- Moritz Huemer, violoncello (class of Prof. Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt, Bachelor of Music)
Naoko Sonoda, piano
Henri Vieuxtemps cultivated a particularly intense relationship with the cello. With the Belgian cellist Adrien-François Servais, he had a close friendship. From this, among other things, the Grand duo on Themes from Meyerbeer's Opera "Les Huguenots" for violin and cello as well as "Les Arpèges", Caprice for violin and orchestra with obligato cello op. 15 emerged. His son Joseph Servais, who was principal cellist at the Musikkapelle of the Grand Duke in Weimar from 1868 to 1870, he devoted two cello concertos. The Cello concerto No. 1 op. 46 was premiered in February 1876.

wonderful!
Bravo!
Shit, he is so good
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I mean if I heard this off the street I’d be impressed, but yeah came to TH-cam to check him out, wasn’t actually expecting “worlds best cellist” but like maybe still really good. Definitely levels to this, completely outclassed by the top pros. I mean give Jonathan Roozeman’s performance a listen, feels like two different pieces. Even if it’s a joke still a bit disappointing when you’re expecting “worlds greatest cellist,” setting yourself up for too high expectations🤣🤣🤣
I agree that Jonathan Roozeman plays better
Definitely not the worlds best cellist :/
It's you trying to be funny right?
But it says so right on his insta
