All young men need a project like this it will keep them out of trouble! You have a good head on your shoulders Tommy, There's a lot of young men out there that need a good role model to look up too these day's, I know you might not ask for it but there watching and your doing a great job whether you know it or not.
Yes sir, we do wanna see the build on this channel!! That thing is freaking sweet! I want one now!!! Great content for the channel and can provide income for the project!
What an amazing father. I hope you realize how lucky you boys are. A lot of us never had a father so supportive and encouraging, if we had a father at all. Cool truck too, be careful trucks are addictive. There's only one car that I would rather drive than a truck, and I don't have it anymore so a truck it is for me. Good Luck
Awesome!!! A new video from SRC Photo!! Finally!! I thought SRC Photo had forgotten about 20k+ subs out here. It’s awesome to have you back Tommy, we’ve missed you!! Now.............. Now, you made a fantastic buy Tommy!! Anytime you can either sell it out right or part it out for more than you paid, then you’ve scored young man. There are many, many good channels out here that will guide you through the process of putting new cab corners and rockers in. You’ve got the tools you need, it’s not hard but you do need to follow the right steps. I’ve been doing paint & body work for 40+ years and I started out just like you except I started around 10 years old. For $1,200, you did well young man!!
Order you a LMC catalog for the year model your truck is. They have every part youll need for your truck. Youll learn how to work on it and do the cab Corners and rocker panels.
Beautiful pickup truck! I have 1992 chevy silverado single cab with fleet side and good ol 4.3 V6, all original, runs great.. everything original on the truck except the rims. Interior is ok, exterior is ok, too. I sold it 3 years ago. Still today, I see it other day, running strong. Like to see more channels on it. Keep up the great work and congratulations
I've got a few things. The under hood light should be on Bill work dually. The vanity light in the mirror just unplugs at the mirror. Great deal on that truck Tommy. I had a 90 swb k1500 back in the mid 90s. It was red and had a 4.3 V6. My body shop friend talked me into painting it yellow. So I blew it apart and painted everything yellow. I also installed a 20k mile tbi 350 in place of the V6. It turned out pretty sweet. I had also lowered for awhile. Eventually raised it back up.
Tommy we'd love anything y'all want to video and thanks for sharing your life with us keep up the great videos y'all are doing Great from Alabama 👍💪 💪🇺🇸❤️
Gotta do a build series on it. I also have a 92 standard cab short bed, I've had it since 98. These trucks have always been my favorite and it's awesome seeing you youngsters enjoying these old trucks and cars.
Don't beat yourself up too bad,I had a 89 and motor was one of the best and dependable. As far as the body work ya have the garage and the will to learn. Besides ya got a pretty good team and family around you. Good luck on the build.
I was going to say bunches of folks would love following your budget build and especially how you went about learning a few new things, but 1.2 thousand beat me to it!
That was a good deal on the truck. Practice makes perfect so don't get frustrated doing the body work. Just take your time. Like any job you will become better with time and experience. I'm looking forward to the next video.
I love seeing progress builds from no go to slow, progress is progress and good time to learn what it takes to do body work/weld, shaping panels back to what they should be.
You got the perfect foundation to start learning you have space support and years of knowledge surrounding you buddy i was thinking its about time tommy gunz started his own project. good luck and God bless SRC family great content.
That would be a fantastic build series 👏 something different from all the other channels start to finish 🥰🤟🤟🤟🤟🤘🤘🤘👍👍stephen caldwell from Northern Ireland
Parts are plentiful for those trucks. I've owned one for the last 24 years and they really are good trucks. Your issues are common and not bad to fix. Take your time, ask questions and make it your own. Have fun.
Man I'd love to have an OBS chevy stepside in as clean of condition as that one. I mean yeah it's has a few minor imperfections here and there but nothing a little elbow grease and TLC can't correct.
Got a 96 k1500 reg cab step side in my yard that is 100% original and clean it has the original cab corners and rockers from 96 don’t drive it much it’s something that is getting parked in the shop on Jack stands for the winter
Brooo! Keep it a step side please! I graduated in 2004. We all had this gen trucks. I had a blue step side with a 355, little bit of compression, and a decent cam. Just like this one and lowered a couple inches. Stock wheels. This one takes me back for sure. Wishing you the best with it Tommy!
Definitely budget build. Very savable truck. Good purchase price to be a budget build. You will have fun doing it, not to mention the pride when it’s done.
Absolutely 100% it will fit. Its a 93 or 94. There all the same from like 88 (in the 1500 and 2500) up threw 1998. The early 3500's (88-89) Where previous body style. But then they changed to match the others in 90 till 98. Good idea on the hood.
Good find Tommy truck isn’t to bad of shape. Keep posting as you work on it. I love watching y’all’s channel on TH-cam I appreciate you your dad and brother y’all keep up the good work.
