Yeah. I hope that this was just a phase of extreme testing and that they go back to pre-chapter 5 style. It’s fine to experiment but changing so many things at once is going to alienate people who aren’t new to the game
I feel s2 is a bit of a stretch, we really didn't get many melee weapons aside from chains of Hades. In fact that was the only new melee weapon we got that season. I feel like a better point for s2 would be something like, see if colabs could carry a season or, see how long a seasons theme could carry it without many updates. Also s4 flying combat is also a stretch.

You'd think that but the meta verse will only continue the same trend that Chapter 5 did. For context, I usually put in about $90 and that used to last me a couple seasons at maximum. This season alone, I spend $270 because of all the various Collabs. Thanks meta verse. Disney also already has put up extra restrictions on their cosmetics so you can use Mickey in BR for example. Or hell even Lightning McQueen in BR. If I'm gonna purchase cosmetics, they better be available in the majority of the maps and modes I might wanna play. While I take a certain amount of financial responsibility and self control into account, I also wanna point out the virtual shoes being a cosmetic. They've added Instruments and Legos into bundles now. Now they wanna make us buy virtual shoes. Like wtf is Epic thinking????

If Fortnite had gone mainstream as a metaverse/roblox style game, then nobody would complain. But the fact the game that blew up was the battle Royale, that’s what people know it as, means they will never accept it as a metaverse game. Roblox got popular as an all-in-one game, and that’s what people know it as, it’s basically a playground for anything to exist in it, and that’s WHY people love it. So if Roblox decides to change their game by taking modes away, people will not like and move on to a different game, the same like what’s happening Fortnite but in the opposite direction
technically speaking, fortnite battle royale could be considered a metaverse since it was an offshoot of save the world. Fortnite is a great battle royale but eventually, that genre will phase out and Fortnite is adding something more for them to last longer as a game.
@@antirevisionistI actually agree with you too. At one point Minecraft was smut known as an open-world survival game, but not it has so many different ways to play the game. There are smps, maps made by the community (and Mojang themselves), etc. That’s kind of what I feel like Fortnite is going for because they want as much players as possible, and they know have a lot more variety is the best way to do that. The only thing that they’ve got to get better at is being able to balance both Battle Royale and their other modes.
Graphics aren't cartoony, movement is...clunky, no hitscan x bullet drop projectile, meaningless skins and collab skin are exhausting, marvel x disney fatigue, metaverse fail, entire car royale season, jet pack teleport x gauntlets metas, .,..this entire chapter is L. CH2 remix and ch6 better bring it Warzone and fortnite copy a lot from each other, recently announced map rotation and resurgence/reload maps which warzone has for 4 years now in rotation too as low as 3 maps. COD saw the success of OG season November 2023, thus Verdansk, the OG warzone map comes after years for its 5th anniversary this march 10 2025. And another big map too, Avalon, maybe map rotation for big BR maps?
Yh same for me, og season was a blast, the movement doesn’t do it for me, instead of improving on it they made it clunkier. Made worse ui got rid of rarities for skins. Ch5 was asscheeks from my first impressions and the movement was the decider to quit, haven’t touched the game since then
Venom isn’t even rated R? He has been and spiderman and his own movies and there is little to no blood in those movies expect for the last dance, but otherwise it doesn’t make sense also WHERE IS THE GLIDER AND CONTRAIL FOR IT
The map kinda lacked any character. Even with the chapter 2 map which was a rollercoaster, at least there were memorable locations. No one’s gonna say “I want grim gate back”

I do think bullet drop is a good idea as it stops turning every gun into a sniper and adds more skill into long ranged combat but it could be less heavy
To sum it up, it’s just too corporate now. Realism (constantly improving graphics, realistic graphics instead of cartoony, bullet drop, new realistic movement, weapon attachments, first person aim-down-sights), the most new collabs of all time, the metaverse being forced on the players, UI changes that are meant to help out Disney in the locker and shop, and just clearly inflating the price of skins despite them claiming no rarities does not mean their prices will increase.
I agree with you, except the collab part. Pirates of the Caribbean is kind of old and is not that well known by younger kids. Avatar in my country is only known by a couple of nerds (I use the term in a non offensive connotation). Ninja Turtle is kind of mixed. Some know it some don't. Disney stuff is hated by kids that try to act as grown ups (most of them). The only exception is Mrs Incredible but... That's for another reason. Edward Scissor Hands, Texas Chainsaw Massacre are old movies and franchises that don't sell that much today (besides edgy acting people or people like me that are a bit older). The only "relevant" collabs they brought this Chapter were Venom (cause of the new movie), Lethal League (for memes) and maybe some that I don't remember.

Ive been pretty much consistently playing since the beginning of the game and this chapter was the first time i took a 3 season long break. I don't really have a lot of expectations for the game anymore, i just hope it doesn't get drastically worse.
I'm honestly done with Ch. 5's Meta. 1. Get the OP Medallion 2. Get the Collab Mythic that Defined the Season. (TMNT, WATERBENDING, MAGNETO, IRON MAN/SHIELD). 3. Touch Water for Teleport, not Grass. 4. Modify your Bullet-Drop Gun in a random Vault (even if it's in the Storm) or else... you lose. Reload just feels more rewarding and worth my time. Fetching Medallions and dealing with Crossover Gimmicks has been the definition of this Chapter.

I HATE the weapon mods, it feels like you need them to even use the gun. And I believe it stops them from making creative choices when it comes to guns. Chapter 4 has some great examples, like the twin mag guns and the twin mag ar’s scope. With the mods they can’t do anything creative like that. I hope they leave in Chapter 6.
This, I really hate when someone lands next to me, and I can't even trust the first gun that I can get cause it might be thermal scope SMG with the worst hip fire accuracy ever.
HARD disagree. Weapon mods were what pulled me back into the game after barely playing Chapter 4. I lowkey disagree with this whole video, in fact. Chapter 5 was one of my favorite chapters BECAUSE it felt like a breath of fresh air to me. Something different rather than more of the same.

I think this chapter played too risky with adding too many changes at once. This game is doing the opposite of whatever made fortnite good. Imo, the best season we got was the first once after a few tweaks (medallion nerf + slight movement change)

I was having some really hard times during chapter 5 season 3 which I know is not the games fault but was what I had to go through at the time. Because my dog past away well he wasn’t really our dog he was originally my uncles so he lend him to us to take care of. But back when the season started at the time me and my family have been taking turns watching over him cause he was panting so hard and hasn’t been eating enough of his food much. So my mother brought him to the vet to see what was wrong with him and she said that his spleen was giving him a lot of pain which explained why he was barely eating. Which she also added that they can remove it if he had enough blood in him to make the surgery happen. Which was a success which I thought would solve everything but he only lasted a couple of months later before we decided to let him go which before we made that decision we’ve been giving him some walks for him to live his last moments with us but there was one problem he was also suffering from. What was worse about his condition was that he had a random tumor on his back end which was looking really infected when ever he had to do his business which I don’t want to describe the details. But then on I came up with an idea that me and my family should take a family picture with him to memorize him by. And we even celebrated his 15th birthday early before we had to say our final goodbyes on that same day. It’s been really hard for me but mostly for my sister since she loved and adored him with her life when ever she’s in her room with him while working on her upcoming college exams. But he’s gone now and I’m really going to miss him for helping us on getting through these tough times we’ve had these past years with him
I feel that cuz I had to put my dog down literally the other day because he was having seizures despite his medicine and he also had hip displasia and after that seizure episode, he couldn't use his back legs anymore. My condolences for your loss although a bit late.
This Chapter was not bad for me. It had some interesting ideas, of course some worse than others. Seasons 1 and 4 are solid, with decent loot pools and fun gameplay. Season 4 did have a problem with the jetpack. They were basically necessary in each game if you wanted to place high. It did not help when Epic made it harder to find the jetpack; it just made it worse. Season 2 was very boring to me mainly because of the very similar "New" weapons like the Harbringer SMG and Warforged AR. Besides the weapons, the new POIs were great, the return of Midas was fun, and the Avatar collab was dope. Season 3 to me was pretty fun with the new weapons like the Tow Hook, Boom Bolt, Tri-Beam, and the return of the Combat AR and Shotgun. The only problem with Season 3 was the issue with the cars and Nitro Fists. Epic could not balance these things for some reason, they could have made the fists more like the katana and reworked the car weapon attachments. Overall this chapter to me is a 7.5/10
I agree with this, chapter 5 wasn't bad even though i think that chapter 5 is like top 3 in my personal ranking but i feel like bullet drop was a bad idea, also i though the metaverse was going to ruin br so i hated it but now i can see that this is not the case and br is doing well and even as a great storyline so good for me. Overall 8-8.5/10 chapter.

