This will be our last LOTR episode, but I know I can speak for The Crew and say that I have loved every minute of playing this set. I can’t believe how awesome the set is and how much fun it has been to have a Commander show on TH-cam to showcase it. Thank you all for joining the journey ❤
just started the ep, but from the first 10 minutes I want to say: I've been watching all your games since the first one, and this episode feels like a real level up for all in your charisma and interaction as content creators.
Seeing Blake play Catapult Master was the highlight of the video for me, I played a 60 card soldier deck back in the day and it just brought back SO many memories
SO I could very much be wrong but wouldn't Boromir, Warden of the Tower counter the free cast of Fierce Guardianship at 38:30. Regardless if this was in fact the case. Still a great episode! I know mistakes happen especially with new cards!
Thank you Ben. I have been shouting from the rooftops that Gimli and Legolas should have been partners. Those two cards almost feel like they forgot honestly.
With so many legends from the LoTR set, I’m glad you all took the time to showcase a lot of them. This was a fun set, and a fun way to showcase some of the other cards in a cool way. Thanks for the great content!
I Don't comment on TH-cam much. Got into magic when I was 13, started on commander. For years I wished there was a channel that focused on it that was as streamlined as yours, never found one. Came back to the game pretty recently after a years long hiatus and found your channel. It's what I was looking for. Thanks.
This is easily the best Magic gameplay channel, the plays are clear for beginners as me, it's always fun decks. The production is laid back so we can enjoy the game ! Thanks a lot
Commenting to feed the algorithm. I really appreciate you guys! I have a question on the game, would the fierce guardianship not be countered by Blake's creature that says "if no mana was spent to cast a spell counter it"? I am not sure if I missed something, watching this while working and all :(
5 minutes into the episode and I already love everything about this flavor wise. Perfect partner commanders, and fun idea. Without having watched the full episode yet, I really hope Ben will count every creature he kills all game
There are some things i don't think i could ever do in commander: play blood moon, win with poison at 10 counters, and play serra ascendant (like why isn't this card modified for commander?)
What a great game! Wild swings. I thought Ben’s Brash Taunter was going to just start removing players! Then Blake goes for the win, exiling Gandalf and Ben’s board. Gandalf (Shea): look to my coming on the fifth day…at dawn [charm]…
Really enjoyed the "Partner/Not Partner" idea as long as they make sense. Should be something done on occasion here and there imo. Keep up the great content everyone.
Some buddies and I did something similar when All Will Be One came out, we all took a Prateor and Background from Baldur's Gate and made decks around them. Needless to say the games got out of hand quickly but were fun as hell.
Nice vidéo, like always! I love commander so much. My playgroup start pauper commander. I dream of one episode with this format. Respect. Francis Marion
I love this, when I didn't have enough cards to build actual Commander decks, I'd need to use multiple Commanders to meet colour identity for the deck sometimes. I also had a Baron Sengir/Uncle Istvan deck, there might even have been a 3rd Commander lol, but they would all be pretty bad cards that are almost not worth casting. I carry on the legacy of those decks a bit with a pod of decks, each with a Legends dud as the Commander (some less dud than others). I have an eventual plan of making another pod of Legends decks, using the OG Elder Dragons, and technically all those decks could play together. That said, it's much easier to build a 2 colour deck than 3, and those dragons are hard to cast so we'll see (but honestly, even Chromium has more firepower to him than most of the 2 colour beaters, and one of them costs 7 mana as well, for a 5/7 that taps for B). Shea's deck reminds me a bit of my Anax and Cymede deck (it's a Snowdrop K-Drama vorthos deck), that deck runs auras as both an A+C trigger, but also as a card draw engine. If I have 1 or more Enchantresses out, I draw cards when I cast my Auras, the key was using some Auras that can bounce themselves and are cheap to cast, the best being Flickering Ward and Crown of Flames. I'm wondering if I should add Gandalf to the list, the deck likes Vigilance since it runs a bunch of old fashioned Stax effects.
This is how we drafted the LotR set! All the mono colored legends had "partner" on it so we could make sure everyone could at least have a two colored commander
I honestly have a combo I’d want to pull off on this episode. It isn’t a Lord of the Rings combo but I wish Lathiel the Bounteous Dawn (Lifegain Unicorn focusing on +1/+1 counters) and Halana and Elena (Rangers who focus on +1/+1 counters) because they’d work so amazing with each other.
Is there room in the world for a format called WeDH? Would just be Rule 0 commander decks you only play with buddies and people up for a shakeup! Great game and fun to watch! Congrats for some really compelling back and forth gameplay
What a wonderful idea with partner commanders, which aren't actually partners! I am enjoying your videos so much the last weeks. I guess, I watched one video every day. Thank you so much for your content. ❤ Lovely greatings from Germany :)
If you're talking about the trigger reminders Blake and Shae do it too when they are out first and if people forget triggers. CGB just seems to keep track of triggers better then the rest since he plays magic everyday and is used to it.
For what my opinion is worth. We’ve been in a 2 month lord of the rings drought. With a brief intermission for commander masters. Maybe it’s time to move on. For me personally it got old after the first two or three.

