The level of editing and how this was done makes. A. Whole new level of battle reps. Lol good luck to anyone else trying to make them this entertaining. I'm sure this took a ton of time. To make. Great job.
This is the best battle report I've ever seen. I wish you received commission from GW and Fantasy Flight Games, because you have "inspired" many purchases. I plan on watching this and your other Legion videos on repeat during the assembly and painting of my new Legion Clone Wars starter. Cheers! Zorpazorp is THE best!
I make them both a LOT of money. At least GW are sending me reveiw stock these days. FFG used to but then ASMODEE gutted their marketing department and I haven't heard from them since. Bastards. So glad you're enjoying the content though Josh! I'm really proud of this edit so I'm glad you like it :)
I've wanted to get into Legion for a while now, this is the first video I've seen of people actually playing the game. This was probably the best first video i could have ever seen. The amount of love and thought that went into this is incredible. Great job and Cheer from Canada!
This is the third time I've watched it now. Just admiring the hard work that's gone in at so many levels to make this, lots of detailed minis, a hand-built board, a narrative style campaign pack created, 4 days of gaming, and so much effort to make sure the editing was on point. Really good job dude!
The best battle report of any mini game I've seen on TH-cam. Your commentary and camera work made it extremely easy to follow along. The editing and extra sound effects and animation really took it to another level. Awesome job to the both of you, can't wait to see more.
The production value on this bat rep is INSANE! I would wish every bat rep was this good but the amount of effort that the edit must have taken is truly terrifying. Great job mate keep it up!
When the Rolly Bois came on all I could think about was the Battlefront 2 trailer where the clone commander says "Zone clear" and all of a sudden Darth Maul appears and he shouts "not clear, not clear!!!"
I really like the mix of showing player interaction, shakey action shots of the battlefield and narration of different actions rather than shooting everything from top down. Very well done!!!!
This is the BEST batrep I have ever seen for Star Wars Legion EVER! Can't wait to see the next installments! The modular 2'x2' gaming tiles are fantastic too. Give me more!
This has to be the absolute highest quality battle report I’ve ever seen! It made me so excited for my next game of Legion. Looking forward to the rest of the campaign!!
Oh. My. Gosh. I love the scenario, cards, and extra rules you incorporated!! I've been working on rules for new Jedi and units and this is such an epic inspiration! Thank you so much for putting this out! I built this board off your tutorial so my buddy and I are definitely going to be playing along with the videos.
One of the things that’s been missing from legion has been narrative missions, really cool to see your narrative experience from mesbg port over to legion.
This is the best battle I've seen on TH-cam. Other guys do a great job describing their turns and tactics, but you've hit the mark1 Please keep it going!
I really enjoyed this battle report, it kinda reminds me from the ones that Play on Tabletop channel do for 40k but with a more narrative twist that fits perfectly to the campaign. I think you found your style with this video and you worked really hard to make it great. Can't wait for the next.
ABSOLUTELY blown away by the commentary and editing in this video and seriously looking forward to more missions like this in the future! It's an incredible campaign. Please do these as often as you guys can. Keep using those battle effects effectively, it was awesome and I was at the edge of my seat as Rex made that slick getaway.
This is the best battle rep I've ever seen, also as someone who's never played Legion but is interested, you made the game understandable even for someone who dosen't have a grasp on the rules at all.
Incredible video, Lachie! The editing is out of this world with the little cinematic excerpts for dramatization!! Also, I really enjoyed the blend of the cards and the more traditional tabletop mini rules in SW Legion. I wonder if a similar system could be implemented for Middle Earth sbg to make it more interesting and eventful
Yeah I really like that about LEgion it feels so different because of it's card mechanics, keep me really fresh between 40k, SBG and legion they're all soo different! Glad you enjoyed man, I worked hard o nthe cinematic elements!
This is awesome and I'd love to see more! Subscribed! This inspired me to really put some time and money into making my armies look as good as possible. Once I'm done with my base armies, I'm going to make some really personalized units!