This was the first chapter where i, like a lot of other players it seems, took a step back from the game entirely, chapter 5 just made me feel like a guinea pig with the short 4 seasons we got being a testing ground for epic. I hardly played at all after chapter 5 season 1. The loot pool sucks and so over the top, when chapter 2 remix was released, i was hooked again! I started playing fortnite in chapter 2 season 1 and just being on the map again made me so happy. The loot pool was amazing and simple, and having the graphics toned down was great too. I really wish EPIC would focus more on what made them great instead of having to rely on nostalgia to keep them afloat

I've been playing since 2017, and this is just my opinion, but honestly, Chapter 1 and Chapter 3 were honestly the two chapters so far that were for the most CONSISTENTLY fun. Chapter 2 and Chapter 4 had some amazing seasons too like Ch2 S2, Ch2 S4, Ch2 S7, Ch4 S1, Ch4 S4, but overall I found myself having the most fun throughout Chapter 1 and Chapter 3.
I legitimately think that the bigger and smaller Fortnite creators should come together and create a petition or hashtag movement to bring back rarities, because it is legitimately a scummy move to do that, and then blatantly increase cosmetic prices even thought they promised they wouldn’t. Because without the creator’s support Fortnite would suffer greatly, because their biggest free marketing tool is the creators. They have literally never had to pay for a tv commercial or anything except for TH-cam and twitter ads, and became the biggest game of all time, all because of the tons of viral moments created by Fortnite content creators. So you have to hit them where it hurts to get the things we want.
Rarities wouldn't make a difference. That's what they used to justify the higher prices they chose in the first place and it stopped having much meaning long ago.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but weren’t legendary skins always 2000 vbucks or 20 dollars, and every collabs skin would likely just end up being legendary so they can charge that. My biggest issue with it is the lack of 800 vbucks skins now and the even more difficult and annoying locker room navigation with no rarities to help you find and remember where stuff is
this was rhe chapter i quit. i miss fortnite prior to chapter 4, less collabs and if there were collabs they would be normal and spaced out and felt special. also a storyline, originality, fun gameplay, ugh i miss it so much.

The jetpack wasn't removed because it was so bad, it was removed because it was suffocating the Fortnitemares gameplay I won't lie, I'm pretty sure whatever modes survive this shakeout of the first two years will develop fans just like Save the World did, just like Battle Royale did, and just like Creative did.
I think Festival survives just because we don’t really have anything else like it, the songs are ridiculously priced but in most cases you can still play them even if you don’t own them. Lego has a fanbase but it’s gonna need to be built up over a really long time as it’s still barebones, and I’m not sure anyone plays rocket racing unfortunately
@@RaccoonThigh "I think Festival survives" I hope so. I started playing near the end of Chapter 4, Season 2 for my friend. After he took another break from the game post OG season. I pivoted to playing Festival only. Epic's decision to make the pass more accessible by changing it from the Festival Pass to the Music Pass, incorporating it into the rest of the game, and changing the progression from Festival points to XP, gives me the impression that they do not have faith in the mode. The revenue from the Festival Pass must not have been high enough to justify the costs of licensing the music and paying the featured artists.
@@RaccoonThighFestival is fine because of the Guitar Hero and Band Hero players can get another online platform where they can nab each other over getting the highest scores. LEGO Fortnite has had consistent updates and the game is a lot better because of it along with the player feedback. Rocket Racing may have lost some reoccurring content updates, but that doesn't mean Epic is gonna pull the plug on that mode, as there are still players hanging around that mode. When you think about it, the metaverse is a great escape along with Creative and Save The World if players need a break from Battle Royale.
Tim Sweeny needs to be replaced. His decisions are ruining fortnite in his desire to create something that has already failed time and time again (the metaverse). There have been so many attempts at metaverses and all of them failed except for Roblox and VRChat which are still successful

The vast majority of Fortnite players isn't as chronically online as we are, and they're probably having a fun time regardless. Many of my friends, even my dad, loved this chapter. They're much less skeptical/critical than we are.
1:06 gonna have to disagree, 2020 fortnitemares was the best, had shadow midas and when you died you came back as a ghost to kill the last players, youd rack up 40 kill wins and feel like your the last person on earth in a epic brutal zombie movie
Okay but it’s good that they cater to new players. There are more new players than old and that number will continue to grow. Although newer players honestly have it worse, because this chapter was epic not giving their best. We’ve seen their best and know what they can give us.
While technically occuring just before Chapter 5, what bothered me the most in the leadup to it was the sudden removal of our Legacy Achievement Awards. I used to grind every season to get as many as I could, and I loved looking at that timeline as a mini calendar of my history with the game. Oh! That was the first day and time I landed on c2s7. And that was the day I got my 10th solo win that seasons! Etc. I even completed the fish collection book each season. And if you played during those seasons it existed you remember how hard it was to find the elusive White Slurp Fish. While not technically cosmetics, those awards felt like they were cosmetics to me, and removing them hit me as hard as if Fortnite removed a bunch of sprays I had spent hours upon hours grinding for :(

I remmeber buying terrible 2000 v buck skins that came with hardly a backbling in earlier seasons. One of the problems I also have with projectile is that they restrict old guns from coming back because they were hitscan. If they do come back, they’re a totally different gun with bullet drop
I respect your opinion but tbh chapter 5 been a blast I brought my friend out of retirement, and the seasons been great and fun. I even made new friends on the game. (Compare to chapter 3 and 4 don’t get me wrong those was great, but most of my friends quit the game during that time)
I just started playing during this halloween event and I've been having a pretty great time. I like the movement and weapon selection, even if other people definitely know how to use them way better than me lol.

