GIRL!!!!!!! It’s your season. So many wonderful things are happening for you. This tutorial is everything and it opened up several way to make jeans larger or smaller in my mind. Thank you for sharing.
Great video. Now, I won't feel quite as bad if my jeans "shrink" in the wash. I've got a fun alternative. You look great on the streets of NYC. Hope your developing project moves along better and faster than you can imagine.
It's my first video with you and I'm sold! You have a new subscriber. I'm a life-long, experienced sewer and you got me!!! I have to go fix my "shrunken" jeans.
I'm literally in the middle of doing this with some of my old favourite jeans, this is such good timing ☺️ I just found a stain on the added panel after I already sewed it in so I'm adding a star to cover it 🤭 thank you for the inspiration!
Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial! I've recently found your channel and everything I've seen so far is so creative, fashionable, and practical. I have always wanted to try something like this with a black lace over a bright single color fabric. Adding the snap closures in like I saw in one of the clips would be really useful for me too. Thanks again!
FABULOUS and an easy stylish solution!💜👍🏾💜👍🏾💜 I am doing this TODAY! Love you, Angelina. Congrats on your new opportunity. MANIFEST!!! It’s your time. God bless you! 💜
Angelina, you are so creative! You inspired me to start upcycling my clothes - I am getting compliments from strangers on my Angelina-inspired jeans. :)
This is the perfect description of what I needed. I've had this adorable pair of bug embroidered jeans for 4 years and they are way too small 😅. I can't wait to do this project!
Oh my goodness, I remember doing this to some old jeans - forgot how i did it - so thank you for uploading this! And such cool ideas holy crap!! I'm going to be tearing up my scrap bins now. You make everything so easy to understand!
Those pants are GORGEOUS! 😍🤩 You're both brilliant AND talented and deserve every bit of recognition that comes your way. Looking forward to hearing about your New York blessing.
SO EXCELLENT - both your ideas and your personality !!!! Love this ! exactly as is - I do have a pair that "shrunk" only in the top belly area - and I don't want to mess with the legs because it has great fabric paint on it - so a tutorial on just doing the top part that will be covered even with a shirt would be cool. Shout out to your sister! Love her personality too.
this is such a cool project! i have such an issue with outgrowing my jeans and would love to take it as an opportunity for personalization loving your philosophy on upcycling fitting a person for who they are your diy makes a lot more sense to me than a lot of them i see out there
Again as always, killing it with the upcycling those jeans turned out amazing but since all of my jeans still fit perfectly I will not be doing any of mine right this minute but at least I have your ideas if needed in the future!!!💙🔥
WOW! I LOVE these ideas! You need to write a book. Here is an idea for you! How about using fancy trim to cover the side panels? I am a thrifter, and sometimes I find the most beautiful trims for cheap! You are so talented! Hope you go far in all your design endeavors!!
I have tons of no sew videos. Check this one out for an overview. 34 DIY clothes to upcycle now... NO MATTER your skill level! th-cam.com/video/F7y13nfza8E/w-d-xo.html. The first section is dedicated to no sew projects.
I have already upcycled 4 pairs of jeans into two different pieces thanks to you! A midi jean skirt with two jeans that didn’t fit annymore, and white jeans (they were low rise and I made them straight leg and high waisted) using an old paint of grey pants. Thank you for your creative energy, amazing ideas, and your inspiration!
Beautiful job❤ I have a lotta levi's which I treasure and save for remake projects like this...thank you dear Angelina. Have a happy Easter with your family❤❤❤
I really liked this upcyle to the jeans. If I was to do this, I might overlay lace into the new section of the jeans - or just use a nice lace without a backing fabric if I felt like showing off my legs. I like the patches you've done, and the embroidery idea would look fabulous as well. Another idea I've just had, is that if the jeans you are using for the panel are too short, cut them at various points and include sections in there to lengthen those panels until they are long enough - it would be even more fun if the addition in that panel was a different colour from either trousers you were using for the original and the first patch.