I must admit I know next to nothing about this game. I play warhammer but my best friend was mentioning being interested so when youtube recommended this I thought I'd have a look. You guys are clearly big fans and the passion made it loads of fun to watch despite being at sea with the rules. So great work, I think I'll show this to some of my gaming buddies and my friend as well. Also liked the sound effects and scenes ^^
This was such a great batrep and well played by both commanders! Thanks for all the awesome post production, it was awesome. Can someone explain why he didn't use all his shield tokens at 57:12? As far as I can tell, there is no benefit to saving shields for later. You either take the chance with the dice now, or you take the chance with the dice later. But if you use the shields first, you have a chance to regenerate them, and your droidekas will last for longer on average. Unless there's something I'm missing? Also, I didn't catch if it's a special rule you're playing, but when it's a roll off for initiative, it should be shields for one player, and surge/blanks for the other. That makes it 50/50 and it what it says to do in the RRG. You seemed to be playing it that one player got both the surge and the shields
Glad you enjoyed it! We absolutely played the 50/50, shields for one, surge/blanks for the other :) As for the droideka's although there's no difference mathmatically, Jacko knew that as he regen'd one per turn, leaving a couple unspent wouldn't ever limit his shield regen, because they would all be used well before that. As for the advantage, Jacko basically didn't want to reveal his hand to early, so by taking more saves earlier and keeping his shields in the bank if he got lucky on the dice roll, next turn the droidekas would have the best of both worlds, more shields and less wounds, which would make me not want to bother targetting them with a split attack pool as I wouldn't be able to finish them off with one or two heavy weapons so I'd have to choose to shoot with the entire squad or not bother attacking them. Obviously that plan would have back fired if the dic e went against him, but he got above average on the dice :)
You guys need to play this game again. I’ve enjoyed this video a lot and this one video wants me to get everything that this game has to offer. This must have taken weeks to edit. Great job you guys! Keep it up!
Lets start with the negative: You made a small rules mistake, when you used 2 shield tokens instead of the heavy cover rule which resulted in 1 droideka dying which couldve changed the fate of cpt. Rex. This triggers my CIS-lover heart a bit. That aside, i LOVED your battle report. Geonosis battle was always one of my favorite and a campaign on this lvl of production value is jsut a pleasure to watch. LOVE the Oldschool battlefront sounds, LOVE the story driven and canon inspired battle scenario and you two are chill dudes. Cant wait for more! PS. 4 Days of work, holy shit huge respect for that!
Actually my dude, we filmed it wrong on camera, but we fixed his shield tokens before he was shot next :) but we DID get suppression with the droidekas a bit wrong which could have impacted the game!! But we promise to be better next time! So glad you enjoyed it though mate, in spite of our mistakes!! And it was actually 18 days of work, 4 days to film ,14 days to edit haha! STAY TUNED :D
holy moly! Its crazy how much effort good quality yt content is... And no probs regarding the rules m8, im jsut a huge CIS fanboy and that is why it triggered me a bit^^. But in general i prefer games to be a fun experience, and this one definetly was one.
I love how this battle report kept me engaged, usually I hate watching battle reports but this ones unique. Great job! Also the sound effects were awesome, love the ones from the good old Battlefront 2!
I can't believe how well done this report is, honestly man this is the benchmark everyone should work off of, everything you did was so well done and the right amount and so entertaining. Please continue to do these, you will have a support from Canada for life my friend.
I'm confused did I miss the part where you ruled out AI attack? Droids who aren't issued an order at the start of the round have to use their first action to attack. They can't aim first if their token is drawn from the stack.
This is incredible mate! I can see where all the hours editing went. The finished product is incredible! Especially that Edit at the very start! Good Job mate
this was really fun to watch, i normally don't watch full 1 hour battle reports of huge war boardgames, but i was so immersed, i really loved it, can't wait for part 2, i subbed
PART TWO IS FINALLY OUT!!! th-cam.com/video/Kc5qoS2pmFw/w-d-xo.html Forgot to mention that the clone troopers also benefit from a courage boost stratagem! Sorry if that was causing any confusion with suppression haha! I'll ammend the campaign pack and remember to talk about in the next video! What units would you like to see in the next installment? I'm already sourcing crazy toys of ebay so buckle up!!
The Droid AAT is my favorite legion model so far and would love to see it in action. I’ve painted mine up but haven’t had the opportunity to field it yet. Can’t wait for the STAPs!
I loooooove the AAT and it'll definitely appear inthe campaign but it might not be till part three, some even more exciting droid units might be though..... ;)
I would love to see the B2 battle droid's and maybe even some of the Homebrew Units, (even if you dont use them, I love this as is.) I would also love to see them Arcs!]
Awesome playthrough! I watched the whole thing from beginning to end (a first for your videos) and was entertained from beginning to end. This is how you make a table-top video! 👍🏆 I hope you will play Strontium Dog (Warlord Games) or BattleStar Galactica table-top games in the future 😁
Yep, easily the best battle rep I've seen on TH-cam so far. Felt more like watching a movie and really captured the full essence of the experience. Well done
Just getting into and learning legion, this is the only bat rep I've managed you get into, the speed of play is great the explanation of everything is helping me learn. The sound effects really give the battle an extra dimension to. Great work!