The metaverse definitely changed the way br was handled. Ch 5 season 1 had a good start, S2 kind of lacked content and still decided to remove mythics for the avatar ones.? S3 changed the way br was played with OP cars, fists and nitro, this would’ve been successful if these changes were an LTM as it perfectly fit that criteria and having a balanced version be the normal br mode. Not sure why they decided to nerf everything when it wasn’t even in competitive anyway. S4 feels like they got scared to add all the marvel mythics even though being a marvel season that’s precisely what people expect. The old ones from 2020 were surprisingly balanced and fun to use yet they haven’t been seen nor have we seen marvel knockout return. Instead we got a downgrade of the endgame mode with less mythics. And for some reason they don’t take advantage of the fact it’s an LTM, because due to lack of marvel mythics we were given mythic guns which made it seem more like team rumble. not to mention locker changes, movement and item shop changes that have been controversial. Epic really gave the community a reason to yap about the downgrade it lowkey has had this year

I think this chapter had its ups and downs. A lot of the downs are in this video, so here are some of my favorite ups: - Medallions - Weapon Modding (I think there should be more mod benches around the map) - Midas Presents floor is lava - All the mini live events - An actual storyline with Pandoras Box - Day of Doom LTM -Nitro
I think it's very telling that I can't find anyone who can agree about the state of Chapter 5 and whether or not it was really bad. I wouldn't say opinions are split across the middle but takes are so clearly polarized against each other that it's hard to get a read on what the true majority of players actually want. Part of me thinks that Fortnite has simply become so large with so many different feeling modes, that now it's hard if not impossible to please both old and new fans of the game. I hope those chapter long surveys Epic has been sending out tell them enough to create a better Chapter 6 that more people can enjoy

Lately Disney buys everything now, and they decide to put their own rules in it, which is squeezing as much money as they can as possible. I see Disney squeezing as much as they can to Fortnite until people don’t care anymore.
Trust me know one’s gonna hate you for your opinion. This chapter was MID to ASS. So many things wrong bullet drop, ass graphics, clunky movment, too realistic graphics, attachments, focused more on metaverse and ufen than battle royal, prices, season 3!!!!!, BORING seasons, cosmetic rarity being removed, everything stuck in the bundle which I didn’t care about because I was getting the full bundle but when I got Eddie Brock I wanted to buy the she venom pickaxes but of course stupid and money hungry fortnite doesn’t let me do it. Theirs more I don’t like about this chapter but I forgot what they are. Also did I say this season was boring… oh yeah I did but I’ll say it one more time this chapter was overall BORING mainly with the updates getting boring fast and wasting so much potential. Ps I see the hate comments you’ve been saying and you are wrong but that’s your opinion. I never said everything was bad there were some good things but they didn’t last long. The statistics proves my point that this was the worst chapter. I also respect them for trying something new but everything got old within a week. I didn’t think this was a horrible chapter but this is definitely the worst one compared to every other chapter.
brought back live events, content updates weekly, good collaborations, chapter wasn't afraid to try stuff new, chapter 5 isn't bad at all, if you played during chapter 4 you would know everyone was sick of that chapter more than this one, even chapter 2 players quit and etc
Play fortnite save the world and you realize that the original graphics have not stood the test of time. The more streamlined graphics aren't bad at all.

I agree on your “hot take” I’ve been saying that literally since the beginning of the chapter, it’s called fortnite “battle royale” for a reason not fortnite “battle royale and other game modes”. I don’t mind them keeping creative but I don’t like the way the lobby looks like Netflix or Roblox with a bunch of copy and paste games to look through. It looks messy and just terrible. I really don’t know how they could fix the creative thing other than to revert it back to the original mode were you would load into creative and put a code to play the map you want to play, or have featured games. Back to the other game modes, the instruments, legos, and cars ALSO make the shop look UGLY. They should have implemented shops into each of their own game modes.
Fr, and make the lootpools BALANCED They should have the cars from Chapter 2, 3, & 4, and if they add new guns then only make the mythics and exotics (if they add any) broken
They gave us fortnite classic and everyone loved it, then they went and did the opposite thing with ch5 season 1 right after. Idk what they were thinking. We want a more classic feel

I feel like I don't have the best frame of mind to compare and contrast since I actually got into Fortnite *This chapter*. Specifically at the start of the Marvel Crossover and more specifically it was solely because I'm a big Gwenpool fan and was excited to finally play her in a video game. Now I've 100% the battle pass, all of the quests, dipped my toes in Lego, Festival and Racing and even got decently far in Ranked. I can't really speak for the quality in comparison to whatever came before this since... I'm new but I've just been vibing and loving this Season.
Welcome to Fortnite! I started playing in C4 S4, I think I preferred the C4 map a lot more but I definitely had some fun overall with C5. My favourite season so far is C5 S3, though I don't agree with this guy's reasoning and I loved it the most when it was at it's most balanced (after the car nerfs but before the magneto gloves). That made the cars feel really fun since they weren't too OP. I'd say S2 and S1 are fairly tied in terms of quality. This current season has been my least favourite tbh but I'm still enjoying it and there's plenty of fun to be had. Festival's an awesome mode too. Can't wait to see what C6 has in store.

This has always been a really funny quandary to me. You know what I mean. Like when people start complain about wanting their games to get better, and when changes are made, they just bitch about wanting everything to be the same at it was. That makes no sense! Geez! You basically sound like the "cranky old man" that just sits around telling everyone that ... "Things were better back when I was playing the "REAL" game!". And we all know that sort of statement is total bull. Hell, I'm 59 years old. (OG-OldManGamer in most games I play now), and started plying Fortnite with my kids a just a couple of days into Chapter 2, Season 3. And when I first started playing, I thought that all of the controls were funky, and that the keyboard responses were way to sluggish. And characters couldn't slide, climb walls, pile drive through another player and knock them over (or at least mess up their shot). You also couldn't use - what I would think of as "Natural Skills", like punching and kicking! Not to kill another player with, but at least give you an extra few seconds to make an escape. But that said ... I am lucky I guess. I slowly got used to it all, and then during Chapter 5, they started adding ways to tweek how quickly your keyboard will react, and my oldest son showed me how to adjust the controls to how I like to play. After that, I haven't complained about how the controls work until trying ROCKET RACING. And Wooh! I had to make a serious mental shift in order to accomidate for the game physics! For example - Skid around corners makes you go faster?! Lava floating in mid-air, or being a wall?! Driiving upside down inverts your steering on the fly?! Slamming into the ground at 700 km per hour (or what I call 434.96 mph) does nothing to your car?! Running into other drivers, without the cost of being damaged and having to finish the race by having to go slower?! But hey. I kept playing it, and after a while I started to get the hang of it. Practice, practice, practice right?! Here's the other thing - I know that a lot of people are complaining about a little "realism" being added into the game. And the same people also complain about they want it to be more cartoony with how the characters look. But if that's one of your complaints - build an Ol School PC and load it up with Windows 95, or XP, and play the older games that run and look that way! There are HUNDREDS of them! with how much we have to pay for decent computer to play games on now-a-days, I want my graphics to be beautiful to look at, and make the world feel like another world! Not as choppy old cartoon!! I want my games to advance with it's looks, sounds, movement, story telling, and game play! And I want them to be fun! And I am sorry to tell people - In order to do that, the game creators have to make changes every once in a while, and find out what works and what doesn't. And that's A-OK by me. At least I know that they are trying - and at least EPIC Games listens to the players!! I've been wating since the days of freaking PONG (1972 to you kids out there) to play video games that not only had a decent story to them, but also games that had great graphics, music, and the abitity to interact with other players! So to me, all of this stuff is great!!! So my suggestion is, Play the game. If they make changes you like, or changes you don't like, tell EPIC. Whining to other players that fell like you do, doesn't help. It just creates hate talk. And hate talk just creates more hate talk. And we have enough of that in the real world. All that being said, I do get what you are saying. But it's just like everything, it's a personal perseption. And we are all going to feel about the changes differently. And sometimes when something you like gets changed, deep down inside we kind of take it personally. So try shaking it all off, and look forward to the Chapter. And cross your fingers that you like that one more. And like I said earlier. If they are doing things you don't like, and you want an older look and feel to your games. Build that Ol School PC. It's pretty darn cheap to do, and there were some really cool games that my friends played together! Way back in the late 1990's and early 2000's. Back when we would bring our PC setups to each others homes, and set up a private network and play games for hours and hours!!!! We hyad a blast! And you can still do that over the current internet too. It just takes someone in your friends group to have a PC as a personal server everyone could cennect with.
With season 4, the biggest problem for me with the mashup skins is that they chose the most reused characters out there when they have a thousand characters to choose from. Jonesy was literally on the first battle pass of this chapter, so he didn't need to be included again. Peely had gotten a new skin in Myths and Mortals as well as a new LEGO pass skin this season and didn't need to be included. I know Peelverine was hinted at before in chapter 2, but he should have been an item shop character. Meowscles didn't need a mashup skin, especially since he's getting a new skin next season and has skins in the store. Oscar would have been a better mashup since he is an actual tiger, which fits Sabertooth better, and he's a villain. Oscar also doesn't have a shop skin, which would have been great for people who didn't play Season 1. I would like to see more previous battle pass characters get new skins for the shop. It's cool having a second Calamity skin in a pack that looks equally as cool as the exclusive one. There's a ton of characters like Catalyst, Sidewinder, and Dire that haven't returned yet.
The sheer performance issues were what killed it for me. I have a Ryzen 3700x and a 1080ti which is old, but not so old to where I shouldn't be able to play Fortnite with much reduced graphics settings and still drop below 60fps consistently.