Here because I thrifted a pair of pants and was sad they didn’t fit! I really thought they were gonna. I really want to wear them so I’m definitely doing this!
Thank you so much, I came across your video just in time! I have a pair of *new* jeans still with the label on that I had put aside to give away because they are just two small but now I know what I will do with them! 😁👏And two other pairs of jeans that are the same but different colours and one pair that is getting very thin in the thighs... yipee!!! 😂 Thank you so much for sharing, you are a mine of inspiration 🙏🤗 what you did with your jeans is just lovely 💖
I love this I have a pair of vintage pale pink jeans that are a wee bit tight. So I have been thinking of added fabric maybe lace or like a wide ribbon or trim. Maybe bleached white denim. You gave me some ideas
Ur jeans turned out awesome, in my mind I would do diamonds. In my mind because I don’t sew but I’m interested in learning. I like what it is that u do, keep up the good work.
SO cute!!! I am curious how you would upsize professional trousers? I have a whole bunch that my wardrobe shrunk and if I could add sparkly tassels down the sides of everything I own, I absolutely would! Unfortunately I work in an industry where I need to blend in to the background, so I am trying to find that balance of being professional while still showing my personality. If anyone has suggestions on what to do with lighter, silkier fabric that is still work appropriate, I'd love to hear them!
This can be done on work pants. It’s all about what you choose to add as the panel. Find another similar fabric that compliments the pants. I did stripes here, but you can keep it simple. th-cam.com/video/z7b8Qet2Uas/w-d-xo.html
Sewing is a lost skill these days. My mom was a very skilled sewer she made all of her clothes, my clothes until I was 8 or 9, and my dad's work shirts. I think she had 2 or 3 store-bought patterns the rest was paper bag patterns. She passed away while I was young so I never got to learn from her. I wanted to learn to sew but I never knew what material to use and ready-made clothes were cheaper . People could save so much money and have more unique and interesting clothes if they learned at least how to mend, hem, and do basic repair work.
A few suggestions. You could do a zigzag around the cut outs or hand embroidery. When you want something to ease in put the longer piece on the bottom. The feed dog will draw it in for you. BUT awesome job.
Love!!!💜 I did a version of this for one of my sons for a few of his jeans, but I put it in the inseam, gusset style to accommodate his muscular legs. Now he can do lunges in his jeans...lol
About the seam at the top, next time, take out the seam to reduce bulk and then put the waistband back on. It's extra but you won't break any denim needles.
i'm an absolute beginner at sewing but i will try this with a wide leg jean i had which (now) has a tiny waist..... i do not plan on ripping off the back pockets i'll leave them there i hope my vintage sewing machine can handle it :D wish me luck and thank you for the tutorial!
This is an awesome idea, Sis! Thanks for sharing. As you wear them you'll hear, "Girrrl, where did you get those jeans? They're the bomb!" and you'll reply, "I know, right?"
You can seam rip the waistband off at the points where it was cut. Seam rip off the panel waistband. And sew the two together by opening and laying them flat. Then fold them back over the top of the pants and sew back down.
Do you use a Fels Naptha bar to treat old stains? I have used this with success to treat old stains. Wet the fabric thoroughly, apply the soap to the stain, let it sit and try washing as usual. Sometimes it takes multiple applications. I know it works for me.
I have some jeans I’m going to do this with (or try to lol it’s my first time). My jeans are black and I’m going to add some camo jean material in the side. Both pairs are a little tight on me. Wish me luck!
You can add a triangle shape if your goal is to take the pants out a little and also make them wide leg jeans. If you just want to take them out, a long rectangle strip would be better.
GIRL!!!!!!! It’s your season. So many wonderful things are happening for you. This tutorial is everything and it opened up several way to make jeans larger or smaller in my mind. Thank you for sharing.
Yes, I’m so grateful for what’s going on! 🙌🏾 Thank you 💕
Just got a load of old jeans from a family friend. So my seeing this was perfectly timed. Wonderful job!
Yayyy!!

