I did all of this with my first Wyze cam 2, and it installed very easily. The second camera will not function, when you press the setup button nothing happens, no tone, no ready to connect, just silence. I tried several times so I believe the camera is just defective.

This is my only gripe so far with them. These are not perfect by any means, but so far they are doing what I hoped they would do. Range on the motion detection is about what I expected, same with night vision. Easy installation also, targeting a specific area for the view was also easy
The key for me in this video was when my man said that every network has a 2G and the reason I could not connect to the 2 G was because I need to forget the 5G, once I did that, all gravy. Very helpful, thank you sir.
My first V2 model connected to wifi easily but the phone notifications didn't work. Returned that one and on my second unit I had trouble getting connected to wifi. I did pretty much all the steps, reset to factory specs and rebooted phone. I finally went into my router settings, turned off the security features, turned off the 5Ghz radio, and rebooted the router (via the software reboot button). After a second (or third ?) factory reset and, the router tweaks, it finally connected. Before the router tweaks I did verify the unit was trying to connect to a 2.4Ghz radio. Right away a phone notification worked as well, once. I'll give it a cool off period to try the notifications again.

Advice given in his first 30 seconds solved the problem. Initially I was unable to add new cam, advice on cam was to retry login credentials, that failed. then restart modem/router - that failed. He said to shut off wyze app, disconnect new cam, then retry. Worked .

I kept getting the "Connection Failed" issue when connecting the camera to the wireless network. It took me an hour to figure out that I needed to connect to the 2.4 GHz network. Yes, I knew this but I have two networks and connected to the wrong one. I also connected my phone to the 2.4 GHz network. I have had this device for over a year and not once have I ever heard a voice during set-up. I think it helps to move the camera directly around the QR code. It's a good sign when the lights blink yellow and blue, which means it's attempting to connect to your network. The last step in the set-up process should take about 30 seconds. If it's taking too long to connect, there's something wrong with the network. Don't bother waiting 5 minutes for it to connect.
I found out for ME, that the best way to RE-SET up a camera when you have to get a NEW Router because mine broke, is to "add new camera, start over, re-name the camera" then the app removes the first name, and ALL WORKS again.
Just bought one today. I watch your videos with your daughter.. I was not looking for a camera, but I trust you which sounds so dumb as a consumer, but that is why I bought it. I do need a second camera at my house so it will be helpful
Hi: I had a dickens of a time this afternoon getting it connected. We have a 2.4 system but I had to go into my wireless settings and change them. A little inconvenient, but the picture is incredible. I have an outdoor camera which I got on Christmas. I charged it. And we are one week full into using it. I've set it up outside in a great spot and I haven't had to charge it yet. Incredible cameras. I bought two of the $20 ones and still INCREDIBLE pictures and functions.

@@danieljuarez8126 lol Setting up an account is separate from physically "pushing the setup button" on the camera and hearing a voice prompt "Ready to connect". Anyone can download the app and setup an account without having to buy any Wyze product. That process just creates you an account on the server. Adding the device to the app requires you to physically push the button and waiting for the voice prompt (from the camera) "Ready to connect". The voice prompt doesn't even happen to continue on to the next step.

Just picked up a couple of Cam OG and they refused to connect to the Wyze cloud. Returning them. Can we please stop using the cloud if you have access to microSD?
Amazing. If every Chines manufacturer would understand the value of a REAL CS such as what I see here..... BTW this camera was the best $20 I've ever spent. Especially love its in-house Time lapse feature. Fantastic.
Audio pick up(mic)is too sensitive even at lowest setting( 1 )and gives a very noticable feedback. -vice versa, cam speaker is too loud and is getting picked up by mic thus creating a very distorted sound.. any fix for this? I hope im not the only one having this issue.. Im really happy with my purchase since video quality is very clear and crisp. I have plugged in my cam and the back light is yellow, no blinking just yellow. No matter how long I hold the setup button I get no change. I have unplugged and restarted several times using different connections and outlets, please advise.

I was really happy with my cams until one stopped working after firmware upgrade. I have reset a few times and I can’t get it to connect. I have been trying to get in-touch with Wyzecam and they have not responded to emails and my phone calls drop after 10 min on hold when I am number two or three in line. What is going. On?? I bought 2 wyze cam , the install went fine and then it asked for upgrade immediately , after 5 min it said upgrade failed and it stopped working ever since .. What's the best sensitivity to receive notifications for human movement? I have placed the camera in my house facing out a window. I want all humans in the 20m distance (up until the end of my driveway) to trigger motion but not the cars on the road past the 20m point. Any advice on which sensitivity for motion would be the best for that?
Im going to sell mine on offer up, this camera is really bad, it disconnects constantly and the its really hard to connect the camera if you update the firmware.
We license the camera body from the same company that iSmartAlarm does. The major differences are in our custom built firmware and app. Our products are not compatible because of it.