@@Johndavis0097 issue with all of chapter 5 is they keep adding fundamentally broken items. With something like the war machine arsenal, because of how it works, there's no way to balance it so it's fair and fun. It's either op or so weak it's frustrating. Season 4 has more of these, and they're much more variable amongst players in a game (eg, everybody had nitro fists, but there's more spread of iron man gear, arsenal, etc), whereas season 3 had an objectively more fun meta, even post nerfs
The worst thing about Chapter 5 is that it was a sad little heap of crap designed to cater to seemingly the entire known universe and apparently ended up appealing to no-one. The OG season was a population grab, 30M players iirc, all for it to get put down like a puppy with a lame knockoff version of the Season X event and be like, "hey, we're glad you liked this. get ready to throw it all away for this awesome new Roblox knock off!!!! we're so sure you'll love it that that is all the event will be about." ... And nobody ended up liking it, so they added Rewind as a last resort as to not kill the game entirely, with an island that is supposed to be OG but spiced up (shit on would be a better term) to make them feel good about themselves and think that they're being so slick when in reality it is the closest thing to a proper Fortnite experience since the OG season and they know it. Of course, Tim doesn't care and will run the franchise into the ground to get as much money out of it as possible.

as an exclusive no builds player: season 2 of the chapter was the only season where i enjoyed this chapter, season 3 was okay, season 1 was okay but due to personal problems was not enjoyable and season 4 was the biggest bs i have ever seen, the shield was ptsd from the riot shield, the auto turret was the biggest non skill equip ive ever seen and 2 jetpacks were yeah just escape bcause i am loosing the fight. the love and care for the metaverse is fading away in my perspective and the chapter 2 remix was not my thing, the only thing i really liked was the reload thing.
It depended what kind of player and person you were. I loved the non-stop action, but when they started narfing everything, it made magneto gloves and nitro fists unbearable. The unbridled chaos was the only thing that really justified their OPness. And after the nerfs, they were always a 80% loss rate.
I loved chapter five. This was around winter break so me and my sisters were playing it alot We made lots of good memories It was the only battle pass i had ever gotten All we did winter break was eat corndogs and play Fortnite Looking back, chapter 5 was the most nostalgic for me.
I think Chapter 5 is a 7.5-8/10 Chapter, hear me out, Chapter 5 Season 1: was one of Fortnites Best Seasons in the Top 10 best Seasons, it was very good, Strong Weapons, Great Graphics, Solid Mobility, and Great Weapons. The Map was pretty good, a little plain but not bad. Medalions were 10/10 and a lot better, Mythics were 10/10 Amazing, thus Season was great, Weapon Attachments were Amazing, But, Bullet-Drop instead of Hitscan was pretty Mid, now it's not bad, but still Hitscan is just better. Chapter 5 Season 2: New Great Poi's, Mythics were amazing, Weapons were Amazing, Medalions were the best, Nerfed Snipers and Shotguns, Avatar Mythics, Kinda a Mid-Good Season. Chapter 5 Season 3: Cars were Op, At first this Season was really good, after it was pretty Mid, The Metalica and pirates of Caribbean update was Good, but this season was overall pretty good, Medalions were not bad, and mythics were good. Mid season. Chapter 5 Season 4: At first this was one of Fortnites best Marvel themed seasons, now it's not bad but gets boring after awhile. Mythics were good, Medalions were not bad, only 1 was really good being Emma Frosts Reveal Medalion, and the only real good mythics were Sovereign Shotgun and Doombots monarch Pistol, and war machines with iron man boots. Pretty good Season. Overall Opinion best to worst: #1. Chapter 5 Season 1, #2. Chapter 5 Season 4, #3. Chapter 5 Season 2, #4. Chapter 5 Season 3.
The best way I can see the metaverse is a quote from Shigeru Miyamoto: “A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad", maybe people would’ve enjoyed it more if they’d not rushed out the modes

If you were creative this was an awesome chapter. If you were limited you struggled. Be it battles in underground bunkers, wars atop statues, mythics, medallions cars it really pushed the narrative of how much into carnage are you? They those invested in they systems calling themselves skilled will disagree because they had only trained for the positive and not for the negative aspects of their game. Once exposed they protested until they got a safe space to hide in reload and there they stayed until og season came where they had 3 month of sorry gun places to work on drops and map familiarity.
Now that Remix is out. I am not saying that it is bad but it is not the real thing. The lore basically doesn't exist anymore. I hate the new movement, the UI, the locker, and the terrible shop layout. It is honestly one big ad and freakin ice spice is in there for some mf reason. Fortnite used to be way calmer and it wasn't this chaotic. It is losing it's personality. It is like that one insecure kid who was already appreciated by his friends but is trying to be someone else in a weird way. The battle passes were actually fun to grind and get all the extra styles back then but now they decrease the xp you get and are forcing you to level up 50 more levels. I had so many memories cranking up the graphics, playing some music and just chilling doing quests.

Eh, i disagree. Chapter 5 was a great chapter for experimentation but I would go back to Chapter 4 in a heartbeat. New movement, weird shift to a realistic game style, BULLET DROP FOR ALL WEAPONS >:(, and them not even trying to make new weapon mods after season 2. Overall this chapter was a huge sandbox of "lets throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks", the problem is almost nothing stuck lol. I didnt hate C5, definitely had fun moments, but its my least favorite by a landslide.
I thought I hated chapter 4 more but looking back I had a ton of fun during season 2 and 3 that I never got in chapter 5 because everyone quit after season 1. Overall while chapter four had a awful map and story it's still overall better because it felt like Fortnite. Chapter 5 just didn't feel right, my friend who quit said he quit because he started to realize how corporate it became after og.
I am PRAYING that epic games is beginning to pick it up with the BR storyline and general quality of the game as we’ve seen with the recent Fortnitemares update. All we can do is wait and see how CH6 will be like.
I had a blast I don't know what your guys are talking about. I guess some players just can't let go of the past and want to live in the past but to be honest if Fortnite didn't update every season the game would have died a long time ago.
While it did have highlights, the lowlights outweigh them by such a large margin that it can only get better from here. There’s no way that chapter 6 will do worse than this.
Honestly, I don't get the hate for Chapter 5. Personally I really like it. Not a single bad season. Hell, C5S1 removed the burn out that Chapter 4 gave me, and C5S3 was what made me play as much as I did in Chapter 2. Did they fumble a lot of things? Yes. Honestly, as much as I love Chapter 5 (It's my third favorite chapter, I haven't played Chapter 1, but my ranking for Chapters is C2, C3, C5, C4) I have to admit, it has a lot of issues. Rarity removal, UI change, ETC. But, despite those seasons, I've had a lot of fun in C5.
LITERALLY! I was so burned out of this game throughout all of chapter 4 so when this chapter came out I actually had fun with this game for the first time since like c3 s1 (excluding OG). I hope one day the community can see how good this chapter really is.

