Somewhere there is a drawing showing the build-up so it should have shown a DPC. Never mind it is high up in the ground and it isn't as if you have lake nearby or anything. You could also have done with some airbricks in the sleeper wall to keep the air going all the way through. That would help dry it out
This is old school not new, Combination of prereinforced concrete beam and hollow block made of clay or concrete. It can span 6 meter and more. 2 inch concrete slab is pour on top.
i have been doing this job for 12 years and you have no damp cores under the beams that means water will rise up the blocks and go into the beams and so and so i only saying what i no :) and this job is back killer but very good money :)
If this guy is a project manager how comes no one's wearing a hard hat bet none of them done any saftey training got a c.s.c.s card or he's got a gold or black card .or s.m.s.t.s or whatever they do these days.totally cluless on risk assessment or saftey method statements.bunch of chancers.and no d.p.c.i wouldent have had them on any of my projects don't work safe.

this method seems quite simple and does not need any crane but how does it compare to hollow core in total cost that is the question
since there are block insulation slabs you can easily fit to then screed over, doesn't this method seem excessive?
I keep thinking I over did my job when I concreted the floor with 12 to 16 inches of concrete. The floor size was 25 metres by 7 metres.

Putting the dpc under the beams is a waste of time. ends up getting ripped up anyway.
No D P C, and those beams sitting on concrete blocks, should be sitting on commons.