You need a seam jumper to sew over the bulky fabric - I’ve seen sewers use a button before/behind the presser foot as well. Awesome jeans project! 🤩
This tutorial is fantastic!
Thanks for sharing ❤

I hear you. I think I’ve seen people do that the same except it’s a much shorter triangle with the wide part at the top and the point at the bottom.
@@BlueprintDIY Now that's a good idea. Why didn't I think of that? Sheesh.
I’m looking forward to doing this. I’m super excited.❤❤❤❤❤
I like those hearts on the sides. The stars are nice also. Thank you for this video.
Thanks!
Thanks Myra!! 🤗
@@BlueprintDIY That’s my favorite one!
Super cute. Loved the striped one a lot, too. Never seen that scarf look before. So creative and girly.
Very kew-el!! I'm hoping to have to try this one. Thank you Angelina. Hope things went great in NYC!
Thanks so much!! 🥰🥰

your diy makes a lot more sense to me than a lot of them i see out there
wow that came out amazing!!! for now i will try to shrink myself first instead of working on my shrinking denim
You Rock "Boss Lady" Great Work.
🤭 Thank you!!

Yayyy, thanks! ☺️

Praying for favor!! You are so amazing...I am thinking 🦋 for my design.

Love these as usual. Thanks.
Beautiful
Hammering a thick multiple layer area will also make it easier to sew through!
"Hammer it"- Genius!!!!
Love this!!!! And welcome to NYC!!! This is where I live!!! Have a great time!
Oh yayyy! Thanks so much!
I found your channel a few weeks ago and I’m absolutely obsessed 😍

I LIKE YOUR STYLE!!! I LOVE DENIM!
Thank you 💕
Great vid! But is it possible to do this ONLY at the top (leaving the leg original cut) thus, expanding only the waist with this method? Thanks!

facts also so cute
Oh, just on time! I thrifted very cute high-waisted jeans, but they are 1 size too small
Congratulations … Do it your way!
Epic jeans!! You are the best!
Tfs 🥰🔥❤
I like this! You look nice when you let your hair down. :)
I LOVE these, thank you!!
I love it so much 10:23 😍😍☺️
❤ I love this I'll try painting on the side of mine 😂
4:02 😆 Classic ANGELLINA: "...gonna add a little Razzle dazzle😏"
🤭 I got that from Nadia on the first season of Next Top Upcycler. She has such a fun personality!
A few suggestions. You could do a zigzag around the cut outs or hand embroidery. When you want something to ease in put the longer piece on the bottom. The feed dog will draw it in for you. BUT awesome job.

All the best🙏🏾👏🏾

Beautiful

love it ❤
This is an awesome idea, Sis! Thanks for sharing. As you wear them you'll hear, "Girrrl, where did you get those jeans? They're the bomb!" and you'll reply, "I know, right?"
🤭 I love that!
LOVED this tutorial. Question though - what can you do if the waistband is too thick to be machine sewn?
You can seam rip the waistband off at the points where it was cut. Seam rip off the panel waistband. And sew the two together by opening and laying them flat. Then fold them back over the top of the pants and sew back down.
Do you use a Fels Naptha bar to treat old stains? I have used this with success to treat old stains. Wet the fabric thoroughly, apply the soap to the stain, let it sit and try washing as usual. Sometimes it takes multiple applications. I know it works for me.
No, I’ve never used that. Thanks for the tip!
I have some jeans I’m going to do this with (or try to lol it’s my first time). My jeans are black and I’m going to add some camo jean material in the side. Both pairs are a little tight on me. Wish me luck!
I buy smaller jeans sometimes because they have cuter fronts. Adding @the sides with more cute? ❤ Thanks for the hammer tip too!
First time attempting this project. Can you explain why the triangle insert!
You can add a triangle shape if your goal is to take the pants out a little and also make them wide leg jeans. If you just want to take them out, a long rectangle strip would be better.
@@BlueprintDIY thank you so much!