The reason chapter 5 failed is that it didn’t. Thats literally it. This chapter was really really fun and was way better than the 2 worst chapters (aka chapter 2 and chapter 3). This chapter really was a testing ground to see how epic can improve the game by learning form og and trying out new things and those new things where really really fun! Every season this chapter has had tons of quality updates that added a good amount in each one. Also chapter 5 season 1 was in the top 5 best seasons of all time and I’ve been playing since chapter 1 and the new movement is literally the exact same feeling, at the beginning when it was slower it took like 1 game to get used to lol.
The problem is that it did. This chapter being a testing ground was not a good thing, most people consider 3/4 or 2/4 of this chapter mid or bad. I can't blame them. S1, extremely different for no reason. S2, lack of updates. S3, op weapons. S4, again op weapons. Saying this chapter is a testing ground isn't as smart of a point as you think it is.
As a Greek mythology fan first and degree student later, I really want to support chapter 5 season 2 every time the topic comes up, as I really liked the map and the style of the pois. But instead, us players and the theme itself were done dirty with so many dumb decisions. The skins were mediocre for the most part and the fact that they took the gods items out for the dumb anime crap for a month. Even though they weren't caused by the season itself, so many other controversies happend during that time, like the age restriction bullshit and the removal of cosmetic rarities, so it will always remain as one of the worst periods of this game sadly. The whole forced metaverse approach had already killed my hype anyway, I even skipped a season and a pass entirely for the first time with chapter 5 season 3.
If You sit yourself in a room with a newer player, viewer, generation, etc… and talk about how great things used to be they aren’t gonna care at all whether they were alive at that time or not. Our minds view almost ever aspect of the past as a simpler or better time and all it’s gonna do for you and make you depressed. You need to overlook those factors to really get an understanding of what is really important, and determining what is better helps nothing. And in that aspect I disagree with almost every thing discussed in this video.
Ch5 season 1 was one of my favs. But every other chapter was disappointment other than a few pickaxes and gliders lol, i do like some new guns for creative but still no mythic powers for creative so
Honestly the ONLY good thing they did in my opinion is the moving while healing. Maybe it’s because I am an apex player as well but the moving while healing is great.

-See if players are fine with going off the seasons theme midway through the season

-Seeing if the community likes non gun oriented combat
-Seeing if it’s better to make the game more fun than sweaty

-Seeing if we like flying based combat
-Seeing if we would like season remakes in the future

I mainly think hitscan should come back, but Snipers should keep bullet drop because it just fits Snipers more, and they feel better hitting shots
I feel s2 is a bit of a stretch, we really didn't get many melee weapons aside from chains of Hades.
In fact that was the only new melee weapon we got that season.
I feel like a better point for s2 would be something like, see if colabs could carry a season or, see how long a seasons theme could carry it without many updates.
Also s4 flying combat is also a stretch.

The horrible new locker with its 5000 separated presets ruined it for me compared to the convenient one press and every thing is loaded and ready.

You'd think that but the meta verse will only continue the same trend that Chapter 5 did. For context, I usually put in about $90 and that used to last me a couple seasons at maximum. This season alone, I spend $270 because of all the various Collabs. Thanks meta verse. Disney also already has put up extra restrictions on their cosmetics so you can use Mickey in BR for example. Or hell even Lightning McQueen in BR. If I'm gonna purchase cosmetics, they better be available in the majority of the maps and modes I might wanna play. While I take a certain amount of financial responsibility and self control into account, I also wanna point out the virtual shoes being a cosmetic. They've added Instruments and Legos into bundles now. Now they wanna make us buy virtual shoes. Like wtf is Epic thinking????

If Fortnite had gone mainstream as a metaverse/roblox style game, then nobody would complain. But the fact the game that blew up was the battle Royale, that’s what people know it as, means they will never accept it as a metaverse game. Roblox got popular as an all-in-one game, and that’s what people know it as, it’s basically a playground for anything to exist in it, and that’s WHY people love it. So if Roblox decides to change their game by taking modes away, people will not like and move on to a different game, the same like what’s happening Fortnite but in the opposite direction
technically speaking, fortnite battle royale could be considered a metaverse since it was an offshoot of save the world. Fortnite is a great battle royale but eventually, that genre will phase out and Fortnite is adding something more for them to last longer as a game.

@@antirevisionistI actually agree with you too. At one point Minecraft was smut known as an open-world survival game, but not it has so many different ways to play the game. There are smps, maps made by the community (and Mojang themselves), etc. That’s kind of what I feel like Fortnite is going for because they want as much players as possible, and they know have a lot more variety is the best way to do that. The only thing that they’ve got to get better at is being able to balance both Battle Royale and their other modes.

Warzone and fortnite copy a lot from each other, recently announced map rotation and resurgence/reload maps which warzone has for 4 years now in rotation too as low as 3 maps. COD saw the success of OG season November 2023, thus Verdansk, the OG warzone map comes after years for its 5th anniversary this march 10 2025. And another big map too, Avalon, maybe map rotation for big BR maps?
Yh same for me, og season was a blast, the movement doesn’t do it for me, instead of improving on it they made it clunkier. Made worse ui got rid of rarities for skins. Ch5 was asscheeks from my first impressions and the movement was the decider to quit, haven’t touched the game since then

The map kinda lacked any character. Even with the chapter 2 map which was a rollercoaster, at least there were memorable locations. No one’s gonna say “I want grim gate back”

I do think bullet drop is a good idea as it stops turning every gun into a sniper and adds more skill into long ranged combat but it could be less heavy
To sum it up, it’s just too corporate now.
Realism (constantly improving graphics, realistic graphics instead of cartoony, bullet drop, new realistic movement, weapon attachments, first person aim-down-sights), the most new collabs of all time, the metaverse being forced on the players, UI changes that are meant to help out Disney in the locker and shop, and just clearly inflating the price of skins despite them claiming no rarities does not mean their prices will increase.
I agree with you, except the collab part. Pirates of the Caribbean is kind of old and is not that well known by younger kids. Avatar in my country is only known by a couple of nerds (I use the term in a non offensive connotation). Ninja Turtle is kind of mixed. Some know it some don't. Disney stuff is hated by kids that try to act as grown ups (most of them). The only exception is Mrs Incredible but... That's for another reason. Edward Scissor Hands, Texas Chainsaw Massacre are old movies and franchises that don't sell that much today (besides edgy acting people or people like me that are a bit older). The only "relevant" collabs they brought this Chapter were Venom (cause of the new movie), Lethal League (for memes) and maybe some that I don't remember.

Here kids (I'm talking about 10-14 years old) just watch a lot of adult stuff. I know that is not good for them but I'm not their parents, I can give some advice to them and to the parents, but in the end it's not something I can do a whole lot about. Culture and society are things so big that no single person can change. Here kids just listen to Trap (Trevis Scott is really big, Kendrick Lamar and so on). Favorite shows are Breaking Bad, The Boys and so on. The only cartoons they watch are anime (but the kind of anime that is full o violence and s*x). Some here even get bullied for liking kids stuff. But I'm glad to hear that is not the norm everywhere.
Ive been pretty much consistently playing since the beginning of the game and this chapter was the first time i took a 3 season long break. I don't really have a lot of expectations for the game anymore, i just hope it doesn't get drastically worse.

Reload just feels more rewarding and worth my time. Fetching Medallions and dealing with Crossover Gimmicks has been the definition of this Chapter.

