      @@DSR1YT I don't find the brakes lacking, I ride on the road, not a racetrack. They bed in after a time. It's hard to judge properly when discs and pads are brand new. I rarely use more than 1 finger to brake.

      @disaffectedmale having owned an mt10 I still found those brakes rubbish. Brakes are subjective. Some people like soft brakes others don’t. I know I’m not the only one who found them lacking though. 🤙

    I got my MT10 new in 2016 for £9300 and at that price with the flaws it had it was an absolute steal. I waited for the new one but Yamaha asking upwards of 13k for much the same bike with all the same issues was the reason i had to move on to another brand/bike in the end. Wish they would put the cp4 motor into a tracer style sports tourer with 21ltrs.

    I bought and still own an original 2016 Fluro Grey MT10. Definitely the best bike I've ridden in 42 years of riding motorcycles.
    It helps I'm not a fan of tech on bikes, it's got just enough for not a lot to go wrong.
    I like that it can still scare. Still wheelie off the throttle at stupid speeds. Still take me in comfort across Europe (with many stops for fuel) and still be totally reliable at 31,000 miles.
    Not a fan of the new look with the daft acoustic vents or it's weird new front end look.

SuperDuke 1290R, Streetfighter V4, Tuono, Speed Triple RS and Zh2 are all more powerful, some by a wide margin... Bone stock, this bike is only cranking out somewhere around 136hp at the wheel. Enough with this naked crap Yamaha and make a Tracer 1000. Tracer 900 will never be a substitute for that 1000 CP4. There's enough room in the sport touring category to have a Tracer 900 and a Tracer 1000 sold as thier flagship bike.

    • @DSR1YT
      @DSR1YT  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There will always be a market for naked bikes, and IMO the best Sunday bike for the UK, all the fun and more comfort, usually cheaper depending what brand you get and has less chance of getting you in trouble with the Po-Po.

    • @MrDeepseadweller
      @MrDeepseadweller ปีที่แล้ว

      A Tracer 1000 wouldn’t work because the CP4 is too fuel inefficient to be used in a touring bike. The new M 1000 XR would be a great choice when it comes out next year, but it will probably cost quite a bit more.

      Power is very subjective though isn’t it. Some people wouldnt ride an MT10 on power mode A because it’s ‘too much power’ and they feel they couldn’t handle it. I personally would only bounce between mode A and D if the wet stuff closed in. I like that fact it will catch you out if you aren’t careful when getting on the power, makes for a fun ride :)

    • @AntaresSQ01
      @AntaresSQ01 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DSR1YT I think there is a distinction between engine power and delivery. The XR's 165 bhp is perfectly managed by the riding modes. In rain you won't get full power in 1st and 2nd, and in 3rd TC will be hiding around the corner in case things to tits up, but if you're cruising on the motorway at 70 in 6th gear, rain does little to no limitation to the power and will allow you to make swift overtakes. Yet if you wanna wheelie over every slight crest you find in the road in 3rd gear, Dynamic Pro has your back. Power is the same, although I think rain does indeed cap out ~120-130 bhp, delivery is different.
