"Life is demanding without understanding" ... now it's stuck in my head ...lol thanks Emily... this is a great video and I was able to follow along with you without a lot of anxiety. Very nice piece. And 💕💕🐶🐶

@@cathyjackson5959 I have a tape measure that you can write on with dry erase marker's as well. And it has each measurement actually numbered at each dash.
Ooh, to boldly go...😄 I appreciate that you didn't just take the easy way and order legs for this. My better half tends to use instict and fly this way! It has served us well.
Hey Emily, great video! I noticed you were drilling your pocket holes with the torque setting on your drill set at 1. That is for screwing, so you may have noticed it was slow and difficult to drill those holes. When you are drilling, you want to slide it to the 2 setting. That’s for drilling and will be much easier. Also, using a stop block on your miter saw will help you get repeatable accurate cuts when cutting legs and aprons. Hope these tips help! Love your content!
Funny story. I always read manuals (because I am that person), and it says drilling just move it to the drill setting and done. But now reading this I am like This makes a lot of sense lol! Thank you! I am sure I am going to do this next time and wonder where this setting has been my whole life! Also great tip with the stop block! Thank you Yvette!!
THis looks so nice! The proportion of the leg size to the cabinet is just right. I like your way of making the base - I don't like measuring so I do this kind of thing a lot 🤣
Love this! It turned out really great, love your skills when it comes to making bases and legs! I flip furniture too and only made one base so far and looking on others ways to make them, this video was perfect for this
I probably overengineered it but I would rather it last 😊. I have an idea for a front and back only base build too but havent found the right piece for it yet.
I like the use of the dowels instead of the pocket holes . Now I’ll have to get the dowel jig as this seems less intimidating to me. I do rhyme though quite a lot but it’s not flowing now lol .
What happened to "Measure twice, cut once"? LOL I need some tall shelf units like that in my new apartment. Since I don't own a pick-up, I'm not sure how I'm gonna make that happen. :/ Thankfully, it's not an emergency. ;) Nice job on the reconfigure.
The book shelf fit in my Rav4, but I am not sure it would fit in a car. When I want something a bit taller I look for units that are two parts so I can transport them. I have also considered renting a Uhaul if I found enough things to justify it in a day. Most thrift stores in my area will hold items until you can pick them up with payment. I do wish I had a truck through. There are so many things I haven't picked up because of it. Thank you Noralee!! 😊
@@ReconstructingEmily I hear you! My next car may be an SUV or pick-up, although they comes with their own issues - as in all the people like us who need a truck to move things! ROFL Not to mention the price of gas these days. Yikes!! :o ;)
