other platforms like the Genesis, though not the NES). I guess you'll have to change the title to (almost) EVERY SUPER GAME :P
I'm not a Tennis fan at all but for whatever reason I love Super Tennis, find it very relaxing.. for the most part.
Awesome list bro!👍
Yesterday was my birthday I'm 55!😁
Happy belated Birthday. 🥳
🎁 🎂
So many great titles on the Super Nintendo😄
I was the dude that reached out about just beating Super Metroid!!!
Was soooo cool. Only took me thirty Flippin years.
Happy New Years everyone!!!
John Riggs, the master of irony! Happy New Year, dude!
Lol Riggs really got creative on this title and topic. Big up and much respect
I am hoping to find tournament Cyberball 20somthin .....which one was it? Itt was s classic bundle of something but cant remember the title...any help. Geetz big kudos n tys

Super Baseball Simulator 1000 is the most fun i ever had with a baseball game. The super powers really made that game great.
I'm probably the biggest fan of the sports genre for Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis I just love how they're super cheap well the ones that are not rare
For real! I always wonder if anyone else goes back and plays the sports games. I played all sports games, even though I’m solely a football fan

My favorite restaurant must have figured out I'm a retro gamer. Every time I go in they ask me if I want Super Salad. I've never played it.
Hey now, Super Tennis is super fun! Hella fun playing with friends
Super Metroid is top 10 for SNES! An absolute masterpiece!
Heck ya Washington states famous John Riggs
haha not sure about that.
There is a Super Battletank 1, it's just that it's technically called "Gary Kitchen's Super Battletank".
Super Battletank - War in the Gulf was on the snes and was the first of the two
Thx Riggs
I too remember super pain at the dentist office.
Christmas of 1992 I got my SNES with SMW and my parents also picked out Super Double Dragon. Because it was 2 players simultaneously, the first game my brother and I played was Super Double Dragon, so I will always have a soft spot for it.

Does Super Solitaire support the SNES mouse?
y'know, good question! I'm not sure.
Thanks! Never mind the bollocks
I love it when the reviewer calls it the super SNES...the super SUPER nintendo system.😂😂 Love your videos mr. Riggs.
I can’t believe that someone spent time to send you and email to inform u that HE finished metroid. I can imagine how many crazy emails u can get, wow 🤣
the Super Star Wars trilogy gets super underrated. Those are fantastic side scrolling action games with amazing Star Wars sound effects.
very hard and frustrating games imo
There were many Super games I liked. But Super Conflict was one of my favorite SNES games.
Super time with John Riggs
11:35 does the knife being in the center of the pillar prevent it from being collected?
Such great memories
Hey John, thanks for all the uploads! Setting up my game room soon, it's merch time!
*Never been a fisherman 😂
I'm not, but am a master at baiting.
Will there be (or did you do it already, maybe I missed it)
But the same idea but a “mega” list for genesis?
Like 80% of the games on N64 had "64" in the title.
Incorrect. 44 out of 296 North American games have 64 in the title (14.9%). Less than 15% is nowhere near 80%.
@JonLeung1 It's called sarcasm, my friend.
@@RickyIcecubes True that, I misread; my apologies.
lol why is the third bases loaded trying to be a 007 game? 😂 love this list videos cus we always learn something and find out about games we never heard off what “sucks” is that it tends to add games to the collection list lol yay more money to spend hehe
I thought that Aquabats was just a The Hub (now Discovery Family) Original Series, lol. No, seriously, I did.
I hope Nintendo calls it the Super Switch
Actually it was "Garry Kitchen's Super Battletank: War in the Gulf"
I presume the sequel dropped the dude's name due to licensing?
Drinking game: Takes a shot of tequila every time he says "and stuff like that" lol
Did you see Jesse Ventura on Chris Van Vliet's show?
@3:19 "Super bases loaded 2 actually is a pretty decent baseball game." Stone me now, but it is comments like this, is why Sega Lord X maintains my viewer subscription.
In Japan the Donkey Kong Country games were Super Donkey Kong

EveryThing is Super on Super NES
Super Smash TV was awesome 😊😊😊

Wasn't there a Super Battletank 1 on the snes? Wanna say it was based on the gulf war
I believe there was
@@davidbermudez7704 sure was! I played the hell out of it.
Super battletank war in the Gulf
It’s weird that Super C (Super Contra) was an NES release and not SNES. Memory wants to make it a SNES release lol
whats the 64 games? has to be more
Ya I am way more interested in an Adventure Island Anthology than Monster Boy.
This was SUPER fun! 😂😂😂 (I’m drowning in cheese here, John! ) I wondered how many “Super” games existed. 💥
Is he Margaret Cho's real life son or just a happy coincidence
Nice video. Great work. 🫡💯 Those good old European Graphics 🤢😫
Did you forget Super Wrestlemania?
I sure did. There's a few I forgot.
Super Metroid❤ amazing game!!!!!
0:47 Is that Shin Chan?
Adventure Island needs an HD remake for sure.
This video was super.
Super bowling was made by Athena, not technos
Thank you for nostalgia 😊😊😊😊
You said “Baja”. All I hear is Will Sasso lol
"there's no building codes in the baja, you can build your house vertical
Hang out with Jesse Ventura hahaha lol. "The Baja."
Hi Riggs 👋😁
Why does everyone always say that Castlevania 4 is not very Castlevania-like? I'll never understand that. Anyway, great video as always, sir!
Bro I have no idea probably because it ain’t NES?
Castlevania 4 is Castlevania-like!!
I think it's the sprite size, combined with whipping in all directions. A fully upgraded whip covers a LOT of space on screen and kind of makes sub weapons not aa useful

You left out “super contra” on nes!
You skipped Super Baseball 2020?
The aquabats 😂🤘🏻🤘🏻
It is a cool, pool party
Super Castlevania IV isn't as Castlevania-y as Bloodlines? You are going to have to explain that one to me.
Another Kung Fu Heroes fan! I don't get why Jeremy Parish doesn't like it.
Super Castlevania 4 is my favorite over the NES ones. The music & graphics just wowed me.
Super Double Dragon 5 was too slow game speed for me.
I love Super Ghouls & Ghosts music is awesome, they made it too hard for me. 2 hit points SUCKS!
There's Also WWF SUPER Wrestlemania! How could you have left that out?! hehe...
Some people never grow up. 😂 bro is like 50+