If you have a phone with a small screen like an iPhone mini, then you might have to send the QR code to a device with a bigger screen like a tablet, or print the QR code out onto a sheet of paper. Once you have a bigger version of your QR code the camera might have an easier time recognizing it. This tip helped my girlfriend and I in addition to the points about 2.4ghz WiFi and resetting the camera
Hope you were able to return them for a refund. Lefun Cams are much better, so are YI cams. Wyze has horrible track record with their products, all but for the price which what good is price point when the product is poorest working on the market!
I have a crack on my screen that affects my camera. Is there anyway I can switch to the camera on the back of the phone? Also you pointed at the lens and not the we code. Is that where I need to scan? I was trying to scan the printed qr code.
When setting up the camera, the Wyze Cam's lens needs to scan the QR code displayed on your phone's screen -- not the one printed on the Wyze Cam. If you have a crack on the screen, you may need to use a different phone (perhaps a family member or friend's) or tablet in order to complete the setup process.

I’ve been trying for MONTHS to no avail. I’ve reached out to customer service 2 times. If I could only get someone on the phone I’m sure that would help but sending emails back and forth doesn’t help when the customer has no clue of the background of networking and such. It worked for me before and just stopped. I’m so frustrated.

My issue when powering the Wyze cam and connecting again was a steady yellow light light and then apparently shutting off. The factory reset fixed this.
I pre-ordered and received the V2 came in February. They both were working until a couple days ago. One of them doesn't anymore and I have tried every step Wyze has suggested. I can always get to the QR Code part, but after that it won't connect.

the problem I have is that I put the camera on a cover to put it outside. to reset I unplug the plug from the outlet. still does not work it is very frustrating. To push that button I have to take the cover off. Is any other way to do this procedure. Help.

It could be that when you moved the camera the connection got reset once you plugged it back in so we would recommend just trying to set up the Wyze Cam again to get it connected. No one talks about how to find 5ghz or 2.4ghz. If I can change it from 5 to 2.4, does that slow my computer down? Also , if I want another person to use the camera app(s) on their phone, do the other persons have to create their own account with wyze?
Hi there! Thanks for reaching out. When setting up a Wyze device that requires a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, you'll need to connect your phone to that Wi-Fi network to do so. Typically, you would find separate 2.4GHz or 5 GHz networks when you set up your internet system. Some systems have combined 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi networks. If you're unsure how to find your 2.4 GHz network, we would suggest contacting your internet service provider. With the networks already being in place, you shouldn't have to "change" anything since you'll be connecting your Wyze devices to a Wi-Fi network that is separate from the one your computer would be connected to. Lastly, if you wanted to share your device, that person would have to download the Wyze app and create an account where you'll send an invitation to the device you want to share. I’m having a problem with my Cam Pan not recognizing my brand new San Disk 32gb sd card. I’ve inserted sd card and it does not make that sound you mentioned in another you tube. Plus on my camera entry it says no sd card inserted when it’s in there. Help?
You're welcome! And thank you for your question. When it is night you can see 2 small, red dots by the lens of your WyzeCam. They are mildly noticeable but don't really illuminate the area in front of the camera.
Any estimates on the motion sensor fix? I Havnt had mine on since it sent me a hundred notifications of Videos with nothing moving. Lowest setting too.
We actually don't use a motion sensor. WyzeCam operates using a pixel comparison algorithm to detect changes in the scene and, unfortunately, is a bit too sensitive right now. You're probably getting videos involving minor movements or lighting changes (which look like nothing if you're looking for actual movement). We're sorry about this! It's one of our top priorities to fix.

Got a new router from isp. Eero smart router. I have gone through the steps, but cameras say the can not find network. I have gone through the eero app to change settings,but can not find where to switch networks.
Was having the same issue. I Kept reading the comments and I found the answer. If u haven’t figured it out yet, You have to basically just start over and go thru set up again. Click ‘add new product’ and go from there.

I called Eero tech support and they turn off the 5g network so I could ad my wyze cameras. soon as I was able to connect, they turn 5g back on. My signal is the best it has ever been and all of my cameras are 100% operational. Thanks to eero tech support
WyeCam is NOT a live security monitoring camera ! its fine to reference on sd card or cloud after incidents but it is definitely not a Live Monitoring camera. Don't think you can quickly reference to your tablet screen when doorbell rings or you hear something, changes are your live feed is stuck or "Connection Failed". I run Dahua wireless IP CAM setup next to WyeCam V3/PAN/Outdoor/V1 and the WyeCam feed reset/error/reset continuously with Dahua feed not dropping so its definitely not my network. (I even switched off 5GHZ connection permanently) I run Mesh network and can monitor downtime witch is also stable.