This was the single best batrep I've seen and loved every second. From the editing to the board, I loved everything about it. Please do more! Would love to see some GCW with Endor or Hoth
34:50 - just wow! I loved the extra work you put into the whole Bat rep and it's been so much fun having it on whilst painting. I think I have pretty much watched all your Middle Earth battler reports so I'm pretty chuffed that Star Wars Legion has some too, as I just picked up the starter set on the weekend!!
Your clone painting videos convinced me to take a dive into mini gaming (starting with legion) back in the winter. Been waiting to see what you came up with for a star wars scenario / campaign since then. This was worth the wait. Incredible work man , can't wait for the next !
This was just an amazing overall experience! Loved the mix of "normal" batrep, some scenic dice rolls/takedowns and some more narrative. A nice balance, awesome immersion, fun and thematic campaign. Looking forward to more and thanks for making something as time consuming as it is awesome :)
I really don’t know much about this game, so using this video to understand little basic things really helps out a lot, great vid! Love the showmanship of it :)
Amazing quality - Normally don’t watch battle reports this long but this flew by. Fantastic editing and also an interesting game. Looking forward to seeing the next stage of the campaign.
The formatting you’ve chosen for this video is fantastic. If other entertainers put as much effort into their videos as you do we’d live in a world with much higher quality media. Awesome job!
Okay. I have been waiting for this video since you announced it, I think at the turn of the new year. Amazing quality. Great job with all the editing, very seamlessly done. I only have 1 point of order, since most of the others points were actually taken care of throughout the video, gameplay wise. 1. Suppression does play a major part in the game, but didn't seem to be much of a factor here, note I did not read the campaign book. Droids aren't affect until beyond their leaders courage value unless out of the courage bubble. Everyone else, suppression can determine how many actions you are actually able to do in a turn. Lastly, droids aren't affect but the benefit of suppression, cover, all other factions are though. Again, great video. I cannot wait for the next one.
Thanks so much my man! Yeah I forgot to mention that the clones have increased courage in this scenario as a stratagem, so their all courage 2, to represent how brave they are suicidally charging the breach. But don't worry, Count Dooku will make short work of that courage in installment two!! We just wanted a different feel with lots of run and gunning. Glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing content. Really setting the bar high for the rest of the online content creators. It was a pleasure to watch and enjoyable to see a small part of the movies played out in more detail
I just want to say you create great content, Lochlan. I don't collect or play Star Wars Legion myself, but I've painted a Boba Fett, Krennic and Count Dooku for a friend I met in the 501st Legion, and the game looks really fun. I'm a 40K guy myself, and really enjoy your LOTR terrain vids. Thanks!
Hey Martin! Thanks so much for commenting dude, glad you're enjoying it all, and strap in for some pretty cool 40k content over the next couple of months, :D
just found you guys and I gotta say the quality of the video with all the sounds and small bit of clone wars animation added in is amazing. Keep up the great work.
The legend of the 501st will forever live on via your film. Gripping story with magnificent figures and terrain. Won’t play the game but got to collect me some clone Troopers, and Rex. AND THE GOOD GUYS WON, WHOO !
Masterful! You've really upped your game with this one. I'm now sorely tempted to pick up some Star Wars Legion now. Can't wait to see more huge battles in this style ;)
Just getting into Legion and this is the kind of content I love in my miniature games! You have been a fantastic channel and even made me consider things I hadn't, like trying Lord of the Rings or even get Clones. :P Good job, excited to see the others!
usually I struggle to watch a full battle report but this was absolutely amazing. Great job with the editing and the scenario itself was great. Great video!!!!
Just seen this and it's the best battle report going. Being a new Legion play it was great that you explained what you were going to do and why. Good luck to you guys.
Your models and terrain look excellent the detail and paint on them is amazing it really enhances the battle and makes it enjoyable to watch keep up the great work💯👌
Super late to the party but wow, best batrep I've seen in a very long time. I've recently been in a major hobby slump, not painting or hobbying in months but 20mins into this campaign I cracked out my Stormtroopers and haven't stopped painting all the way through. Very well played, very well filmed, very well explained and fantastic editing. Now onto the next bat reps!
I've never played Legions (played 40k many, many years ago) and I was on the fence about investing into it. I just watched this with my daughter and it was convincing enough to get us onboard. Great video!!!