I HATE the weapon mods, it feels like you need them to even use the gun. And I believe it stops them from making creative choices when it comes to guns. Chapter 4 has some great examples, like the twin mag guns and the twin mag ar’s scope. With the mods they can’t do anything creative like that. I hope they leave in Chapter 6.
This, I really hate when someone lands next to me, and I can't even trust the first gun that I can get cause it might be thermal scope SMG with the worst hip fire accuracy ever.

I was having some really hard times during chapter 5 season 3 which I know is not the games fault but was what I had to go through at the time. Because my dog past away well he wasn’t really our dog he was originally my uncles so he lend him to us to take care of. But back when the season started at the time me and my family have been taking turns watching over him cause he was panting so hard and hasn’t been eating enough of his food much. So my mother brought him to the vet to see what was wrong with him and she said that his spleen was giving him a lot of pain which explained why he was barely eating. Which she also added that they can remove it if he had enough blood in him to make the surgery happen. Which was a success which I thought would solve everything but he only lasted a couple of months later before we decided to let him go which before we made that decision we’ve been giving him some walks for him to live his last moments with us but there was one problem he was also suffering from. What was worse about his condition was that he had a random tumor on his back end which was looking really infected when ever he had to do his business which I don’t want to describe the details. But then on I came up with an idea that me and my family should take a family picture with him to memorize him by. And we even celebrated his 15th birthday early before we had to say our final goodbyes on that same day. It’s been really hard for me but mostly for my sister since she loved and adored him with her life when ever she’s in her room with him while working on her upcoming college exams. But he’s gone now and I’m really going to miss him for helping us on getting through these tough times we’ve had these past years with him
I feel that cuz I had to put my dog down literally the other day because he was having seizures despite his medicine and he also had hip displasia and after that seizure episode, he couldn't use his back legs anymore. My condolences for your loss although a bit late.

This Chapter was not bad for me. It had some interesting ideas, of course some worse than others.
Seasons 1 and 4 are solid, with decent loot pools and fun gameplay. Season 4 did have a problem with the jetpack. They were basically necessary in each game if you wanted to place high. It did not help when Epic made it harder to find the jetpack; it just made it worse.
Season 2 was very boring to me mainly because of the very similar "New" weapons like the Harbringer SMG and Warforged AR. Besides the weapons, the new POIs were great, the return of Midas was fun, and the Avatar collab was dope.
Season 3 to me was pretty fun with the new weapons like the Tow Hook, Boom Bolt, Tri-Beam, and the return of the Combat AR and Shotgun. The only problem with Season 3 was the issue with the cars and Nitro Fists. Epic could not balance these things for some reason, they could have made the fists more like the katana and reworked the car weapon attachments.
Overall this chapter to me is a 7.5/10
I agree with this, chapter 5 wasn't bad even though i think that chapter 5 is like top 3 in my personal ranking but i feel like bullet drop was a bad idea, also i though the metaverse was going to ruin br so i hated it but now i can see that this is not the case and br is doing well and even as a great storyline so good for me. Overall 8-8.5/10 chapter.

Nah but actually, it just feels weird it was such an unnecessary change and the old movement just had more of a better pace than this new one, they claimed “we would get used to it as the chapter went on” but imo it just got worse as the seasons went on. In fact, this is just one unnecessary change they made that nobody asked for, and had no problem. This chapter for me is the worse cause they slowly stripped away things that made Fortnite, FORTNITE. Oh yeah and it’s ass.
This was the first chapter where i, like a lot of other players it seems, took a step back from the game entirely, chapter 5 just made me feel like a guinea pig with the short 4 seasons we got being a testing ground for epic. I hardly played at all after chapter 5 season 1. The loot pool sucks and so over the top, when chapter 2 remix was released, i was hooked again! I started playing fortnite in chapter 2 season 1 and just being on the map again made me so happy. The loot pool was amazing and simple, and having the graphics toned down was great too. I really wish EPIC would focus more on what made them great instead of having to rely on nostalgia to keep them afloat

I've been playing since 2017, and this is just my opinion, but honestly, Chapter 1 and Chapter 3 were honestly the two chapters so far that were for the most CONSISTENTLY fun. Chapter 2 and Chapter 4 had some amazing seasons too like Ch2 S2, Ch2 S4, Ch2 S7, Ch4 S1, Ch4 S4, but overall I found myself having the most fun throughout Chapter 1 and Chapter 3.

I legitimately think that the bigger and smaller Fortnite creators should come together and create a petition or hashtag movement to bring back rarities, because it is legitimately a scummy move to do that, and then blatantly increase cosmetic prices even thought they promised they wouldn’t. Because without the creator’s support Fortnite would suffer greatly, because their biggest free marketing tool is the creators. They have literally never had to pay for a tv commercial or anything except for TH-cam and twitter ads, and became the biggest game of all time, all because of the tons of viral moments created by Fortnite content creators. I won't lie, I'm pretty sure whatever modes survive this shakeout of the first two years will develop fans just like Save the World did, just like Battle Royale did, and just like Creative did.
I think Festival survives just because we don’t really have anything else like it, the songs are ridiculously priced but in most cases you can still play them even if you don’t own them. Lego has a fanbase but it’s gonna need to be built up over a really long time as it’s still barebones, and I’m not sure anyone plays rocket racing unfortunately

I hope so. I started playing near the end of Chapter 4, Season 2 for my friend. After he took another break from the game post OG season. I pivoted to playing Festival only. Epic's decision to make the pass more accessible by changing it from the Festival Pass to the Music Pass, incorporating it into the rest of the game, and changing the progression from Festival points to XP, gives me the impression that they do not have faith in the mode. The revenue from the Festival Pass must not have been high enough to justify the costs of licensing the music and paying the featured artists.

LEGO Fortnite has had consistent updates and the game is a lot better because of it along with the player feedback.
Rocket Racing may have lost some reoccurring content updates, but that doesn't mean Epic is gonna pull the plug on that mode, as there are still players hanging around that mode.
When you think about it, the metaverse is a great escape along with Creative and Save The World if players need a break from Battle Royale.
Tim Sweeny needs to be replaced. His decisions are ruining fortnite in his desire to create something that has already failed time and time again (the metaverse). There have been so many attempts at metaverses and all of them failed except for Roblox and VRChat which are still successful

While technically occuring just before Chapter 5, what bothered me the most in the leadup to it was the sudden removal of our Legacy Achievement Awards. I used to grind every season to get as many as I could, and I loved looking at that timeline as a mini calendar of my history with the game. Oh! That was the first day and time I landed on c2s7. And that was the day I got my 10th solo win that seasons! Etc. I even completed the fish collection book each season. And if you played during those seasons it existed you remember how hard it was to find the elusive White Slurp Fish. While not technically cosmetics, those awards felt like they were cosmetics to me, and removing them hit me as hard as if Fortnite removed a bunch of sprays I had spent hours upon hours grinding for :(

I just started playing during this halloween event and I've been having a pretty great time. I like the movement and weapon selection, even if other people definitely know how to use them way better than me lol.