So far very disappointed in Wyzecam V3. As you say doesn't work on 5G network--although it DID during the 14-day trial!--and it seems on both the desktop and phone 5G is all I have.

New setup and I just had a delivery at my front door. when I went to playback I hear the delivery person and I spoke to her but dont see us on the recorded video.. seems the video is a static picture. Vid captur goes from 3:06-3:08 can hear everything.. just no video? WIFI 2.4g is 60Mbps download and 6.5Mps upload. Brand new 16GB class 10 card. Device info: WIFI strength 92%. Please create video for these types of issues.

Ok i have a wyze 3 we did a reset our problem is we get login to our network and move to scan there is already a QR code showing so we dont get the message from the cam saying i heard "QR Scanned we have tried a lo to different things 1 our camera setting ( the camera scans other QR codes no problem ) ( but if we do click 1 Heard the qR code and move to next the unit keeps saying ready to conect . any idea why and what to do .

I have had this device for over a year and not once have I ever heard a voice during set-up. I think it helps to move the camera directly around the QR code. It's a good sign when the lights blink yellow and blue, which means it's attempting to connect to your network. The last step in the set-up process should take about 30 seconds. If it's taking too long to connect, there's something wrong with the network. Don't bother waiting 5 minutes for it to connect.
I found out for ME, that the best way to RE-SET up a camera when you have to get a NEW Router because mine broke, is to "add new camera, start over, re-name the camera" then the app removes the first name, and ALL WORKS again.
That is correct! At this point, there is no other way to change the network information for Wyze Cam.

I had a dickens of a time this afternoon getting it connected. We have a 2.4 system but I had to go into my wireless settings and change them. A little inconvenient, but the picture is incredible. I have an outdoor camera which I got on Christmas. I charged it. And we are one week full into using it. I've set it up outside in a great spot and I haven't had to charge it yet. Incredible cameras. I bought two of the $20 ones and still INCREDIBLE pictures and functions.

@@danieljuarez8126 lol Setting up an account is separate from physically "pushing the setup button" on the camera and hearing a voice prompt "Ready to connect". Anyone can download the app and setup an account without having to buy any Wyze product. That process just creates you an account on the server. Adding the device to the app requires you to physically push the button and waiting for the voice prompt (from the camera) "Ready to connect". The voice prompt doesn't even happen to continue on to the next step.

Audio pick up(mic)is too sensitive even at lowest setting( 1 )and gives a very noticable feedback. -vice versa, cam speaker is too loud and is getting picked up by mic thus creating a very distorted sound.. any fix for this? I hope im not the only one having this issue..
Im really happy with my purchase since video quality is very clear and crisp. Plus installation and setup is very easy not to mention the very user-friendly app.

I have plugged in my cam and the back light is yellow, no blinking just yellow. No matter how long I hold the setup button I get no change. I have unplugged and restarted several times using different connections and outlets, please advise.

I was really happy with my cams until one stopped working after firmware upgrade. I have reset a few times and I can’t get it to connect. I have been trying to get in-touch with Wyzecam and they have not responded to emails and my phone calls drop after 10 min on hold when I am number two or three in line. What is going. On?? I also ordered a version 2 when they sent an email and have no idea when it will drive. I sure hope they are not screwing customers.

Bought two more recently. One doesn't talk during setup. Also, no sound from speaker during use. Siren doesn't work. Is there a volume setting? Can't find that setting anywhere

I bought 2 wyze cam , the install went fine and then it asked for upgrade immediately , after 5 min it said upgrade failed and it stopped working ever since .. I removed the devise and tried to add it back but it always shows the solid yellow light (doesn't blink) . I tried to unplug , tried to press the reset button for 20 sec( no change at all ) , but nothing seem to work .. please suggest

What's the best sensitivity to receive notifications for human movement? I have placed the camera in my house facing out a window. I want all humans in the 20m distance (up until the end of my driveway) to trigger motion but not the cars on the road past the 20m point. Any advice on which sensitivity for motion would be the best for that?
Power cycle and delete and setup is kind if hard to do when you're not anywhere near the damn thing.
Im going to sell mine on offer up, this camera is really bad, it disconnects constantly and the its really hard to connect the camera if you update the firmware.

We license the camera body from the same company that iSmartAlarm does. The major differences are in our custom built firmware and app. Our products are not compatible because of it.

If you have a phone with a small screen like an iPhone mini, then you might have to send the QR code to a device with a bigger screen like a tablet, or print the QR code out onto a sheet of paper.
Once you have a bigger version of your QR code the camera might have an easier time recognizing it.

