    Wonderful tutorial. I absolutely love the feather. I’m going to try my hand at cutting one out abs see how it goes. Thank you!

    What a wonderful and instructive session would have loved to have seen the final product in its glazed form.

      Would you believe I have never glazed that??! Lol! Many of my demos at school I don't glaze, as they "disappear" from my room when I am not watching. If I leave the forms bisque, kids don't take them! ;)

    That was really helpful! Thank you. I’m just heading off to my pottery class in five minutes! I needed a reminder about this before I head out! Thanks! 😊

    I love your videos. You regularly show patterns you have made, would you make a video of how to make those patterns?

      I just realized I never put a reply up with a link after I added a video! Here is the video on how I make conical patterns! How to Make a Conical Pattern or Template for Slab Forming in Clay

    My best guess on your template creation is first drawing a circle in the size that you want the bottom to be, then another circle larger than that with that uses the desired height of walls.
    The big question is how you draw the lines on the template for smaller size diameter bowls.

      I do apologize for the delay in getting back to you! The end of the school year is always crazy for me and I just can't get around to making any videos! I'm out of school now, and shot this last week... here is how I make the templates for the conical pieces! I hope that helps! :) Karan th-cam.com/video/ehipFC_XqS0/w-d-xo.html

    I have tried several conical shapes and every time the seams don’t match up and they are not round! I have tried so many times! Do you have any ideas on lining it up and not having the seam so pronounced and keeping it round? Thank you.

      Perhaps the template isn't even? Maybe this would help. th-cam.com/video/ehipFC_XqS0/w-d-xo.html

    Have you made coffee mugs, and pour over cone sets?

    What kind of clay would u recommend for a beginner?

      The clay I use is in the video description. That’s a lovely cone 5-6 white body with a bit of grog. For my students, I like standard 153, stoneware, which is also:
      cone five and six, fires to a warm tan. If you want to do low fire you could look at a variety of earthenware‘s. It really depends on your glazes that you have!

    You didn't show the coil in the inside of the pot!!

      @KaransPotsAndGlass  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Whoops!!!! I don’t know how I managed to cut that out!!! Sorry about that! I just score both the coil and the pot, then blend well with the wood tool!!!

    I looked all through your video list, but did not find an answer. The question is how do you make the template? Can you give some instruction on that?

    Can you give me the measurements of your bowl template?

    • @KaransPotsAndGlass
      @KaransPotsAndGlass  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because of the irregularity of that template I don’t really have measurements for it, but check out this video of how I made the template it might be helpful for you! How to Make a Conical Pattern or Template for Slab Forming in Clay th-cam.com/video/ehipFC_XqS0/w-d-xo.html
