People in Miami - Season 1: Apocalypse BBQ

Apocalypse Barbecue has become one of Miami’s hot spots for BBQ, and with great reason. Their food is delicious! But, this interview goes way beyond that. I sat with chef/owner Jeffrey Budnechky as we went into detail about his life, what led him to opening Apocalypse BBQ, and overcoming his battle with Leukemia. He has a very inspiring story and a unique appreciation for life that we can find value in.
Jeff’s career path was very different from what you’d expect of a chef/restaurant owner. His background is actually in marketing, photo, and video production. He worked for companies such as Apple and later opened his own marketing agency. It wasn’t until the pandemic hit that he decided to leverage his talents on the grill and turn his passion for BBQing into an actual business. What started as a pop-up is now a popular restaurant in Kendall!