The metaverse definitely changed the way br was handled. Ch 5 season 1 had a good start, S2 kind of lacked content and still decided to remove mythics for the avatar ones.? S3 changed the way br was played with OP cars, fists and nitro, this would’ve been successful if these changes were an LTM as it perfectly fit that criteria and having a balanced version be the normal br mode. Not sure why they decided to nerf everything when it wasn’t even in competitive anyway. S4 feels like they got scared to add all the marvel mythics even though being a marvel season that’s precisely what people expect. The old ones from 2020 were surprisingly balanced and fun to use yet they haven’t been seen nor have we seen marvel knockout return. Instead we got a downgrade of the endgame mode with less mythics. And for some reason they don’t take advantage of the fact it’s an LTM, because due to lack of marvel mythics we were given mythic guns which made it seem more like team rumble. not to mention locker changes, movement and item shop changes that have been controversial. Epic really gave the community a reason to yap about the downgrade it lowkey has had this year

I think it's very telling that I can't find anyone who can agree about the state of Chapter 5 and whether or not it was really bad. I wouldn't say opinions are split across the middle but takes are so clearly polarized against each other that it's hard to get a read on what the true majority of players actually want. Part of me thinks that Fortnite has simply become so large with so many different feeling modes, that now it's hard if not impossible to please both old and new fans of the game. I hope those chapter long surveys Epic has been sending out tell them enough to create a better Chapter 6 that more people can enjoy

So many things wrong bullet drop, ass graphics, clunky movment, too realistic graphics, attachments, focused more on metaverse and ufen than battle royal, prices, season 3!!!!!, BORING seasons, cosmetic rarity being removed, everything stuck in the bundle which I didn’t care about because I was getting the full bundle but when I got Eddie Brock I wanted to buy the she venom pickaxes but of course stupid and money hungry fortnite doesn’t let me do it. Theirs more I don’t like about this chapter but I forgot what they are. Also did I say this season was boring… oh yeah I did but I’ll say it one more time this chapter was overall BORING mainly with the updates getting boring fast and wasting so much potential. Ps I see the hate comments you’ve been saying and you are wrong but that’s your opinion. I never said everything was bad there were some good things but they didn’t last long. The statistics proves my point that this was the worst chapter. I also respect them for trying something new but everything got old within a week. I agree on your “hot take” I’ve been saying that literally since the beginning of the chapter, it’s called fortnite “battle royale” for a reason not fortnite “battle royale and other game modes”. I don’t mind them keeping creative but I don’t like the way the lobby looks like Netflix or Roblox with a bunch of copy and paste games to look through. It looks messy and just terrible. I really don’t know how they could fix the creative thing other than to revert it back to the original mode were you would load into creative and put a code to play the map you want to play, or have featured games. Back to the other game modes, the instruments, legos, and cars ALSO make the shop look UGLY. They should have implemented shops into each of their own game modes.

I feel like I don't have the best frame of mind to compare and contrast since I actually got into Fortnite *This chapter*. Specifically at the start of the Marvel Crossover and more specifically it was solely because I'm a big Gwenpool fan and was excited to finally play her in a video game. Now I've 100% the battle pass, all of the quests, dipped my toes in Lego, Festival and Racing and even got decently far in Ranked. I can't really speak for the quality in comparison to whatever came before this since... I'm new but I've just been vibing and loving this Season.
Welcome to Fortnite! I started playing in C4 S4, I think I preferred the C4 map a lot more but I definitely had some fun overall with C5. My favourite season so far is C5 S3, though I don't agree with this guy's reasoning and I loved it the most when it was at it's most balanced (after the car nerfs but before the magneto gloves). That made the cars feel really fun since they weren't too OP. I'd say S2 and S1 are fairly tied in terms of quality. This current season has been my least favourite tbh but I'm still enjoying it and there's plenty of fun to be had. Festival's an awesome mode too. Can't wait to see what C6 has in store.

This has always been a really funny quandary to me. You know what I mean. Like when people start complain about wanting their games to get better, and when changes are made, they just bitch about wanting everything to be the same at it was. That makes no sense!

Hell, I'm 59 years old. (OG-OldManGamer in most games I play now), and started plying Fortnite with my kids a just a couple of days into Chapter 2, Season 3. And when I first started playing, I thought that all of the controls were funky, and that the keyboard responses were way to sluggish. And characters couldn't slide, climb walls, pile drive through another player and knock them over (or at least mess up their shot). You also couldn't use - what I would think of as "Natural Skills", like punching and kicking! Not to kill another player with, but at least give you an extra few seconds to make an escape. But that said ...
I am lucky I guess. I slowly got used to it all, and then during Chapter 5, they started adding ways to tweek how quickly your keyboard will react, and my oldest son showed me how to adjust the controls to how I like to play. After that, I haven't complained about how the controls work until trying ROCKET RACING. And Wooh!
I had to make a serious mental shift in order to accomidate for the game physics! For example - Skid around corners makes you go faster?! Lava floating in mid-air, or being a wall?! Driiving upside down inverts your steering on the fly?! Slamming into the ground at 700 km per hour (or what I call 434.96 mph) does nothing to your car?! Running into other drivers, without the cost of being damaged and having to finish the race by having to go slower?! But hey. I kept playing it, and after a while I started to get the hang of it. Practice, practice, practice right?!
Here's the other thing - I know that a lot of people are complaining about a little "realism" being added into the game. And the same people also complain about they want it to be more cartoony with how the characters look. But if that's one of your complaints - build an Ol School PC and load it up with Windows 95, or XP, and play the older games that run and look that way! There are HUNDREDS of them!
with how much we have to pay for decent computer to play games on now-a-days, I want my graphics to be beautiful to look at, and make the world feel like another world! Not as choppy old cartoon!!
I want my games to advance with it's looks, sounds, movement, story telling, and game play! And I want them to be fun! And I am sorry to tell people - In order to do that, the game creators have to make changes every once in a while, and find out what works and what doesn't. And that's A-OK by me. At least I know that they are trying - and at least EPIC Games listens to the players!!
I've been wating since the days of freaking PONG (1972 to you kids out there) to play video games that not only had a decent story to them, but also games that had great graphics, music, and the abitity to interact with other players! So to me, all of this stuff is great!!!
So my suggestion is, Play the game. If they make changes you like, or changes you don't like, tell EPIC. Whining to other players that fell like you do, doesn't help. It just creates hate talk. And hate talk just creates more hate talk. And we have enough of that in the real world.
All that being said, I do get what you are saying. But it's just like everything, it's a personal perseption. And we are all going to feel about the changes differently. And sometimes when something you like gets changed, deep down inside we kind of take it personally. So try shaking it all off, and look forward to the Chapter. And cross your fingers that you like that one more.
And like I said earlier. If they are doing things you don't like, and you want an older look and feel to your games. Build that Ol School PC. It's pretty darn cheap to do, and there were some really cool games that my friends played together! Way back in the late 1990's and early 2000's. Back when we would bring our PC setups to each others homes, and set up a private network and play games for hours and hours!!!! We hyad a blast! And you can still do that over the current internet too. It just takes someone in your friends group to have a PC as a personal server everyone could cennect with.
With chapter 6 out, chapter five felt like a test to see what works and what the players want

With season 4, the biggest problem for me with the mashup skins is that they chose the most reused characters out there when they have a thousand characters to choose from. Jonesy was literally on the first battle pass of this chapter, so he didn't need to be included again. Peely had gotten a new skin in Myths and Mortals as well as a new LEGO pass skin this season and didn't need to be included. I know Peelverine was hinted at before in chapter 2, but he should have been an item shop character. Meowscles didn't need a mashup skin, especially since he's getting a new skin next season and has skins in the store. Oscar would have been a better mashup since he is an actual tiger, which fits Sabertooth better,
and he's a villain. Oscar also doesn't have a shop skin, which would have been great for people who didn't play Season 1.
I would like to see more previous battle pass characters get new skins for the shop. It's cool having a second Calamity skin in a pack that looks equally as cool as the exclusive one. There's a ton of characters like Catalyst, Sidewinder, and Dire that haven't returned yet.

The sheer performance issues were what killed it for me. I have a Ryzen 3700x and a 1080ti which is old, but not so old to where I shouldn't be able to play Fortnite with much reduced graphics settings and still drop below 60fps consistently.