More more more please!!!! Love your MESBG stuff but I think you truly found your niche here and it shows! PS thank you so much for integrating contrast paints in your painting tutorials for us casual painters! Keep up the awesome work!
Normally dislike the sound effects and “cutscenes” but they were used so well here. Best batrep on TH-cam by far!!!
Oh wow dude high praise, thank you so much!!
Certainly the best Legions batrep I've seen.
The level of editing and how this was done makes. A. Whole new level of battle reps. Lol good luck to anyone else trying to make them this entertaining. I'm sure this took a ton of time. To make. Great job.
Thank you SO much Jacob, it took a lot of work but hopefully people enjoy it, really stoked you did mate :)
This board is so good.
You're so good.
How does he know the name of our firstborn?
Goobertown Hobbies you guys need to do a collab real soon!
Ur mom
Sorry that was out of line. I shouldn’t have said that.
That man is mixing Live Action and Animated. Thought we wouldn't notice, but we did!
Hehehehehehehehehehe how sneaky is the crashing LAAT sequence? LA/CW/CW/LA/CW
There's been 2 battles you can't mix one with the other it makes no sense . get it right
@@Zorpazorp I had to watch that scene a second time just to make sure

Ah thank you so much James, I'm so psyched to get cracking on part two!! Going to WAY more insane than the first haha!
I've never seen this before, this was dope. the sound effects and everything is super cool. I play 40k but this looks very interesting.
I normally rock 40k too. I just put together my first squad of rebel commandos
Glad you enjoyed mate! It's a great system :) Part two out on Friday!
The best battle report of any mini game I've seen on TH-cam. Your commentary and camera work made it extremely easy to follow along. The editing and extra sound effects and animation really took it to another level. Awesome job to the both of you, can't wait to see more.
That's high praise Spencer, thank you so much :) I was really hoping this style would make it really engaging and easy to watch so glad you liked it!"
The production value on this bat rep is INSANE! I would wish every bat rep was this good but the amount of effort that the edit must have taken is truly terrifying. Great job mate keep it up!
Dude it took soooooo long haha, but glad you loved it!

I can only agree that this is one of the best battle reports I've ever watched based on production and entertainment value. Phenomenal.
Thank you so much Dan
Definitely the highest quality battle report - for any tabletop game - out there! Good job man!
Thanks so much Alexander! Lots more on the way!
Best Legion battle report I've seen so far. Great work!
Thanks so much dude and great username haha
I love the format and editing quality. I thoroughly enjoyed the battle report very engaging, especially with the sound effects.
Thank you so much mate, I'm glad it all added to the experience!!!
Excellent use of effects and camera work! Editing was fantastic. Love the campaign looking forward to watching the next installment.
Thanks so much Jason!! We're filming part two this weekend :D
Just getting into and learning legion, this is the only bat rep I've managed you get into, the speed of play is great the explanation of everything is helping me learn. The sound effects really give the battle an extra dimension to. Great work!
Glad you enjoy it Callam!! You've got two more to watch!!!!
This was the single best batrep I've seen and loved every second. From the editing to the board, I loved everything about it. Please do more! Would love to see some GCW with Endor or Hoth
Wow, thank you! Clone Wars is the focus for us, but we might do GCW someday!
I liked the bits with the shortened sequence and narration. Kept the pace from slowing in the parts that were fairly run of the mill.
Thanks Pat!
Great work on this video, guys! I don't play Legion so I normally lose track of what's going on, but you guys did an excellent job.
Much appreciated!
Hell yeah dude! Glad you enjoyed it!!!
Your clone painting videos convinced me to take a dive into mini gaming (starting with legion) back in the winter. Been waiting to see what you came up with for a star wars scenario / campaign since then. This was worth the wait. Incredible work man , can't wait for the next !
That's so exciting Patrick, glad we've swept you along with our madness!
This is hands down the best battle report I've ever seen. I'm not sure what corners you could cut to reduce editing time, but I definitely want more.
Thanks Billy! Dont worry there is more on the way!
This was just an amazing overall experience! Loved the mix of "normal" batrep, some scenic dice rolls/takedowns and some more narrative. A nice balance, awesome immersion, fun and thematic campaign. Looking forward to more and thanks for making something as time consuming as it is awesome :)
Glad you enjoyed it Claudio! I really wanted to get the perfect blend of normal batrep and the cinematic, glad that came across!
