I didn't feel like the 3 bars i got was enough so i grabbed a heap of Copper/Brass scrap pieces and did some cool Fallout Coins another Huge Pirate Melee Coin and more . HOW TO MIRROR FINISH A BAR
I start with an 80 grit flap disc on my angle grinder then I use my drill with 50 mm round sanding discs . I start with 150 grit then go through the following Grits 240-400-800 Then once I get to the following Grits I use a small squirt of WD-40 1200-1500-2000-2500-3000. The WD40 helps to lubricate the discs and stops the sanding disk binding up with the metal powder . Then after that I use my buffer wheel on my bench grinder to get a perfect mirrored finish on it??????.

I keep all my steel and cast iron pieces and I give them to my friend and once he gets about a tonne from me and his own collecting he takes that to the scrapyard and sells it then he buys some beer and comes over to my house and we make a night of it.
No My friend doesn’t have a TH-cam channel he just scraps metal in his spare time.

I think I like slag melts better. In regular melts, the slag removed always has metal in it. In slag melts, the slag removed is a nearly fine ash. Since it's not part of your hobby stash, why not sell the slag ash to concrete makers? That ash could help recoup some of the costs of forge fuel.

I like how you don't waste anything. Here in America we have lots of scrap but we throw it away or take it to the scrap yard so they can melt it down. You opened my eyes to money we all throw away. Good job D.

I've been watching this channel for so long, but I still can't get my head around the idea that I think this is entertaining. It's one of those things that is captivating, and at the same time, it speaks to my primitive side. Why this is the case, I have no idea.

I appreciate that you keep what other people might throw away, like slag and the various dusts from cleaning. When you melt it down, it shows how much some people may waste when they just throw it away.