@@Johndavis0097 issue with all of chapter 5 is they keep adding fundamentally broken items. With something like the war machine arsenal, because of how it works, there's no way to balance it so it's fair and fun. It's either op or so weak it's frustrating. Season 4 has more of these, and they're much more variable amongst players in a game (eg, everybody had nitro fists, but there's more spread of iron man gear, arsenal, etc), whereas season 3 had an objectively more fun meta, even post nerfs
The worst thing about Chapter 5 is that it was a sad little heap of crap designed to cater to seemingly the entire known universe and apparently ended up appealing to no-one. The OG season was a population grab, 30M players iirc, all for it to get put down like a puppy with a lame knockoff version of the Season X event and be like, "hey, we're glad you liked this. get ready to throw it all away for this awesome new Roblox knock off!!!! we're so sure you'll love it that that is all the event will be about." ... And nobody ended up liking it, so they added Rewind as a last resort as to not kill the game entirely, with an island that is supposed to be OG but spiced up (shit on would be a better term) to make them feel good about themselves and think that they're being so slick when in reality it is the closest thing to a proper Fortnite experience since the OG season and they know it. Of course, Tim doesn't care and will run the franchise into the ground to get as much money out of it as possible.

as an exclusive no builds player: season 2 of the chapter was the only season where i enjoyed this chapter, season 3 was okay, season 1 was okay but due to personal problems was not enjoyable and season 4 was the biggest bs i have ever seen, the shield was ptsd from the riot shield, the auto turret was the biggest non skill equip ive ever seen and 2 jetpacks were yeah just escape bcause i am loosing the fight. the love and care for the metaverse is fading away in my perspective and the chapter 2 remix was not my thing, the only thing i really liked was the reload thing.

It depended what kind of player and person you were. I loved the non-stop action, but when they started narfing everything, it made magneto gloves and nitro fists unbearable. The unbridled chaos was the only thing that really justified their OPness. And after the nerfs, they were always a 80% loss rate.

Looking back, chapter 5 was the most nostalgic for me.
I think Chapter 5 is a 7.5-8/10 Chapter, hear me out, Chapter 5 Season 1: was one of Fortnites Best Seasons in the Top 10 best Seasons, it was very good, Strong Weapons, Great Graphics, Solid Mobility, and Great Weapons. The Map was pretty good, a little plain but not bad. Medalions were 10/10 and a lot better, Mythics were 10/10 Amazing, thus Season was great, Weapon Attachments were Amazing, But, Bullet-Drop instead of Hitscan was pretty Mid, now it's not bad, but still Hitscan is just better.
Chapter 5 Season 2: New Great Poi's, Mythics were amazing, Weapons were Amazing, Medalions were the best, Nerfed Snipers and Shotguns, Avatar Mythics, Kinda a Mid-Good Season.
Chapter 5 Season 3: Cars were Op, At first this Season was really good, after it was pretty Mid, The Metalica and pirates of Caribbean update was Good, but this season was overall pretty good, Medalions were not bad, and mythics were good. Mid season.
Chapter 5 Season 4: At first this was one of Fortnites best Marvel themed seasons, now it's not bad but gets boring after awhile. Mythics were good, Medalions were not bad, only 1 was really good being Emma Frosts Reveal Medalion, and the only real good mythics were Sovereign Shotgun and Doombots monarch Pistol, and war machines with iron man boots. Pretty good Season.

If you were creative this was an awesome chapter. If you were limited you struggled. Be it battles in underground bunkers, wars atop statues, mythics, medallions cars it really pushed the narrative of how much into carnage are you?
They those invested in they systems calling themselves skilled will disagree because they had only trained for the positive and not for the negative aspects of their game. Once exposed they protested until they got a safe space to hide in reload and there they stayed until og season came where they had 3 month of sorry gun places to work on drops and map familiarity.

Now that Remix is out. I am not saying that it is bad but it is not the real thing. The lore basically doesn't exist anymore. I hate the new movement, the UI, the locker, and the terrible shop layout.
It is honestly one big ad and freakin ice spice is in there for some mf reason.
Fortnite used to be way calmer and it wasn't this chaotic. It is losing it's personality. It is like that one insecure kid who was already appreciated by his friends but is trying to be someone else in a weird way.
The battle passes were actually fun to grind and get all the extra styles back then but now they decrease the xp you get and are forcing you to level up 50 more levels. I had so many memories cranking up the graphics, playing some music and just chilling doing quests.

Eh, i disagree. Chapter 5 was a great chapter for experimentation but I would go back to Chapter 4 in a heartbeat. New movement, weird shift to a realistic game style, BULLET DROP FOR ALL WEAPONS >:(, and them not even trying to make new weapon mods after season 2. Overall this chapter was a huge sandbox of "lets throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks", the problem is almost nothing stuck lol. I didnt hate C5, definitely had fun moments, but its my least favorite by a landslide.
I thought I hated chapter 4 more but looking back I had a ton of fun during season 2 and 3 that I never got in chapter 5 because everyone quit after season 1. Overall while chapter four had a awful map and story it's still overall better because it felt like Fortnite.

Honestly, I don't get the hate for Chapter 5. Personally I really like it. Not a single bad season. Hell, C5S1 removed the burn out that Chapter 4 gave me, and C5S3 was what made me play as much as I did in Chapter 2. Did they fumble a lot of things? Yes. Honestly, as much as I love Chapter 5 (It's my third favorite chapter, I haven't played Chapter 1, but my ranking for Chapters is C2, C3, C5, C4) I have to admit, it has a lot of issues. Rarity removal, UI change, ETC. But, despite those seasons, I've had a lot of fun in C5.
LITERALLY! I was so burned out of this game throughout all of chapter 4 so when this chapter came out I actually had fun with this game for the first time since like c3 s1 (excluding OG). I hope one day the community can see how good this chapter really is.

The reason chapter 5 failed is that it didn’t. Thats literally it. This chapter was really really fun and was way better than the 2 worst chapters (aka chapter 2 and chapter 3). This chapter really was a testing ground to see how epic can improve the game by learning form og and trying out new things and those new things where really really fun! Every season this chapter has had tons of quality updates that added a good amount in each one. Also chapter 5 season 1 was in the top 5 best seasons of all time and I’ve been playing since chapter 1 and the new movement is literally the exact same feeling, at the beginning when it was slower it took like 1 game to get used to lol.

As a Greek mythology fan first and degree student later, I really want to support chapter 5 season 2 every time the topic comes up, as I really liked the map and the style of the pois. But instead, us players and the theme itself were done dirty with so many dumb decisions. The skins were mediocre for the most part and the fact that they took the gods items out for the dumb anime crap for a month. Even though they weren't caused by the season itself, so many other controversies happend during that time, like the age restriction bullshit and the removal of cosmetic rarities, so it will always remain as one of the worst periods of this game sadly.
The whole forced metaverse approach had already killed my hype anyway, I even skipped a season and a pass entirely for the first time with chapter 5 season 3.
If You sit yourself in a room with a newer player, viewer, generation, etc… and talk about how great things used to be they aren’t gonna care at all whether they were alive at that time or not. Our minds view almost ever aspect of the past as a simpler or better time and all it’s gonna do for you and make you depressed. You need to overlook those factors to really get an understanding of what is really important, and determining what is better helps nothing. And in that aspect I disagree with almost every thing discussed in this video.
Ch5 season 1 was one of my favs. But every other chapter was disappointment other than a few pickaxes and gliders lol, i do like some new guns for creative but still no mythic powers for creative so
Honestly the ONLY good thing they did in my opinion is the moving while healing. Maybe it’s because I am an apex player as well but the moving while healing is great.
Such a promising start with season 1 of this chapter, then it completely nosedived and never recovered
