    I did this 10 yrs ago, camped every night and took everything on my back. I got so lucky with the weather and not a single days rain. Great video and nice to relive some of those moments through your camera

    Very cool. I’ve hiked in places where it’s ok to wild camp but knowing that’s not doable in England makes me nervous… I’m not sure I can handle the admin of planning where I’ll stay each night. Is there some handy resource for campsites and hostels on this route?

    • @JonnoDoesStuff

      I didn't wild camp on this trip, it was too wet and I wanted a shower/breakfast/somewhere to dry my kit. Stayed at campsites, hostels, pubs, and the odd farm. It's very well catered for and I had no problems finding somewhere as I went (nothing pre-booked). It's also totally possible to wild camp, I saw a ton of potential places. There's a great Facebook page called 'Coast to Coast Walk' where you'll find pretty much everything you'd need to plan sleeping places. Highly recommend :)

    I walk a bit, I film a bit, I watch a lot of other walkers. This was just great in all respects (except weather). Somehow it even made me think I could do the Coast to Coast one day - if only I develop the necessary philosophical humour.

    • @JonnoDoesStuff

      Thanks, Catherine! Will do it again one day, and hope for better weather! It's an amazing walk with plenty of food/accommodation/itinerary/route options for people of all abilities. I met one lady who'd walked it 10 times. She'd had a hip operation 4 months prior to her latest attempt!

      Thanks for watching! Hoping to squeeze 1-2 more UK adventures in. The DCF Atom is a very fine pack, really enjoyed it on this trip. I really like the Duplex, I wouldn't say it's ideal for the UK. Had a couple of not fun windy nights in it but I think that was due to using Groundhog Minis. Since using the regular Groundhogs it's be sturdy. Alas, the hunt for the perfect tent never ends!

      @@JonnoDoesStuff Thanks. Watched your kit video as well now. Can't believe you managed a drone as well. But as it gets colder you will need a bigger baggy and if you are going to carry a cook set, you'll have to drop the drone (and carry the food). Pubs and shops are so common now though and I agree to use them over carrying lots of foods.

    • @JonnoDoesStuff

      @@marvinbrock2572 Agreed, it's easier going lighter in the summer. I don't do much (if any) winter hiking but given how atrocious the summer was I'm looking at getting some proper winter kit. Luckily I already own a bigger bag!

      @@JonnoDoesStuff Probably sounds ridiculous but I'm looking at an 80 litre to replace my last 70. It's not that I pack more than I need to but the difference in weight between a 35 and an 80 litre is about 1ilb and most of the weight is in the straps and support and I can't help thinking that if you are going to put weight into anything, then why the heck not in the thing doing the carrying! High tog sleeping bags don't weigh much more than low tog either, they just take up more space. I guess I'm a large and light person. A little extra space if I need it :)

    • @JonnoDoesStuff

      @@marvinbrock2572 Not ridiculous at all! When it comes to pack size it's better to have and not need than to need and not have. I don't always expect to err on the minimal side of packing, I enjoy the odd luxury item!
