I believe what will happen is Jones will indeed Die but OG Chapter 2 will somehow be heavily involved With timetravel just like the first one and Hope will find a Younger version of Jones on the chapter 2 island to help her and I believe in someway the Seven and the IO will come back
Could be like what they did with Loki in the MCU. We snatch the younger IO-allied Jones, tell him everything that happens to him, and chapter 6 and onward we carry on with this "new" Jones as our primary snapshot.
Or even maybe whatever hope tells joun baout his future he might not do what he did and instead does few missions with foundation and become one of them and against to IO

The chapter 5 map is the chapter 2 map, just on a different time line. For season OG we went back in time to chapter 1, but this time the end event played out differently and sent us to the chapter 5 map which is the same as the chapter 2 map, just a different version. Chapter 5 mimics chapter 2 Season 1 had Society vs underground which is similar to the conflict in season 1 of chapter 2 with ego and I forgot the other name lol. Season 2 had midas return, and myths vs mortals. Similar to ghost vs shadow (along with midas being in the season) Season 3 had the sand wall flooding the map in sand. Similar to season 3 had the water wall flooding the map in water Season 4 had DOOM, similar to season 4 which had DOOM! (and iron man lol) My guess is that we somehow end up back on the original chapter 2 timeline, rather than the altered one that we are on now.

I actually think your exactly right. I've been scratching my head, trying to figure out how this season will travel us back in time to Chapter 2. And I think you just predicted it. The only source of magical power on this island is Pandora's box. So that the only item that could logically bring us back in time. Hope is probably going to defeat Doom, but at the cost of Jones's life. She'll be so desperate to have Jones back that she'll use the last little bits of power left in Pandora's Box to get Jones back. Her desire will unintentionally send her and us back in time all the way to chapter 2. That's how I see it going at least.
i honestly hope they dont kill jones off. hes such an important character to the story, while hope only appeared this chapter. the oracle basically says she has to stop doom from pandoras box, but what about after that? she wont be important anymore. jones has been the front of fortnite since day 1, while hope is the main character of one chapter. it would be a bad move to do that on fortnites behalf.
My personal hope for Jones story is for him to finally receive closure. Either through: A: During the Chapter 2 OG event, which will presumably be the device, he stumbles upon his old self, a slave to the imagined order. He is proud of himself for how long he has come, and finally settles down. B: Perhaps even combining with A, he stumbles upon either the zero point in the past, or Kado's time machine. He uses it to return to his family, and he is finally at peace. I personally think this is the perfect point in his story to give him closure. he is the exact opposite of what he was back then. (I wouldn't even be surprised if he is worthy of wielding Mjölnir) Chapter 2 OG would also be the perfect opportunity to end his story, since it is gonna cover Seasons 1-3, where his story first began. My Hope (get it?) for chapter 6 is to either follow Hope in her own storyline or a new set of characters entirely, or a mixture of the two. Though my dearest wish for Chapter 6, which is very unlikely, is for it to cover the return of the seven and act as a final sendoff to the current storyline, considering we got "trilogies" of chapters: Chapters 1-3: The Imagined Order and The Seven Trilogy Chapters 4-6: The Independent Heroes Trilogy

since the device got leaked to be the remixed live event, my personal theory has been that jones WILL die in a way where he can’t be saved, but we’ll get to chapter 2 (via currently unknown means) to try and find him once again i dont really have any basis or evidence for this theory i just feel like it’d be cool and also bittersweet to meet jones for the first time again after all that’s happened

Hope and Jones went to test the rift equipment that Shuri made in the robot of doom but these rifts were sabotaged by Mysterio and Emma Frost. They won the battle against the robot but did not reach Dr. Doom for real. It is the reason for the prophecy

I’m not so sure about hope defeating Doom herself , I would go for the theory that the Pandora powers inside doom will eventually betray him in some way cause it’s not his power and of it being too powerful, even for Doom. Even with the so called “Fire” in Hope, this Doom killed Galactus , Mega Lodon, Thanos, Ultron and the whole fantastic 4. And that without the Pandora powers ! There has to be something big behind his defeat, bigger than just Hope herself . It would be too easy if they just let Hope win cause of some kind of … rage ?

He need to have much more story in this game.
