"Where did these claymores come from?" Look around for the nearest Army base. Then look in the opposite direction for the nearest National Guard armory. Some Guardsman probably had weekend drill about learning how to use claymore mines, then "accidentally" when home with them instead of putting them back onto the Supply truck. So tell the 1SG it was a "battlefield loss", and have the CPT write off 5 claymore practice mines, 1 detonator, and 1 roll of wire. Robert Willis well if it blew up underwater it wouldn’t matter where it was pointed the explosion would cause an instant pressure change and blow up his organs causing instant death worse than the shrapnel of a grenade
Did you recognize the detonator too? Doesn't belong to mines like that right? Maybe to prevent het picks up the explosive that belonged to the detonator the next time
put the claymore in front of your door and have a wire visibly connecting your door-bell with it. Should do the trick for anyone, no matter if they were soliciting or not.
I once threw a radio alarm clock because it woundn't shut off. After that the led display would count down from 2 minutes and loop. I took some road flares, stuck metal tubing with wires coming out in the ends of the flares, taped the stripped caseless radio alarm clock together...it looked like a bomb. I think you found the line to connect the detonator to the detonation device. If you look at the 11:01 minute mark, that spooled item in the upper left part of the screen, I strongly believe that is the electrical line for between the detonator and the firing device.
I actually have one. I collect inert ordinance. They fetch about 200-300 beans for a set. I think the detonator (clackers) are still live and legit if I remember right. There should be 4 more down there and some wires and mock fuses that connect to the clacker.

yeah that was a real clacker for claymores, and that spool of wire you had at 11:00 is the wire you'd use to connect the clacker to a claymore so that when the enemy walks in front of the mine, you squeeze the clacker a couple times and it sends an electrical pulse to the mine setting it off. the blue colour unless it's soviet era weapons (unlikely to find in the US), is standard for dummy/inert training devices. cool find though, probably would've had the same reaction if i found a claymore in the river until i could confirm if it was live or not, and i've worked on an EOD (bomb disposal) team before.
What wouldve been funny is if the 2nd claymore he found the one that he jiggled out of the rocks. Did not say practice on it. That wouldve been one of those heart dropping moments.

7:10 goes with the claymores he found, that’s an electrical trigger that you would squeeze and when you push the trigger down it would blow the claymores, don’t know if it’s live so good thing he didn’t squeeze the trigger or else it could’ve blown the claymores if they were live.

remember you have a military base not too far from you, and you should call them if you have unexploded munitions. (OR even practice munitions.) It may even have beneficial returns for you, at least as far as having a contact on base.
M57 firing device for those Claymore mines.....now you need to find the firing wire.....its brown and on an oval looking spool but be careful the blasting cap is on the wire.
The ones you have are trainers....totally harmless.
Look at the top...those elbow looking pieces are called shipping plugs...that's where the blasting cap goes.
he found the wire spool, you can see it on the paddle board just before he go's down for the 5th mine, don't know if he kept the spool as it wasn't in his final "haul" shot.
You can see the wire spool at 11:00
Only if the plastic explosives were waterproofed with wax
@@kidtye9579 the guts of an actual Claymore mine are C4 and about 900 steel ball bearings and a steel plate in the back. C4 by design is waterproof so I'm unsure why wax would need to be used.

FRONT TOWARDS ENEMY
your brain goes from ‘no clue’ to ‘gets it’ in a millisecond.
Then throw said contraband over the bridge during the dead of night to lose the evidence.
(Not that I speak from personal experience.)
Oh dang
This does sound pretty specific if you've got not experience
He's in Columbus, GA which is home to Fort Benning, the largest Infantry training base in the world...where I attended basic training and AIT in the mid 90's. Some Range NCO probably took these and then got nervous when they came up missing and people started to ask questions so he tossed them in the spillway.
@@ShaneFree Yeah, I was about to say something similar. The claymores probably got washed up from Fort Benning. I also went to Basic Training and AIT there.

'Point towards enemy'. Get the other side facing you. They have been underwater - they could go off due to movement and corrosion. Check out videos on the damage radius of these things.
Robert Willis well if it blew up underwater it wouldn’t matter where it was pointed the explosion would cause an instant pressure change and blow up his organs causing instant death worse than the shrapnel of a grenade
That moment when one of the claymores doesn’t say practice 😐

Did you recognize the detonator too? Doesn't belong to mines like that right? Maybe to prevent het picks up the explosive that belonged to the detonator the next time
Rolvaag Wouldn’t have mattered if it was real. Claymores cannot go off unless connected by electrical wires or a trigger. C4 is very stable.

I once threw a radio alarm clock because it woundn't shut off. After that the led display would count down from 2 minutes and loop. I took some road flares, stuck metal tubing with wires coming out in the ends of the flares, taped the stripped caseless radio alarm clock together...it looked like a bomb. The radio worked fine and it was a great conversation piece. Don't remember what i did with it.

I think you found the line to connect the detonator to the detonation device.
If you look at the 11:01 minute mark, that spooled item in the upper left part of the screen, I strongly believe that is the electrical line for between the detonator and the firing device.
You're right.
Looks like it
*DALLMYD looks at claymore*

7:10 goes with the claymores he found, that’s an electrical trigger that you would squeeze and when you push the trigger down it would blow the claymores, don’t know if it’s live so good thing he didn’t squeeze the trigger or else it could’ve blown the claymores if they were live.