I could watch more of these. This episode was awesome, but I understant not wanting it to grow stale
I’ve loved this set, and it’s how I discovered the show! So good!!!
dont be afraid to bring some cards from the set back every once in awhile
The brotreyal hurt. :( ggs
I would love to see you doing a FULL lotr episode, where you use only cards that are native from the set
just started the ep, but from the first 10 minutes I want to say: I've been watching all your games since the first one, and this episode feels like a real level up for all in your charisma and interaction as content creators.
You guys are quickly becoming my favorite edh channel!
Also, kudos to CGB for keeping track of triggers and rules, helps so much to me as a viewer!
"That ends my reign of terror." - Shea. More like reins of terror.
such a cool rule zero concept.. great content this could be a mini series in the future, but with actual partners or rule zero ones!
Seeing Blake play Catapult Master was the highlight of the video for me, I played a 60 card soldier deck back in the day and it just brought back SO many memories
Blake's comment during Rule 0 made me think you guys should try an episode where you each rebuild your very first decks.
56:29 Ben smile in this moment is lovely ❤. I also build legolas and gimli, love that Ben play them as well!
Great idea Ben!
Lol Ben openers are like a staple of the channel.
With so many legends from the LoTR set, I’m glad you all took the time to showcase a lot of them. This was a fun set, and a fun way to showcase some of the other cards in a cool way. Thanks for the great content!

Honestly this game was really awesome from rule 0 to end. Every moment was the best moment. A classic episode!
the lore checks out, 2 pairs of boots 4 legs
This is easily the best Magic gameplay channel, the plays are clear for beginners as me, it's always fun decks. The production is laid back so we can enjoy the game ! Thanks a lot
Haha nice subtle Rick and Morty reference in there, Blake 😂

You guys have no doubt started a trend!

I LOVE that Camel Up is behind Ben in every video. We go to GenCon every year and it's a must bring and a must play all 5 days!
What a great game! Wild swings. I thought Ben’s Brash Taunter was going to just start removing players!
Then Blake goes for the win, exiling Gandalf and Ben’s board.
Gandalf (Shea): look to my coming on the fifth day…at dawn [charm]…
"You're a blue mage, BLAKE!" best cgb line in the show
Love the series and the chemistry between you guys. Keep it going. I really enjoyed the episode. On to the next one

23:00 Shadowfax will have the trailboots on the back because they... trail behind
LOL!!!! CGB's face when dying like that omg!!! Blake did it!
OMG!! THAT FOOOOOG!!!!!!!!! Best chapter EVER!!!!
Dawn Charm, instantânea de 2 manas salvou a menina. 😅
Nice vidéo, like always! I love commander so much. My playgroup start pauper commander. I dream of one episode with this format. Respect. Francis Marion
Favorite quote from this game. Blake "actually it is a 6/9 nice hahahaha" 😂😂😂
Love the card shay played. It's been a favorite of mine for a while (the honourable mention card)
Best episode yet! I definitely want to try some rule 0 partners now!
Ben! Love seeing you make progress as host of the show, you got this (even if you don't :)
never seen DAWN CHARM before.pretty nice! what a play! adding into a white deck of mine for sure.
Great games guys! Thanks for all the great content! Keep it coming!

"Partner" Commanders + Planechase + High Power EDH = Memes
At 28.11 shay casts jeskkas will, the plains was suppose to go to exile but, ended up in play. Did I miss something?
"Oh, I give 'em way more than +2" - CGB
"Whoaaaa.." - Shea
Lol
I'm not usually into watching games with house rules, but I've got a soft spot for flavor based partners. Hans and saffi 4 eva
This was a really cool rule 0. Loved it!
At the break of Dawn (Charm), we declared a Holy Day.
And then the horses ran into the sunset.
What a wonderful idea with partner commanders, which aren't actually partners!
I am enjoying your videos so much the last weeks. I guess, I watched one video every day. Thank you so much for your content. ❤
Lovely greatings from Germany :)
I honestly thought about pairing bilbo birthday celebrant and bilbo retired burglar as a rainbow deck 😅
My favorite pod I never play in. Love watching the interactions and fun you have and it makes the game all the more enjoyable. Thanks CGCrew
This seems like such a fun group! Wish I could join!
Rip to CGB to save the bro, but the bro won't save the CGB
Not that it would have mattered (depending on what Ben had in hand) Shouldn't Brash Taunter have returned to Ben after CGB died?
Last episode was so bad but this completely redeemed the show.
Cgb gives his tokens the full 6/9.
Epic Dawn Charm!
I love this concept!!! So dope
I BUILT THE SAME DECK BEN!?!? YAS
Rule 0 LOTR commander partner where my commanders are the nine fellowship?? 😅
It's perfect.
Wizards, or Hasbro can not come up with everything, and you mod computer games or other things in life right?
@ shay, Bro-trayal.... Epic
27:19 nice
Great video!!
I agree with CGB, why do soldiers don't disappear? 😅
Oh Ben, never change ❤
Great decks. Not over powered. Great rule 0
Super fun!
Insane game !!!
Daaaamn, that was crazy! :D
Hey CGB does sauron’s mouth write checks that his body cant cash!!! Cachunk symbol crash

Love LOTR games
❤😂🎉

why...........
Thank God this is the last LotR episode. I've been sick of this set since the day it released.
oh do you just hate fun?
bro CGB needs to chill
CGB for fuck sake let people at least try and play their own decks
If you're talking about the trigger reminders Blake and Shae do it too when they are out first and if people forget triggers. CGB just seems to keep track of triggers better then the rest since he plays magic everyday and is used to it.