Hope you were able to return them for a refund. Lefun Cams are much better, so are YI cams. Wyze has horrible track record with their products, all but for the price which what good is price point when the product is poorest working on the market!
I have a crack on my screen that affects my camera. Is there anyway I can switch to the camera on the back of the phone? Also you pointed at the lens and not the we code. Is that where I need to scan? I was trying to scan the printed qr code.
When setting up the camera, the Wyze Cam's lens needs to scan the QR code displayed on your phone's screen -- not the one printed on the Wyze Cam.
If you have a crack on the screen, you may need to use a different phone (perhaps a family member or friend's) or tablet in order to complete the setup process.

I’ve been trying for MONTHS to no avail. I’ve reached out to customer service 2 times. If I could only get someone on the phone I’m sure that would help but sending emails back and forth doesn’t help when the customer has no clue of the background of networking and such. My issue when powering the Wyze cam and connecting again was a steady yellow light light and then apparently shutting off. The factory reset fixed this.
I pre-ordered and received the V2 came in February. They both were working until a couple days ago. One of them doesn't anymore and I have tried every step Wyze has suggested. I can always get to the QR Code part, but after that it won't connect.

the problem I have is that I put the camera on a cover to put it outside. to reset I unplug the plug from the outlet. still does not work it is very frustrating. To push that button I have to take the cover off. Is any other way to do this procedure. Help.

No one talks about how to find 5ghz or 2.4ghz. If I can change it from 5 to 2.4, does that slow my computer down? Also , if I want another person to use the camera app(s) on their phone, do the other persons have to create their own account with wyze?
Hi there! Thanks for reaching out. When setting up a Wyze device that requires a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, you'll need to connect your phone to that Wi-Fi network to do so. Typically, you would find separate 2.4GHz or 5 GHz networks when you set up your internet system. Some systems have combined 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi networks. If you're unsure how to find your 2.4 GHz network, we would suggest contacting your internet service provider.
With the networks already being in place, you shouldn't have to "change" anything since you'll be connecting your Wyze devices to a Wi-Fi network that is separate from the one your computer would be connected to.
Lastly, if you wanted to share your device, that person would have to download the Wyze app and create an account where you'll send an invitation to the device you want to share. You can find out more about that here: support.wyze.com/hc/en-us/articles/360032408852-How-to-Use-Sharing

Definitely sounds like SOMETHING there is a dud! Do you have a different adapter and power cable (such as for a phone) that you can try? It may be the power supplies and, if so, that will mean that we can get you up and running faster. :)

When it is night you can see 2 small, red dots by the lens of your WyzeCam. They are mildly noticeable but don't really illuminate the area in front of the camera.

Any estimates on the motion sensor fix? I Havnt had mine on since it sent me a hundred notifications of Videos with nothing moving. Lowest setting too.
We actually don't use a motion sensor. WyzeCam operates using a pixel comparison algorithm to detect changes in the scene and, unfortunately, is a bit too sensitive right now. You're probably getting videos involving minor movements or lighting changes (which look like nothing if you're looking for actual movement). We're sorry about this! It's one of our top priorities to fix.

Got a new router from isp. Eero smart router. I have gone through the steps, but cameras say the can not find network. I have gone through the eero app to change settings,but can not find where to switch networks.
Was having the same issue. I Kept reading the comments and I found the answer. If u haven’t figured it out yet, You have to basically just start over and go thru set up again. Click ‘add new product’ and go from there.

I called Eero tech support and they turn off the 5g network so I could ad my wyze cameras. soon as I was able to connect, they turn 5g back on. My signal is the best it has ever been and all of my cameras are 100% operational. Thanks to eero tech support

WyeCam is NOT a live security monitoring camera ! its fine to reference on sd card or cloud after incidents but it is definitely not a Live Monitoring camera. Don't think you can quickly reference to your tablet screen when doorbell rings or you hear something, changes are your live feed is stuck or "Connection Failed". I run Dahua wireless IP CAM setup next to WyeCam V3/PAN/Outdoor/V1 and the WyeCam feed reset/error/reset continuously with Dahua feed not dropping so its definitely not my network. (I even switched off 5GHZ connection permanently) I run Mesh network and can monitor downtime witch is also stable.

New setup and I just had a delivery at my front door. when I went to playback I hear the delivery person and I spoke to her but dont see us on the recorded video.. seems the video is a static picture. Vid captur goes from 3:06-3:08 can hear everything.. just no video? WIFI 2.4g is 60Mbps download and 6.5Mps upload. Brand new 16GB class 10 card. Device info: WIFI strength 92%. Ok i have a wyze 3 we did a reset our problem is we get login to our network and move to scan there is already a QR code showing so we dont get the message from the cam saying i heard "QR Scanned we have tried a lo to different things 1 our camera setting
