That looks like a decent little laser, I like the portability and the fact that it can cut thin materials. When I first looked at diode lasers years ago, they didn't seem like they would do what I needed. That one is getting closer. Great video, thanks for sharing!

Bum, I wrote you an email and would totally love this laser. Great review, excellent exposition on the pluses and the minuses limitations and characterization of the diode laser. Have a phenomenal Labor Day weekend. Looking forward to using the laser and sending you an update of some of the products I create. All the best. Sincerely, Carmelo

Just got mine for $259.50 on the store. I have a large jtech 14w pro laser on my OneFinity CNC, but this will allow me to run both at the same time. 🥰

The first thing I would check would be the tension on the belts to make sure there isn't a lot of slack as that can affect the x/y accuracy. The distortion will tell you which axis needs work.

I got a laser from antother brand and I'm having a blast with it. Do you have any tips on how to build boardgames inserts effectively? I'm trying to come up with a system on fusion 360 based on a game that I already own, but would be difficult to apply to other games. Any help would be appreciated.

I use these simple online programs to generate boxes of various sizes. The only downside is that you need to manually place any dividers that are inside a box. makerdesignlab.com/tutorials-tips/online-file-generators-for-laser-cutting/

Air assist is optional, the add on unit is about $75 direct from Creality.