I really don’t know much about this game, so using this video to understand little basic things really helps out a lot, great vid! Love the showmanship of it :)
Great job on putting in so much effort. It's worked for you, so keep at it!
Thanks dude :)
Amazing quality - Normally don’t watch battle reports this long but this flew by. Fantastic editing and also an interesting game. Looking forward to seeing the next stage of the campaign.
Glad you enjoyed it Jill!
The production quality of this video is seriously nuts. Single-best battle reports being produced today, for my money.
Thanks so much Ron
Awesome production here mate - loved it. Please keep them coming!!!
Thanks buddy! That was a huge focus for me with this video, so glad it came together :)
Bro this was phenomenal!!! I've never been so entertained watching miniatures/board games being played!!
Thanks so much Jason!
This is the first and so far only video I've seen from this channel.
Subscribed.
Welcome Kyle! Thanks for taking a break hunting Desann to check out the channel!
The formatting you’ve chosen for this video is fantastic. If other entertainers put as much effort into their videos as you do we’d live in a world with much higher quality media. Awesome job!
Wow, thank you! Glad you liked it so much Ian :)
So glad you enjoyed the new format spike!! Stay tuned for more :D
I was surprised that I enjoyed this so much. First time I have ever watched the entirety of battle report! Great work!
Wow, thanks!
I absolutely love it. This is how I see every game I play. It's great to see it brought to life in a battle report.
Thanks Kyle!! Part two out on Friday!
just found you guys and I gotta say the quality of the video with all the sounds and small bit of clone wars animation added in is amazing. Keep up the great work.
Thank you so much Hugh! Be sure to check out part's 2 and 3, with part 4 due in December :)
Zorp, have no doubts; these videos are special. There's little like it on the web
Thanks Pete, glad you like them mate :)
The legend of the 501st will forever live on via your film. Gripping story with magnificent figures and terrain. Won’t play the game but got to collect me some clone Troopers, and Rex. AND THE GOOD GUYS WON, WHOO !
Thanks Kili, can always count on you to enjoy my stuff
Truly amazing. Your content just gets better and better
Thank you so much mate!!!
Masterful! You've really upped your game with this one.
I'm now sorely tempted to pick up some Star Wars Legion now.
Can't wait to see more huge battles in this style ;)
Indeeeeeeed ;) Thanks so much mate! :)
Just getting into Legion and this is the kind of content I love in my miniature games! You have been a fantastic channel and even made me consider things I hadn't, like trying Lord of the Rings or even get Clones. :P Good job, excited to see the others!
Fuck yeah Dan!! Glad you liked the batrep bro
I really hope you do more of these star wars legion content. It's better than others by a long shot.
Thanks Ethan!! Oh dont worry, part two is on the way already!
@@Zorpazorp Oh I am very excited
usually I struggle to watch a full battle report but this was absolutely amazing. Great job with the editing and the scenario itself was great. Great video!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it Ty!!!!
Just seen this and it's the best battle report going. Being a new Legion play it was great that you explained what you were going to do and why. Good luck to you guys.
Great video this is my first ever StarWars Legion Videos
Glad you enjoyed it!
Your models and terrain look excellent the detail and paint on them is amazing it really enhances the battle and makes it enjoyable to watch keep up the great work💯👌
Thank you very much!
Glad you enjoyed it Phil!!
I've never played Legions (played 40k many, many years ago) and I was on the fence about investing into it. I just watched this with my daughter and it was convincing enough to get us onboard. Great video!!!
Welcome aboard! You'll love it it's a really rewarding game system!
This is brilliant! I love legion you guys are doing brilliantly! The quality of this bat rep is brilliant! Well done, that was great to watch!
Thanks so MUCH Shaun!!!

Awsome batrep! Very smooth and fluid scenes despite all the cool extras!
Thanks Peter!!
Found your channel fairly recently. I really enjoy how you do you battle reports! And the terrain is amazing!!!
Welcome aboard buddy!
More more more please!!!! Love your MESBG stuff but I think you truly found your niche here and it shows!
PS thank you so much for integrating contrast paints in your painting tutorials for us casual painters! Keep up the awesome work!
Thanks so much Joel! Dont worry lots more coming for all three systems in this style!
Holy crap, job done behind this video is huge. Congratulations, awesome work man
Why thank you Marco! Hope you enjoy episode two just as much!
The video clips really made it feel as though I was watching a real star wars battle! I'm so looking forward to the next installation in the series.
YESSSSSSS that's exactly what I was going for!"!!
I don't even play Legion but this batrep is done incredibly well and a pleasure to watch!