Tommy I like your family a lot keep up with your channel buddy I want to see your channel grow stay focused. If you need help those trucks are a dime a dozen out here in California if you need help with anything let me know
They are down south as well and there’s usually a huge pile of rust free stepsides and fleet sides in the junkyards around here. With all of us keeping our eyes open for Tommy, he will have the nicest truck in Ohio come springtime or so!
And @SRCPhoto don't go and buy any. I have some of those stickers for you guys. And im planning on being at Pacemakers this weekend with them. And I found something for Alison also..
Also, go to the '94 permanent magnet starter for an upgrade. It will for the 168 tooth flexplate. You will also need the short SAE knurled bolts for it. 94 was the first for permenant magnet, but last for sae bolts, otth2er than some 95 stragglers with the new interior.
you should lower it about 4 inches in the rear and 3 in the front and with that 350 in it maybe a nice cam with a nice posi rear with some hard tires it would be the most fun daily
Tommy you got a steal, cab corners and rockers are a very easy fix on these trucks, keep the step side bed , they are great especially if you want to mini tub it.
Nice looking truck kiddo everyone gets that buyers remorse at times, look at the bigger picture when you do your thing it will be your creation that makes you happy and proud.
Tommy ,you got a good if your not afraid of work ,get a another straight side bed ,door rockers ,and cab corners, get slip ins panels easy to install I did my 05 Silverado. When you get done spray foam the inside cavities, keeps water out will be gold looking when your done..
Keep going forward! I have 2 Silverados budget builds. My 95 6cyl has frame rust issues that are mostly resolved. My daily driver now. Looks great now, was sitting a year ago. My 91 Z71 project is coming along. Should pass inspection in May. Will be my back up / tow vehicle. Keep moving forward! These 400 series are worth it. Next classic truck class.
I have always loved stepside chevys. I had a 2002 chevy S-10 for years and loved that truck. It was lowered tinted windows, exhaust, torque thrust 2 wheels. Cowl hood. It ran well to be a V-6. The Silverado will be sick with some work Tommy ! 👍
Yes for the budget build !! I just sold one of those. I had a mid cammed 383 stroker in it with a 5 spd manual with a locker rear diff. It was a perfect daily. if you're going to keep it a street truck, consider lowering it 2 inches. I did that with mine, and it improved the handling. plus I added a folding aluminum tonoue cover and that looked awesome
I’m not a Chevy guy, I know we all have our brand loyalties but I love that truck! My buddy had one when I was a young Marine. If it were me I would keep the flare/step side. A 350 will make it hot for what it is. Great find dude!
For sure do a budget build and restore your truck. Your truck is rare as you already know and they are worth big bucks restored. Plus it will be fun to drive and people will be trying to buy it from you once you finish working on it. DO NOT SELL IT!!! Keep it, it will only go up in price and get even rarer to find one. Enjoy the hell out of itTommy, you did really great buying it!!!
Your a good kid Tommy! I had a fleet side long bed same year that went over 300 thousand miles with very little issues! Get after that body work you’ll be fine just take your time and ask questions!! Thank you guys for all the videos what a great family you have! Your very blessed 🙏
Nice score. I love these trucks. Totally worth fixing up. It'll be a really sweet ride when your done with it. Wish you were closer, I'd give you a hood for it.
Tommy that is a sweet ride. I’m a Ford guy but have always had a soft spot for those Chevy short box stepsides. Looking forward to seeing the progress in this. 👍🏼
The truck looks pretty good considering it is an up north truck and has very little rust. I think you did OK. I would like to see you do a budget build and filming everything you are doing. In the end, I believe we all will be impressed.
Hell yeah Tommy. Very nice truck. Drop a 350 in some front runners and nice set of meat's on the rear then lower the stance. and tint the windows. Can't wait to see it after you get it the way you want it. God bless boys. Stay safe.
Nice looking little truck Tommy. The parts you need to fix your rust issues can be bought from LMC truck, and Yes, it would be great to see a budget truck build.
Yes! Absolutely do the budget build. It is something we can all relate to. Those are cool trucks. Good job saving it.

There are the only ones that has all the parts for your chevy truck
They'll send you a thick catalog for your Chevy truck for free
LMC is the BEST source for old Chevy truck parts. I can contest to that.
Plus you have access to a welder, big plus!! :)
Yes on the build. I would love to learn along with you!

Definitely would in joy a build with the truck I miss my 93 Silverado ext cab so bad it's great to get to see the body style again
Little Trick on the bumpers, use a 0000 steel wool... Works really good!
Steel wool probably won't fix the back one
No but it still works great for shining up chrome quickly.

Absolutely 100% it will fit. Its a 93 or 94. There all the same from like 88 (in the 1500 and 2500) up threw 1998. The early 3500's (88-89) Where previous body style. But then they changed to match the others in 90 till 98. Good idea on the hood.
